Hi
I am just starting out to develop some ROMs and just as almost every newbie went to the dxda's Android Kitchen and was sad to see that the OPO wasn't supported.
So if anyone knows any other development tools or some other ways t develop ROMs, please help me out.
Thanks.
There are literally dozens of guides available on how to build a ROM from source, just search and you'll find them.

Hi,
Nowadays I'm going to do some work in firmwares and I've looked for the full P6200L source tree in a lot of places, but I had no success.
In this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576553&page=1) I saw a huge and great discussion regarding port cyanogen 6 to the devices P6200 like. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post comments directly there.
Can some one point to me where can I find the latest source code that @aorth is using to generate those builds?

Guys, @aorth send a message to me. I think this thread may be closed now.
Thanks.
Hello there, I have bought Wikipad WPT500 recetly, updated it and managed to set boot.img as insecure and root completely. Thing is, it's quite old already, so I would like to OC kernel a bit or at least install twrp. It has potential, that's for sure. Thing is, there's no source available. I;ve contacted dev team from them but no response.
Does anyone know the way to modify kernel (OC it, i know there's no way to add schedulers or governonrs without sources) or compile TWRP without sources, based on stock images ?
Please understand XDA Assist Mission as highlighted in the First Sticki thread in this forum.
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

Having said that given you are a Senior member, you should be able to find out where such a question should be posed.
Thread Closed. Thank you.

There are several guides on XDA that explain how to build from source, and that are aimed at beginners. Just search "How to build ROMs from source XDA" in Google and you'll get several results. You need a Linux PC though, with plenty (100gb) of space available.

100GB of space available!! Oh my...
I am trying the same thing. I found some useful resources. Maybe it could help you too.

I am creating a new android device and want to create a kernel for it, how can I create it? Almost every guide and tutorial suggests to download a kernel source from the device's developer site for the particular device, but what if I want to create a new one?And how can I do it?

First, you need to decide exactly which hardware components to use, then find out which Linux kernel drivers those components require. How the kernel is built and what it contains depends on the hardware in the device.
Really, it would be better to ask this question somewhere else other than XDA, XDA deals with custom development and modifying existing stock firmwares, not with building source code for a device from scratch.

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I have lenovo a3000 h tablet and I am searching for custom ROM for it.
Only one person around the world has developed custom ROM ie., CyanogenMod cm11 for it and uploaded it to some website but that site currently is not in use I mean it is dead.Fortunately he has uploaded source code to git hub. I have searched the ROM zip file in web but not found.
I know that in the open source world if we have source code we can compile it and create software. I have downloaded all source code file's from github.
I am providing the address below
https://github.com/lenovo-a3-dev/android_kernel_lenovo_mt8389?files=1.
Can any one of you suggest a way how to create a ROM zip file so that I can flash using custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
I know that the task is complex but suggestions from all are helpful.
Regards,
Rupesh.

Your best bet is to post this question within one of the following thread Guides that's Github specific.

Good Luck!

I DO NOT provide support via PM unless asked/requested by myself. PLEASE keep it in the threads where everyone can share.
I think that it is impossible to create a ROM from source code as it needs lot of theories and also 150 GB of hard disk space.
I came to above decision because I have read in some website.
