Is there a ROM that is extremely close to AOSP for this version of the phone yet? I've just moved away from a Google Play device, and I'm tired of finding subtle differences I don't like and then working out how to fix then because it doesn't seem to be stopping.

someone from the Motorola says moto g doesn't support MHL, so does it mean moto g never can have hdmi-out? I want to be able to play games on the big screen without lags.
No, though (I'm still waiting confirmation) but it looks like the KitKat update may well enable Miracst instead.
Hi!
As a Moto G owner I was wondering if there were any benefits of installing Cyanogenmod on the Moto G, seeing as Moto G runs a vanilla version of Android anyway, any thoughts?
Thanks
i have the same doubt

The CM11 is even lighter on resources than the stock Android. It also brings plenty of useful features without you needing to install them separately like Torch, ability to turn on & off features straight from notification bar which is extremely convenient. You can also add more entries of your choice in said bar, e.g. network data preference (2G or 3G). Not just this, but the CM11 comes with a beautiful File Manager out-of-the-box which even puts my paid Solid Explorer to shame; although the UI is very identical. You'll definitely feel the difference once you start using it yourself. Even tiny things like changing hostname alone make it a worthwhile practice.
EDIT:
I also agree with what @Durteedee said, GravityBox should bring many of CM11 features to stock Android if you don't want to deal with flashing and stuff.
I owned a Moto G 4G, It had a problem with force closing apps, launcher redraws and the rest, some issue with managing RAM and killing apps. I bought a 2014 Moto G, same issue. Anyway I foolishly bought a Nokia 930 and am looking to go back to Android as cheaply as possible so am wondering if these issues got fixed with Lollipop?

This has been fixed for Moto G, and I assume it has been fixed for the Moto 4G as well.

I have a Samsung Note 3 (SM-N900P) on Android 5.1.1. I removed the stock OS that the phone came with and installed CM 12.1 (CM12.1-20160807-NIGHTLY-hltespr) Ever since I installed CM, I started having a lot of issues with my GPS both with google maps and with other apps that require usage of GPS services like PokemonGo for example. On this particular issue the carrier is a bit irrelevant, because the Note 3 I own used to be with Sprint, but then I switched to AT&T and I use a Moto E to tether the Note 3 (plus I didn't have money at the time to get the same phone but from AT&T). I've tried looking for relevant topics on how to "configure" the GPS, but i havent seen anyone so far with a similar situation as mine.

Hello, i am looking for best rom for my XT1541 with 1gb ram. I dont need super stuff, just smooth and performance. Can you recommend something for me?
Either use stock without any gapps and moto apps (just remove them and it will be fine) and use Yalp Store as a Play Store replacement or Slim7 latest unofficial build (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329064522). Make sure you download a messages app in case you use Slim7 since it doesn't come with one. I wouldn't advise using Oreo ROMs at the moment since they haven't matured enough yet. The only one that is looking promising imo is the AOSP one by Alberto97, again tho, not that great battery wise and camera is only working in Footej which doesn't offer the same quality as other options. If AOSP (original one) existed for osprey I think it would be ideal.
