[Q] WP7.8 iCloud mail sync issue - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I have HTC HD2 with installed and activated WP7.8.
Everything works just great but I can't find a solution, how to sync my iCloud mail with built in email program.
Always when I try to sync it shows error message with this error code: 800C2746
I tried to find a solution here on forums and also google but without success.
Is there anybody who knows the solution?
Thank you so much.
I tried to use "advanced setup" with these settings:
email address: [email protected]
incoming email server: imap.mail.me.com:993:1
username: [email protected]
password: mypass
outgoing (SMTP) email server: smtp.mail.me.com:587:1
outgoing server requires qutentication: yes
use the same username and password for sending email: yes
require ssl for incoming email: yes
require ssl for outgoing email: yes

Hotmail

Hi, how do i get hotmail on wm6 without having to go through hotmail.com on explorer. Don't like using MSN messenger either. Entourage for mac lets you use Hotmail like an IMAP/POP3. Can this be done on wm6? Windows live?
Cheers
if you have the pop3 smtp setting for a mail box
you can access it from any device which support those
settings it would be transparent for the device that it
was hotmail rather then a mail server at your isp
Er, looks like you can't get hotmail details. If you can if you subsribe to the premium hotmail service.
Found these but not sure?
Settings are:
incoming mail server: 195.137.042.007
outgoing smtp server: 195.137.042.007
port: 110
user name: your hotmail user name
password: your hotmail password
think gmail let one get access regardless

Yahoo mail support or not

Please tell me Android mail can receive yahoo email or not

Yes, it works great w/ the stock email app...just have to input the yahoo mail imap settings. You can set it to check every so often for new email and it notifies you as well.
May you tell ne how to set up. Thx

Another option would be to:
Login to the gmail account from your pc, go to settings, then Accounts and Import, then Import mail and contacts:Import from Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL or other webmail or POP3 accounts.
This way you dont have to have both email apps on the phone just gmail..
This worked for me.... Make sure Wifi is off.
2. Open the Email app.
3. Enter in full Yahoo email address and password.
4. Select MANUAL SETUP instead of “Next”.
5. Select “IMAP” and setup the following:
Username: [email protected]
Password: yourpassword
IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 143
Security: None
IMAP path prefix = Blank
6. Tap “Next”.
7. Set Outgoing server settings as:
SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
Security: None
8. Click “Next” and finish the rest of the setup
Yahoo Pop3 Mail instead of IMAP works also flawlessly with the stock application.
It is not work in HTC Legend, if turn off WiFi. The machine not let me go to step 6 and after step. Thx

K9 Email - anyone feel like helping me troubleshoot?

I am having difficulty setting up K9 email for my corporate email account. It is a Microsoft Exchange (and I believe 2003).
I keep getting an error:
Cannot connect to server. (Error with code 404 during request processing: HTTP/1.1 404 Resource Not Found)
I can use Touchdown and normal Android Email to sync just fine. I use K9 for my Pop email account, and I like it better (not to mention Touchdown requires you to use their calendar app and widget).
I can even log onto my Exchange account through the web, by using https://mail.serverXXX.com and my login ID and password.
Here is my basic setup:
USERNAME: mellojoe1234
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
WebDAV (Exchange) server: mail.serverXXX.com
Security type: SSL (if available)
Port: 443 (prefilled)
WebDAV (Exchange) path, authentication path, Mailbox path all left blank.
When I log into the webmail account I use:
https://mail.serverXXX.com, which gives me a pop up login box.
USERNAME: mellojoe1234
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The resulting website is https://mail.serverXXX.com/exchange
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing some info that I would need to get from the IT department?
any K9 experts lurking?
There are a few different instructions here:
http://code.google.com/p/k9mail/wiki/K9MailAndExchange
But even with this I still can't get it working and I've tried lots of different combinations.
The stock app links to Exchange to easily its a shame k9 doesn't as its a much better email app.

I was unable to get email from my isp even though it is POP and I entered all the correct settings. I now use k9 mail from the market and all my email accounts work.

My mom and dad have yahoo mail accounts, which I set up in the default mail app for them, and now they have yahoo's app, and let me tell you, most all of the questions they ask me needing help revolve around yahoo not working right or something.
I can't say definitively, but yahoo seems to have a lot of problems... On THEIR end.
I dropped yahoo like a bad habit a long time ago.
I recommend setting up email forwarding form your Yahoo account to your Gmail account. Problem solved!
When you set it up manually do you use these settings:
Incoming Server Settings
Username: <yourusername>@yahoo.com
Password: Your Password
IMAP Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Security Type: SSL (accept all certificates)
IMAP path prefix: blank
Outgoing Server Settings
SMTP Server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
Security Type: None
Require Sign In: Checked
Username: <yourusername>@yahoo.com
Password: Your password

I might want to do this for my mom. That's done through the account to be forwarded (yahoo), the destination (gmail), or both?
I can find out on my own, but if you drop back in and want to give me an easy answer that's ok, too.

Lrn2srch, n00b! Lolol
You have to set it up in yahoo, I don't remember if you set anything up in gmail, but you do have to click a link to confirm. If yahoo doesn't show the forwarding option, change the zone to yahoo asia. That's how mine is set so I can enable pop3.

[Q] Why can't the Email app access Hotmail

So my dad has a G2x and I tried to sync his hotmail email with the email app that comes in the G2x, but it wasn't able to connect, so I had to sync the email manually through the MS Exchange thing, but now the emails only show up in text form, no pictures or anything, just text.
My G2x was the same until I rooted it and installed CM7 but I don't want to root his phone. Is there any way to fix this problem?
EDIT: Nevermind, I did a manual setup not through MS Exchange. Incase anyone wants the settings for the manual setup, here they are for hotmail.
