Wifi is On at the baterry status graph ?? - Sony Xperia M2

Hi all, in my M2 even i turn off the wifi, at the battery status graph it says my wi fi was always on.
The wi fi bar was all ways in blue color.
Is any one having this issue???

Yeah., I have been wondering the same. It probably has to do with the Stamina or WiFi settings, where we let Android managing the WiFi. Still don't worry, WiFi isn't the battery drainer. LTE with a crappy signal (like mine) is.

Ahhh.. nice to have a one like me having the same sort of thing.
.
I was thinking by having a costume rom i can get rid of this issue, But if i do that i have to get rid of the warrantor :crying:

I think it's because "Search is always available" (or something like that) is enabled in advanced Wi-Fi settings. I noticed that too.

[Q] Wifi bug!!

hello i dont know if this only happen to me, but whe i turn on the Wifi and it shows all the wifi signals, all of them shows full bars, but after i connect to any of them, then appears the real signal, so i know this is not a big deal but its little annoying to know which one is with the better signal because all of them appear full bars when it is not true :S
any help??
It's more of a workaround than a fix but there's a free app called Wifi Analyzer that can show you the exact signal strength in dB of all the signals it picks up, it's a pretty good app to have.

I think your declaration of "wifi bug," is a bit premature, considering the near complete lack of any details regarding the setup of your phone.
download other rom from rom manager and install.. it fixed my phone
good luck

i have tried like 4 different ROMS and all of them have the same thing.. all the Wifi signals appear with full bars but after i connect to any of them, then appears the real signal, but just after i connect to it, before, all have full bars when it is not true
I get this sometimes also. Usually turning off wifi for a few seconds and back on will fix it. There are some kernels that have a wifi bug. What kernel are you on?
Other times it can be my wireless signal that's the problem.

My WiFi does weird ****. Fluctuates and whatnot. My guess is it's radio related, as it does it more on the 04_11_M2 radio I'm running than it did on the OTA.
Not to mention the WiFi equipment at my house is hella lame. Plus my house has like 4000 walls all intersecting each other at weird places. And multiple stories. And I seem to be in the Bermuda triangle of wireless/radio waves.
Other than that, solid as a rock.

[Q] ICS Mobile data issue. Help appreciated

I am on mhx's ICS superlite ROM and today I found that my Voice calls are using way too much battery. The battery settings app shows no mobile network for most of the time (attached screen capture). However, I live in a area with good coverage and whenever I look at the phone its 4 bars or more. Anyone can see what might be wrong?
PS: the phone was in deep sleep at all the times when the screen capture shows no mobile network.

You either had to have no signal or were in Airplane mode. I only get black bars when I am on the subway or running Airplane. Do you have any JuiceDefender apps or anything that could be doing this?
im also experiancing the same thing...i have great signal all the time and no juice defender or any subway riding...maybe its just an ics thing

Yeah, on ICS I get the same blacked out signal. I have full signal though(-65dbm) and no JD or anything like that. Happens on every ICS rom. Im not too concerned about it though.

[Q] Airplane Mode and Battery Percentage

So, I was digging around the junk drawer and found my sister's old T-Mobile G2X. I figured I could use GrooveIP and Google Voice to have a good WiFi only work phone. After installing the latest CM7 nightly, I noticed the battery percentage was at 100% even though I hadn't Charged it in like a year. After some reading, I found that Airplane mode freezes the battery stats and gives you outdated battery data. My problem is, with airplane mode off, the battery stats work, but the cell standby is so outrageously high (60-80%) that the battery drains too quickly. Is there any way I can turn off data and get rid of the cell standby drain without airplane mode? I've tried *#*#4636#*#* and put preferred network type to CDMA and GSM/CDMA AUTO andd fiddled around with radio on off settings, but that enabled airplane mode. I'm running the phone without a sim card, should the cell radio even work? Sorry if I'm not making sense. Thanks for your help in advance.

WiFi is showing as on even when off

I looked at my batter stats, and it shows my WiFi as always being on even if it is off. Is anyone else seeing this? If so, is it just a glitch? Does anti e know how to stop it?

Thank you for this! I also noticed this and had no idea! Maybe after turning this feature off will help save some more battery life as well? Guess phones these days aren't so simple anymore, you would think when you turn wifi off that it is OFF! No, only off to some degree, lol. Damn phones these days always cheatin on us usin backdoors to get their way, haha!
Posted this on another thread. Maybe relevant to you here.
I seen this same issue, and I'm using nova.
I found a solution, that worked for me.
It seems there are two different WiFi setting pages, depending on how you get to them.
One way is settings > WiFi
The other is via quick settings swipe down > touch "Wi-Fi" below the icon.
I've seen the first way show WiFi as off while the second shows it on at the same time.
What I've found is that the only way to truly ensure it is off is via quick settings drop-down.
Hope that helps others.

Huge battery eating when cell connected (Not data) - MM fw.163

Hello.
I don't know why, but since I bird this phone I got huge problems with battery life. Since the phone was LP-powered, it was hard to get more than 2h when using normally. Now I'm on MM, and with both Stock and Custom (RomAur) roms I can't get more than 3h. But the thing is, if I go into Airplane mode, my phone gets really good in battery. But if I only turn the data off, it still drain the battery...
I've heard of something called "fast dormancy" by another thread. Is it the problem ?
What should I do ?
Thanks in advance. Daniel aka. _cab13_
what I do before is I set my network type to GSM if I am not using the phone for internet (like if I am on wifi). try to see if this helps.
I think your problem has something to do with mobile radio active bug.
No it is not. Radio active bug is related to Data. But data is not the problem. It's cell and calls connection. If I turn my data off, it still eats battery, but if I start Airplane mode, it's okay

I installed BBS and it shows me that PowerManagerService.Display and PowerManagerService.WakeLocks are the most eating wakelocks...
Any idea ?
