It's normal you need to be root for see data/data/ folder.

Unfortunetly you need root for read/write on data/data folder. So only Titanium Backup and similar app can do that
This is an injustice, I can't do the root, I have to send him to guarantee next week ...
I'll have to start from the beginning once again

I know it's been a really long time, but if you or anyone has any save files, I'd love em.
I'm so sick of this broken game corrupting my files, but I want to play the game.

Is it possible to remove the CDFS partition (Verizon Mobile) without rooting the phone?
It is the company's phone, so no rooting for me but I would love to be able to use the TB as a USB stick on my JVC KD-AVX77 in the car. Right now it doesn't see any music and I suspect that's because of that CDFS partition.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I'd like to know this as well...
Bumping this up. Even if it requires root, would still like to know how to do it period, as I can't seem to find any info anywhere.
you have to delete a file and you need to be rooted to do so because it is a system file.
/system/etc/cdrom.iso is the file that needs to be deleted

The ISO is only about 6mb. However, after removing it, the CD drive still shows up when connected, just with no data. Any thoughts, or is this something a kernel dev/CM7(lol down with Sense!) is going to have to take care of?
In the programming menu the option was removed. Take the Incredible for instance, you could disable it, but not so on the TB for now. Unless someone figures out a way to change it Im out of ideas, but removing it worked for me.

Well at least removing it gets rid of the autorun prompt. Good enough for now, and I'm sure the CM team will figure it out.
Root here. Didn't work for me. I can't mount my sd card through my phone after deleting that file.
I did flash adrenalyn's 1.9 kernal some days before which may be the cause of my having a different result from others in this thread however I think it's a good idea to DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE ATTEMPTING!
or at least rename the file with a .old or .bak extension, whatever ya like... luckily I have the backup from before the kernal flash
would logcat be able to track down what's being accessed while the phone is mounting volumes while enabling disk mode?
Rather than removing it, I replaced it with an ISO of my own that has the Tether for Android setup exe and dmg, and a few other misc files I might need
I have a Xoom 3g (USA) that I'm about to put on craigslist; anyone know how to reset it so that it's stock (no personal info). I know that there's files on there that are not deleted if you reset it, I'm looking for something that will reset ALL of the files back to stock (like you can do with an iPhone...).
***edit: Sorry, probably should have put this into Q+A... If an admin wants to do so, that would be OK...

Technically you should have put it lol..
but before you get flamed... this is how:
factory reset and hook it up to the computer then delete every folder/file off it.

I don't think I can delete "every file and folder" can I? Won't that mess up the Xoom?

no, you dont have access to files that are crucial to the xoom functioning correctly through the pc. If u dont want to mess with adb and img files then do my method. It's the same way like cellphones, you can delele everything off your sd card and the phone will still function.
I just checked nothing of importance is on the /sdcard folder so u can delete away. You don't have access to /sys or folders like that.
Yea thats another simple way to do it. Just remove all synced accounts and user installed apps, go into the sdcard folder and clean up the cache and program data folders there.
same question
I did all of the options available in recovery, and there is still data on the unit.
0/
legacy/
obb/
is my file structure.
I can't believe there's no way to wipe this thing (like new from the store) so I can pass it along.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
I'm good to use ADB or fastboot if needed.

actually, that doesn't do it. I bought a LTE xoom from a UK buyer who did that, and when I installed MXplayer, I was greeted with some lovely videos...
best thing to do to reset a xoom for resale is described in the link below:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-restore-and-relock-a-motorola-xoom-tablet/
this will completely reset the device to factory standards.

Unlocking/relocking the bootloader should do it. You could do fastboot commands to wipe each partition I guess too.

Hello,
I uninstalled Snapchat form my phone and when SD Maid asked me to delete its data I mistakenly hit yes. SO all my pictures and videos I had taken using Snapchat got deleted. Is there any way to restore them or are they gone forever ? I don't have a SD card on my phone and my phone is rooted. All the Snapchat pictures and videos were stored on my internal memory.
Is there any solution to this? Did the same just now with hike.
Yes
PhotoREC
You could search on Google to find a Snapchat files recovery app. This tool may help you detect and extract file from recycle bin.

Not so sure SD Maid uses the recycle bin at all. No provision for it in its settings... it's quit efficient.

SD maid pro is deleting all of my photos/whatsapp images , i search on youtube and google to find some help , and none of those is working , and recycle bin is not helping too , SD maid pro is deleting photos of my friend that passed away 2 years ago ( , PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP TO GET MY PHOTOS BACK.
With the exception of newest Samsung phone's a Recycle Bin doesn't exist on Android, hence advising people to try to recover deleted files from Android Recycle Bin is a false proposition.

Nor can I think of a solution; SD Maid is quit thorough*.
You should back all critical data at least twice... won't help this time though.
Only two kinds of users; those who have lost data and those who will.
Been there, done that.
* I use SD Maid Pro with no issues but you need to be very careful about what you set it to do!

Hi,
i had root my O+7 pro and didn't seen the warning that it's wip datas ...
is there any way to recover theme?
Thanks a lot in advance
You can try disk recovery from the play store and give it root permissions, but I can't say if it will recover anything. But to be fair, there were warnings given when unlocking the bootloader, etc about the wiping of data. So possibly a hard lesson learned
Always backup... Backup... Backup... Even if just doing an update. Since you are rooted now I would get titanium backup and do a backup before any update or flashing that u r not comfortable with and back up to Google drive or push to an OTG also back up ur sdcard files by manually moving to an OTG or use twrp to backup data to an OTG... Preferably before u set a pass code or pin securities. Hope u can recover bud.
i'll try the first solution.
in all the case i'll use a good backup solution after that. and i know, i usualy alaways backup but idn, this way my brain had decided it was useless *facepalml*

No other idea? even through adb or a soft, even not free solution? :/
i don't understand why nothing work
i had almost writte no data since i had root, and my phone has 256Go
even by writte a little with the root process and install 3 app, i couldn't writte 256Go so... why nothing work? why realy no data is found? that's not strange? :/
Maybe you can dumb and pull your userdata partition to an .img file via adb to your pc and then use softwares like recuva to recover data on windows, i don't guaranty it will work , but it's Worth the shot, i tried it one time when i had the OPO (i changed to f2fs partition without backing up and lost everything) annnnnnnndddddd...... no i found nothing lol, but maybe you can find since it's a different type of format i guess" but worth a try

There is no data found because it is encrypted.
All phones that ship with Android 6 or higher have user data encrypted by default from first boot, without the user enabling encryption.
This is intentionally designed to protect against data recovery by an attacker.
Even if you don't use a PIN or password, Android creates a random encryption key to secure the data. When the phone is wiped the keys are deleted making it difficult to recover data without said keys.

Not possible. The encryption keys are protected by what is called hardware-backed encryption. The Snapdragon chip binds the keys to a specific device so the data can't just be copied to a computer and recovered. It would take a major security flaw (that hasn't already been patched) to get through this system.
It is designed to be very secure. It is also used to protect fingerprint data and Netflix DRM.

2. Are you rooted.
if it was recent there is a chance. Limit ur phone usage and do not download anything if you want s chance.

Well, with unrooted it’s much much harder. You can try the “dumpster” app. There is more advise form the video above. Try it all, and if it doesn’t help, idk.
