[Q] How to extract STOCK kernel and recovery from md5?

Hello,
Bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8010) last Sunday and rooted it yesterday. I did a full backup from Clockworkmod recovery.
So the question is, how do I extract the STOCK recovery and the kernel into ODIN flashable files from the stock firmware.
I have the stock firmware downloaded onto my pc and its .zip which contains the .md5 and the .dll
So does anyone know how to extract the kernel and the recovery from the .md5 file into odin flashable files?
I want to do this just in case anything goes wrong (not that im new to rooting)
Devices: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8010) [rooted]
Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) [rooted]
Huawei Ideos X3 (U8510) [rooted]
P.S. Im sorry if this exact question was asked before...

BUMP, I'd like to know this too.
Here's link to stock recovery - http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote10.1/recovery/N8000_StockRecovery.tar , just restore your backup, go to supersu in apps directory and unroot. Then flash Stock recovery through ODIN... Takes only a few seconds flashing recovery, takes a while flashing whole rom...
Make sure you backup your stock backup onto the PC in case sd card dies or, if internally stored, you loose it somehow...

[Q] Installing CWM on n8000

I've been searching for methods to install CWM on my note 10.1, I've just found Odin method and manual method, and my doubt is: Can I install CWM directly from Rom Manager? Do I need to ROOT first? All other methods are too hard or too risky to a noob like me!
I want to install Cyanogenmod and I need CWM.
Someone could help me?
Nobody is going to help me? :crying:
No, You need to install CWM first then the device can be rooted. until now the safest way to install first CWM on the device is via Odin. then you can do everything include install new updated CWM via CWM itself. You only need is samsung drivers and Recommended version Odin to your device. At first I'm a little scare to install CWM via Odin but Now It's Fun. You Should Try with Caution of course. LEARN with Caution for the first timer.
God Bless
I'm N8000 user. My ROM was XXCMG2 Deodexed By Darkman installed via CWM 6.0.3.6
Just follow zedomax's guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152
It looks complicated, but it really isn't. Watch is video and follow him step by step, and you'll be rooted in no time.

[Q] samsung galaxy s3 mini g730a

Hi everyone,
I am trying to flash a custom ROM that I created (Android 4.2.2 downloaded from google repo and kernel downloaded from samsung opensource) to my SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 mini SM-g730a (AT&T). The problem is that this phone seems impossible to flash with unsigned or non-samsung roms!
I tried to upload boot.img and system.img through heimdall and it gives me an error (ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!).
I tried to upload it with ODIN but gives me an error (Security check error)
I tried to create a zip with Android Kitchen and install it from the recovery mode and this time the error is about the sign of the zip. I tried to look for a customized version of recovery mode but I could not find one compatible with this phone. So, I cannot install it from the zip since I cannot sign the zip as samsung.
At this point I am tempted to take the phone and flush it in the toilet!!!
Any suggestion or anyone that could install a custom ROM?
Thanks
Marco
Your phone needs to be unlocked.
This is a little late but safestrap was just ported to the g730a.
I find Root
