[Q] Have the RAM issues been fixed yet? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I owned a Moto G 4G, It had a problem with force closing apps, launcher redraws and the rest, some issue with managing RAM and killing apps. I bought a 2014 Moto G, same issue. Anyway I foolishly bought a Nokia 930 and am looking to go back to Android as cheaply as possible so am wondering if these issues got fixed with Lollipop?

This has been fixed for Moto G, and I assume it has been fixed for the Moto 4G as well.

[Q] is there no way to have hdmi-out?

someone from the Motorola says moto g doesn't support MHL, so does it mean moto g never can have hdmi-out? I want to be able to play games on the big screen without lags.
No, though (I'm still waiting confirmation) but it looks like the KitKat update may well enable Miracst instead.

Cyanogenmod on Moto G

Hi!
As a Moto G owner I was wondering if there were any benefits of installing Cyanogenmod on the Moto G, seeing as Moto G runs a vanilla version of Android anyway, any thoughts?
Thanks
i have the same doubt

The CM11 is even lighter on resources than the stock Android. It also brings plenty of useful features without you needing to install them separately like Torch, ability to turn on & off features straight from notification bar which is extremely convenient. You can also add more entries of your choice in said bar, e.g. network data preference (2G or 3G). Not just this, but the CM11 comes with a beautiful File Manager out-of-the-box which even puts my paid Solid Explorer to shame; although the UI is very identical. You'll definitely feel the difference once you start using it yourself. Even tiny things like changing hostname alone make it a worthwhile practice.
EDIT:
I also agree with what @Durteedee said, GravityBox should bring many of CM11 features to stock Android if you don't want to deal with flashing and stuff.

[Q] AOSP for Moto G LTE (XT1045)

Is there a ROM that is extremely close to AOSP for this version of the phone yet? I've just moved away from a Google Play device, and I'm tired of finding subtle differences I don't like and then working out how to fix then because it doesn't seem to be stopping.

[Q] Should I buy the Asus Zenfone 5 with Android 4.3 or Moto G with Android 4.4?

his phone ships with Android 4.3 Jellybean and is the same price as Moto G which ships with kitkat but I like the design of this phone better than the Moto G and it has a 5 inch screen vs 4.5 on Moto and Asus has promised a Kitkat update. However I am sure Moto G would get Android L and Asus has made no such announcement for Zenfone. So what I want to know is whether Android L is so dramatically different than Kitkat?Otherwise I will just ignore the design and buy the Moto. Thanks in advance for helping
Has expandable memory? Bigger screen?2gb ram? ZenUI and it will surely get AOSP rooms.. so its a good deal.

Are you sure that Zenfone 5 is gonna get AOSP ROMS?
3-4 hour battery-life, sluggish performance in games.

It's highly likely, considering the Moto G hasn't even been out a year (flagship phones usually get 2 year support) and there is no technical reason I'm aware of that would rule it out.
moto g for me..you will not regret
Intel phones are gash!! I had a orange San Fransisco and it wasnt good..
No apps worked or very little because it was a intell processor. Don't get it

I would go for the moto g, I have the same dilemma with you. And I bought moto g. Moto g has official software support from Motorola, and an active XDA development section. Considering that Zenfone 5 has an Intel processor, the rom on zenfone 5 will be fewer. I've bought a Chinese phone without any good custom roms and that was painful to me.

App compatibility issues has been addressed by Asus using OTA updates. There has been a few ota updates since zenfone has been out in the market. I admire Asus for addressing issues quickly. anyways..
Ask yourself if you love playing around with roms and like to experience vanilla android on your device, if the answer is yes then go with Moto G. Don't expect any aosp roms for zenfone 5 anytime soon. But, I'd still get the zenfone 5. It's a matter of personal preference. Even if we advice you with so many things about the pros and cons of both devices, at the end of the day it is still your money. Just follow your heart. LOL.
Moto G undoubtedly

Find a detailed explanation for your question here techno4use.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/best-budget-smart-phone
Asus Zenfone 4.5
Asus has the Zenfone 4.5 or Zenfone 4 A450cg on pre-order from flipkart now. That thing matches moto g in size.
Asus has heating problems. And from developer's point of view Moto G is way better .
Hang on moto g 2 is coming in market on 5th September those who prefer 5 inch screen wait for it otherwise moto g on discounted price is steal to deal and have belief on Motorola because it had Google tag over it

Moto G 3rd gen + galaxy apps & s health + gear fit manager

Dear all,
I'm the new happy owner of a Motorola Moto G third generation (16GB / 2GB RAM).
Formerly I had a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini with the galaxy apps preinstalled and other apps... who were running with my Samsung Gear Fit bracelet.
Now with my Moto G, I can't find Galaxy Apps in the Google Play store... and I found 4 versions of Galaxy Apps on Internet, scanned 'em on my Moto G with AVG antivirus, and tried to install them, but no one installed on the Moto G.
So does anyone have a solution to use Galaxy Apps + other Samsung apps on my Moto G please?
Kind regards,

Some Samsung apps only work with Touchwiz, you are unable to use 'em in a non Samsung device unless you manage to convert it or found a compatible one.
Thanks for the answer.
What do you mean by unless I convert or find a compatible one ?
Hi,
Actually, I couldn't manage to install GALAXY APPS on my moto g yet, but I found a cool post giving a link to the "gear fit manage" app working on lollipop (as it was bugging on lollipop w/ cyanogenmod).
I'll keep you posted.
C ya,
