Last year in china i bought a chinese fake samsung tablet.
It should be a tab 9 note(never heard of it) but that doesn't matter for now. It is fine for some browsing and social media.
I got a new real samsung tablet, so i root the chinese one with kingoapp. Works perfectly!!!
The system is rooted and after reset there is in red the word DEMO on the screen. I looked over every setting, but all the demo settings are turned off. Also tried reset to factory defaults, but also no results?!?
Now i was looking to install a custom rom and hopefully solve the problem.
Already installed some custom rom apps, but all didn't recognized the tablet.
The model of the tablet is TW-900B
I have no idea what brand it is.
If someone needs more info, let me know!!

Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately I have to be the bearer of bad news, you're going to find out extremely hard to find custom ROMs for a fake/clone device as they simply don't exist. This is just the way it us with clone devices, sorry, and good luck.

As I mentioned in the title I am an uber noob when it comes to any sort of customization. I am travelling for 8 months, so I decided to pick up the HTC One S (first smart phone) instead of a laptop in Beijing because I thought it would be more useful. However, I'm already experiencing many difficulties.
Everything is in Chinese and I want English apps, but the Chinese app market loaded onto the phone has nothing in English. I have been searching through these forums trying to root my phone and flash a new rom onto it in hopes of accessing Google Play (I might need a VPN, too). However, some of the sites where I need to download software from (mediafire in particular) are inaccessible from where I am. How should I proceed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! (and please in fairly simple terms for my noobish brain to handle or something I'd be able to search online)

Before you try and unlock/root/flash your device, make sure it is an actual HTC One S, not some clone, and make sure you know whether you have an S3 or S4 model.

Does your phone look like one of these? In that case it does not have much in common with the One S versions in the rest of the world and you should absolutely not flash anything from xda. Even if it looks like the "normal" One S do as Jobo mentioned and pay attention to if it is a Z520e ("S4") or Z560e ("S3") and only flash stuff made specifically for your version. There should be a model number on the box.

I bought my first Tablet: Proline Smart AK888-13 (Please Google for it)
It's unfortunately a rebranded device sold under the Proline South Africa Brand.
Google Play reports I have a: Rockchip QPAD9700
Google however finds a few online store listings with no further information.
I tried visiting the Rockchips.com website, but did not find the Tablet listed there, as it seems they only manufacture the Chipset or CPU or some hardware which I'm not certain of.
I am really pleased with the device I have and I can't complain with it's features. I bought it for 1200 ZAR and due a shipping mess up I got upgraded from a 7" to the 9.7" free of charge.
I have a ZTE MF190 USB Modem that I would like to use on the Tablet with the supplied OTG Cable and this is the reason I have registered on XDA Developers in hopes of finding some assistance.
Currently when I connect the modem the Tab reports the SD Card is corrupt and needs to be formatted. The modem works perfectly on my PC running Windows 7 and I'm not going to format it.
I read online from a few friends that I should attempt using PPP Widget on Google Play, I downloaded it on the Tab and now the Widget needs Root Access.
I don't know how to Root the Tablet, since I don't what Tablet I have and I don't know want to mess up my device a mere week after I received it.
I would appreciate any advice or guidance.

So is there a way for me to create a backup of my firmware/rom or whatever you call it and then start playing around?
As i said. My mind says, start by identifying what you have, then do the rest. Does it work that way or not?

Thanx for the input samsammobile but I've softbricked the tab. It was rooted with kingroot. It was a proline H7516R. (Rockchip RK3126). If you know of a rom that i could flash it with please let me know. Thanx

i bought a samsung focus 2 from ebay not knowing it was originally a store demo model. it was on the 7.5 OS but was able to force the 7.8 official release onto it (just kept doing the update till it went through). but it didn't fix the issue with it loading the demo software once it would boot back up. i have followed all the ideas posted on here about doing soft/hard resets but know the info is stored on a portion of the phone that updates won't overwrite.
i have done my searches on here and they were never answered by the person who started the thread and were quite old as well. is there a generic ROM i can load that will block the demo or does anyone know how i can hack the phone (bootloader, registry) to stop or delete this nonsense.
i cannot get my money back for this phone as the person deleted their ebay/paypal account. i have been on the phone with both and it's just not going to happen. so my only option is to hack the phone.... i don't want to sell it to someone else knowing it has this problem as i know it will come back on me and i just don't have it in me to rip someone off like i was basically just done.
i'm extremely noob when it comes to hacking a phone or registry so would need it in simple instructions.
it seems like a nice phone and would be a great backup so i don't want to brick it or break it. i would like to eventually use it so anyones help would be greatly appreciated.

now that i look, i'm not 100% sure it actually updated to 7.8. it says it on the about screen, but it feels like it's still on 7.5... how can i be sure it's updated or not.

if you can find a custom rom for this device then that will do the trick but having looked at the focus 2 forum, it seems to be a device that has received no attention at all!
There are no unlocks, no roms, no nothing!
Mabie the other WP hacking sites might have one but on here there's nothing for that phone, strange!

Hi There I was just reading your post. I think you have a Focus 2? Well I have a Samsung Focus S, and it is also on demo mode, just finished debranding it and interloping it also. I also just finished disabling the demo mode. Don't know if it can also work on the Focus 2, it is just a registry edit. maybe it can work for you. Hello everyone. I am new in this forum.
The reason I registered is because I bought a ZOPO ZP700 about 5 months ago and I've been having serious problems with it. At first I thought that the touch screen sensor got screwed up because when I touched-selected an icon or option, the phone would select anything but what I wanted. I cannot even type a proper SMS or punch in a password because the phone has a mind of its own and it types characters by itself. It pops up windows by itself and if I'm lucky enough I get to tap-select the option I want after like 10 tries. I have also noticed that it goes even crazier if it's plugged in the power charger.
I have also attached a little video to show what's going on.
I am using the original ROM the phone came with (it was already rooted by default) and Android 4.2.2.
I read somewhere that ZOPO has officially published Android 4.4 Kitkat for the ZP700 model but I cannot install it using the phone's default update app. I have downloaded it separately but I keep having problems using the flashtools, etc. I'm a rookie with such stuff.
Is there anyone who can help? I would like to install Android 4.4 or at least be able to flash the ROM, well, if that's the issue here.

Hi , im new here and really need some advice.
I purchased a Z3 this week and bought it second hand , even though it is new but without box. I found out it has the dreaded demo app installed because i think it was ex-display in a phone shop. Once i plug in the charge it deletes my photos,contacts,apps etc. and comes up with the demo video. Iv'e tried the codes people usually use and done something else using the computer someone suggested ,but nothing works. I was thinking about rooting the phone but after looking on forums i can't seem to find anything to explain how to root it or even if it's possible yet because its a new phone. Iv'e tried to delete the app it has but it just keeps coming back. So need to find someone way that is like rooting the phone to get access to delete it permanently.
