Motorola RAZR - latest firmware

Hi guys, I have a question about my Motorola RAZR.
I have a brand TIM phone (system version 651.73.16_XT910.TIM.en.IT, build number 6.5.1-73_SPU9) and I'd like to change the firmware to Version: 651.73.30, SPU: 11 M1-2. Is it possible to flash directly with rsd lite 5.6 or I need a previous version of a en.EU stock version?
Tnx
Up! Any answare?

Best Course of Action for Rooting

Hi all,
I just got a Motorola Razr Maxx HD (XT912) off Craigslist ($50). The specs are below:
system version: 98.72.16
OS: 4.1.2
Kernel: Feb 1, 2013
Build: 9.8.20-72
Build Date: Feb 1, 2013
I received a notice that there is a software update to 98.72.165
Reading briefly within the forums, looks like there is a newer version (9.30.1)?
I would like to root, install TWRP, and maybe add a custom ROM.
I see that there is a root method now available for the latest version, but should I root now (and what is the most successful method), or install the OTAs, and then root?
I do not intend on using this as phone, just as a wifi device for my son (finally retiring the Charge).
thanks!
I believe your in the wrong section.
Your phone is a xt912 droid Razr maxx (not hd). Do not accept that update until you confirm there is a root method available. See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467
The newer droid RAZR maxx hd is a xt926 and its latest update is 9.30.1.
Your only option for recovery on the xt912 is safestrap by hashcode. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391900

Spoof android version on 4.2.2 maxx?

I don't want to update my maxx to 4.4 because of the inability to downgrade and reroot, but Motorola's latest app updates are only compatible with 4.4+. Is there any way I could spoof my android version to be compatible?

[Q] razr hd xt926 verizon kitkat

Kitkat 4.4.2
You have kitkat old virsion then use towelroot.apk
And you have latest kitkat 62-15.1 xml there is no way root...
What version are you on? Like Ikram said, use TR on the older version, or look up Hydrogen Peroxide for the newer version.
