I found this htc sense stock camera then i flashed it in my phone which i was using CM12, with custom recovery TWRP, its work greats than cm12 camera then i decided to share with you guys hope will work too.
my phone is htc desire 816 dual sim {a5_dug} i hope will work to other variant too, you can see the attachment down and the link to download the zip file then flash it via custome recovery

When you install CM ROMs they have their own camera and gallery but this help you to have stock HTC camera plus its gallery although your in CM ROMs ....that all.,.....
I currently have HTC Desire 816G Dual SIM. I just purchased it, haven't rooted it yet. The big problem I have with its pre-installed camera app is that it only has half the options the regular HTCs have. Most importantly it doesn't have a slow motion capture video mode, which is necessary for me.
Will I be able to use this camera app to an un-rooted device?
Yes you can use to an un-rooted device… just it need custom recovery, BUT I didn't test it on Htc desire 816G…… .so I can't say if will work perfectly……..

Thank you for the reply. Sorry, but how I do this? I am a newbie here, so I don't know so much. I downloaded the zip file on my PC, unzipped the content and sent it to my phone. But the file containing the camera.apk was not able to be installed. I am sure I am doing something wrong! Could you please be so kind as to tell me how to properly install it? Thanks again

You need to be unlocked and running a custom recovery to install this...
However if your still on stock, then why do you need the stock camera app?

Because the stock camera app of Desire 816 G is different from 816(with no G!). It has almost half the adjustments and the capabilities of the other. I don't know why they did that, but unfortunately it's true. And I am missing a specific thing, the ability to record in slow motion. It seems to be absent on my 816G. Of course there are 3rd party apps, but I'd like to use HTC's original if I could.

The ability to record in slow motion is not something you can do on your 816G. It's not because of the app, it's because the camera on the 816G just can't record at higher FPS.
Anyways, to flash this zip, you need to be rooted and running a custom recovery, there is a guide to that here on XDA.

816 does have a slow motion capture mode and while 816G has the same camera ,it only makes sense that it is a matter of software. Thank you for your reply and the info tho,much appreciated. I will root it after all and see if a custom Rom fits better to my needs.

It isn't quite true. Camera is controlled by the chipset and these models have quite different chipsets
Thank u so much for the app. It works on my D816 dual sim but ''photo booth'' doesn't work fine (doesn't save the picture) and also htc gallery is always like "please wait" and shows the loading shape don't know y
Will this camera work on single sim, and is it work only with stock gallery is it included in the zip, cause I don't like HTC gallery, I prefer another! And what do I have to do? To flash it only, or to wipe data and reflaah the ROM and the gapps again, cause the cm camera is included in the package which I m using?

You can flast it.. Then unstall the gallery by system app unstall from play store……

If it does work with anything besides MIUI, I'd imagine it'd only be AOSP roms, so no business sense. You can try though, drop it in system/app and set the permissions to match everything else. I don't even know if it works on CM7, will have to wait for someone to test.

i dont think this will work with sense because of the kernel. BTW the apk you posted worked for me on CM7. did they add anything new to it since may?
MIUI works on my Incredible Via running CyanogenMod. Works perfect too, best camera app I got. The Guy who gave me mine said run it in recovery, find the zip and install it. It will replace your stock camera from your rom.
I am running;
- 1.) MIUI Camera
- 2.) IncRom Camera
- 3.) LG Camera
All three work fine and perfect except the LG one is buggy for us incredible users. It needs an auto detect settings, put on the wrong one it malfunctions till you fix it right. I've never got the actual camera to work either.

Could you tell me a little bit more on how you installed this camera running CM7? I tried moving the apk to /system/app and changed the permissions, but i get force closes when I try to open it.
I have installed an older version of the MIUI camera before, but this one doesnt seem to work

Boot into recovery, make sure that the Apk is in a .zip
Go to install from Sd card, find where it is and install it.
Following the steps above but I did not notice a new change in the latest camera.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B5NO0V6S< In order to install the Apk we were given here you need to extract the MetaFilss folder from this zip. Then compress the apk and meta folder into a zip. I just did it, it works. If you want you don't have to do that, you can just install this one. But follow the steps above.

Or if you have root explorer you can just put the camera.apk into system/app folder. set the permissions and reboot.

Just in case anyone has forgotten or did not know, you can click the paperclip next to any thread to bring up a list of attachments. You can find apps for aosp roms in the cm7 thread.

if you are on sense then it would be a little bit difficult because the kernel controls the camera. so you would have to make a hybrid froyo / GB kernel to get froyo camera to work. if you are on ASOP its a little bit easier.

First :
Download Blackout ICS Rom from here :

Well, Full wipe , and then install that ROM.
After installing the rom, restart phone and make everything as needed. You will see that camera doesnt work.
Second :
You will need to find which camera chip you got... How to do that? Download Root Explorer

Install it to ur phone and make those steps:
Go to /sys/android_camera/sensor
Open Sensor with txt viewer...

4th Step : After you downloaded it and placed on ur phone's SD Card.
Go to recovery, choose 'choose zip file from sdcard' and choose the one you downloaded.
After Flashing is finished restart your phone and everything will work perfectly.

I did not install the mentioned ROM (Blackout ICS Rom) ever. It has the long press power problem or not?
One more question: ted77usa mentioned his patches are for Sense 4 but not mentioning for Sense 3.6. Have you tested the sense 3.6 with those 2 patches?

I just tried the Virtuous ROM and the camera fix worked for the camera, but broke wifi. So just be aware.

Yhe, thats the problem with Virtuous ROM.
In that way everything work, Wifi Camera Bluetooth, anything.
And to the one above me, it works without plugged usb.. No long press needed for me at least.

hmm.. kindly delete the second step. root explorer is a paid app.. and should not be downloaded for free like this..

This will break Wi-Fi, it's been stated countless times. Your years of searching seems exaggerated. Me thinks everyone should just wait for us to update our own Damn Rom and stop trying to do it for us. Unless you think you can do better then by all means do your own. We'll stop here and now if that's the case.

In post 6, it is mentioned that WIFI works and ... all works. It is better to put this thread to yours as a post. But where is your ROM? I was waiting yesterday night ... Take yr time.
So, what's the point of this thread exactly? There's already been others just like it, and someone has posted about it in each thread whether it was a Sense ROM or not.
While there's still a debate over whether it breaks WiFi or not (it didn't break mine) do we really need a bunch of different threads about the same fix?

If we flash one of the new kernels on 3.6 ( I've tested blackout 2.1 ) we have exactly the bugs XxXPachaXxX describes in his Bugtracker: freezing after turning bt off, non working camcorder, long press for wakeup ...
... For me 100% working is something different. This fix is braking much more then it's fixing. Even when WIFI is working for me but not for everyone.

Hello all!
So, the biggest request I've gotten for my GPE ROM was to port the Sense camera and Gallery over. For a long time, I told people it was impossible, largely because I was just too lazy to try it.
But, it turns out that when I did actually give it a whirl...it wasn't that hard to do.
Earlier iterations had issues with either the Gallery working correctly, or the duo effects being unavailable...until now.
So, it's with quite a bit of joy that I present to you a flashable .zip of the Sense Gallery and Camera that are 95% working. The only issue I currently have is that it does not record Zoes. However, duo effects, pano, split shot...all that good stuff works.
This has been tested on a M8 GPE ROM on Verizon, but I'm pretty confident that it will work on any other non-sense ROM, and any carrier. Heck, it might even work on other devices besides the M8. IDK. Give it a try.

Duo effects not working for me, everything else is fine. Verizon M8 on 12/9 edition of your ROM with latest lollipop firmware

I want to edit slow motion movies.
Installed fine on CM12, but like mentioned above, DUO effects weren't available. And video recording was only available at MMS size.

I think I figured out why Duo isn't working...it relies on the "stock" PhotoEdit app as well. I'm going to try to test this theory a little better.
Duo Effects were working for me on Team UB or Candy5 AOSP Rom, I don't remember exactly what rom I was on since I changed to a different one. Duo Effects take minute to take effect after selecting one.

I'm on stock gpe kinda following your mod. with your zip and the photo edit it does work with the duo effects, and all the seasons effects.
This is a mod that I've been waiting for! I have flashed the zip file, although I do not see any htc camera or gallery app upon reboot. Should I try re-downloading the zip?

Are you sure you don't see it? After flashing and rebooting I didn't have to do anythign special. HTC Camera is just called "Camera", so make sure you're looking in the right place

Edit: Yeah it is still missing. I re-downloaded the zip and flashed but nothing showing up. I'm 100% stock 5.0.1 from google (real gpe phone)
Flashed with Flashify and now I'm stuck on a black screen with the green droid and red triangle. Can't even turn the phone off.

Hi guys, I would like to present my work Veneno ROM for the HTC Sensation. Veneno ROM became very famous when it was released for the Nexus 5 and now it's your time to get your hands on it. one question can we use gapps from CyanogenMod 13 ivanich's thread and is it necessary to flash it via twrp?

I tried the ROM using TWRP.
The ROM flashed ok but after booting, I get messages of sense home FC. It keeps force closing sense home effectively making the ROM unusable.
Also, when flashing GApps, even pico size wont flash because there isn't enough space left in the system partition after flashing the ROM.

@Hammerhead2502 great job. Does this ROM also work with the BOOT-MOD-PLUS-4.04, with you get more application memory ?? I have'nt tried this ROM, but I would like too.

I don't know man. Didn't try. You'll have to try yourself. If it with works with cm13 then it will.

Yes, crashes every second after you tap OK. Also there is no keyboard - when entering wifi password on first boot settings - "speak now" shows

I tried it. It flashed okay (I used 4ext recovery). Works good, really responsive.
Bugs I found:
Camera doesn't capture pictures.(both front and back)
Video camera is broken.
EDIT:
Camera is working. My bad.
Video camera still broken.
And I cant install gapps even the pico package its says insufficient storage
I can fix the bugs but I don't have a device. I need a tester. If anyone's willing, PM me.

Yeah i'm just having a lot of issues with net these days. God, i hate the rainy season. Anyways i made a zip and will upload it and then send you the link. I removed some bulky apps so that we can get more free space on the system partition. And i think that'll work. But yeah you'll have to use pico gapps. Can't do anythng, the sense 7 htc apps are very large in size.

I flashed HTC 10 Camera by jishnu sir and it working well so anybodys not satisfying with cm based roms cams or OOS port try HTC 10 port its focusing as well no errors and can get clear photos

Its called camera and it doesnt replace and it comes with htc gallery also it doesnt replace gallery

I have only the google camera app called "Camera" with the old icon after flashing and no htc gallery. can you post a screen shot of the additional camera and gallery icons ? I am running Resurrection remix on my op3

Something is wrong either with the zip or with twrp.
I flashed successfully, but checking with root explorer shows all files are missing in the system partition.

Interesting, someone can post some pics in low artificial light, outdoor and indoor with both camera, oos and htc10,just only point and shoot? Thx i'm not rooted yet, i'm waiting for a good camera to flash cm ^^

Maybe because this is part 1 ( testing ) it will be fixed maybe other than slow motion everything working right ( i do not use slow motion )

anyone who using cm/aosp based rom please test flash in dark area where flash 1st fires for focus then capture images, for me its all white images with other apps, so i m stuck on oos.
