[Q] Need ROM with WORKING Bluetooth Voice Dialing - HTC Desire S

Anyone have a truly 'working' ROM that does BT dialing? I must have tried a dozen or more ROMs for my Desire S ranging from v2.3 up to v4.2 and still haven't found an 'every day' driver that has working Bluetooth Voice Dialing. Note: car kit doesn't count, has to work from headset. Have to be hands-free in CA. Oh, and I have to take job-site photos so camera has to work with no 'lock-ups'. I am very eager to DONATE to a working ROM effort.

Me too
I have this issue

ROM Recommendation for VOIP

Can u guys recommend me which is the best ROM for VOIP to work properly? Does the front speaker issue still exist in WM 6.1?
I understand using headset is the only option to get the voip working , but was wondering if there's solutions out there already?

SIP based service..I use www.pennytel.com
I am already using voip on my kaiser with official WM 6 ROM, but sound comes from the rear speaker
Front speaker issue is device dependent not WM version. AFAIK only a few devices work correctly. These devices had native VoIP at one time too. My latest VoIP cab (located here) can also connect with the GSM610 codec (kudos to dridders for figuring this out) which is much more efficient over a 3G connection. It also eliminates the one-way audio issues.
As an added benefit, the installation will work over a bluetooth handsfree as well. I've actually connected up over 3G then handed the phone functions off to my car handsfree w/o issues. Audio quality doesn't match GSM of course but its usable. For the most part this is a technology demo however. The only time I've found it really useful is when I'm in WiFi coverage but have no phone service.
I use asterisk with some providers such as pennytel ( Australia ) and other european providers. I'd really love to have my Kaiser working properly over WiFi (I didn't try over 3G yet).
I use to have a Hermes that was working properly (Ear Speaker) - though there was a lot of jitter - I now moved to the kaiser and VoIP (SIP) is finally working properly (no jitter) but only through the loudspeaker. I now have to use a headset...
I'd really like to have this finally working. I'm currently stuck to two stage dialing through asterisk (with unlimited plan to a few numbers) to use VoIP from my Cell.
Does anyone have some background info on how the VoIP plugin should be talking to the ear speaker (does it have to go through the "radio rom"? is it seen as a secondary speaker? etc.) and if anyone has ever fixed such an issues with other WM6 handsets?

As you are on the same boat, can I ask you which Bluetooth headset are you using? There are quite a few headset recommendations out there, but I wanna know from someone who is using it for voip. Thanks

Hey Sleuth, does your cab include the schap's setupvoip program?
Hi guys,
I use Sleuth's WM6VoIP and Schap's Setup VoIP version 0.3, had no problems getting it to work, tested both WiFi and HSDPA. Only thing is that I have to use the headset or BT cause of the well known WM back speaker issue.
I have no problems connecting to company's PBX thru WiFi using VoIP Setup, can register and make calls.
When I use the OpenVPN to tunnel to corporate network my SIP softphone application keeps registring using the WiFi network card IP address, not the TAP VPN adapter's one. Therefore voice can't be routed correctly
1. Is there a way to choose which Network adapter to use when using Internet calling and VoIP Setup?
2. Can anyone recommend any other application that's 'smart' enough to have the option of selecting the network adapter to use?
Thanks,
T.
VOIP while connected via USB?
Is it possible to use voip on kaiser when the device is connected to Internet via active sync USB method? sounds stupid, but if there's this would b a good solution to use voip in office where certain ports are blocked in office wifi.

Bluetooth fileshare on Hero?

Hello all,
I have pulled the Bluex program from one of the other build an ion version and trying to get it on hero. But any time that I search for devices i get an error "Error in local device (power disabled?)" any one know why that it does that or how it can be fixed. any help would be geratly appreciated.
The Hero Bluetooth drivers are all messed up, that's why it's not working.
sorry 4 OT, but
imho there should be no support for apps, which you have not bought in the market!
uh..
I don't think he's trying to pirate software, I think he just wants bluetooth transfers. I understand his desire as well, as I also like transferring pics and music through bluetooth.
Caid.

Yeh I am not trying to pirate software at all. It was included in one of the other builds that i have downloaded from here before. It did work on the build. I am able to use the bluetooth on the Hero rom for calls and music just that this application don't work. Just was wondering if anyone knew if I can just try and use the bluetooth files from the other build and push into the Hero rom but as I was looking over everything it does not seem to be just a overlay but a different version of the OS not just standard 1.5 with a fancy UI as I had thought. Does anyone know how that I can pull the config files from the 1.5 and put on hero I have had no luck so far.
bluetooth issues
I can get the Hero bluetooth working for stereo but it won't connect for calling.
I'm attempting this with my car's bluetootn (2009 acura tsx)
I can start a call but when someone answers, there's no sound.
Once again, bluetooth stereo works like a charm.
Tried a bluetooth stereo headset with exactly the same result,
Any ideas?

Theres usually different profiles that handle a handsfree connection to your car, and different ones that handle audio, so in this case A2DP for stereo headset. Other then that, I would know nothing else on how to go about fixing it. Unless your up for a complete reflash...

I also have the 09 tsx and been trying to get my magic to transfer my contacts to the car but doesnt work. nk02's ion rom works flawless on cars. the hero roms not so great. maybe we have to wait for the next update from google to get proper contact transferring among other profiles?
I have the same problem
and as it to see, there is no solution so far.
I have the same problem with Hero ROM.
When I want to send file this error appear: error in local device (power disabled?)
And I can not receive any file.
Can anyone solve this problem?

Navigon Mobile Navigator leaves phone speaker enabled when connecting to bluetooth.

Android Froyo, HTC Desire HD with Navigon Mobile Navigator.
I can connect the phone to my car stereo through Bluetooth. Everything works fine. I can receive and make calls and music routed through to Bluetooth perfectly. When I use Mobile Navigator the turn-by-turn instructions come through the phone speaker, then a second later they also come through the bluetooth connection to the car. The beginning of the bluetooth instruction is also cut off. I can't find anywhere to explicitly disable the phone speaker when audio is routed to Bluetooth, although other apps don't seem to suffer from this. Anyone know a hack?
Same Problem here. sound is routed through bluetooth and phone speaker while bluetooth is cut off. I assume the Navigon software has a bug here. I hope they fix it soon
unfortunately I did not find any workarround or fix till now
anyone?
I had a workaround using car UI by beemer. Unfortunately after upgrading to android 2.2.1 I can't make it work anymore but am not sure where the problem lies as even downgrading again through backup-restore left the same problem. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has a magic trick for producing the right combination of settings as I know this was working before with a 2.2.0 based rom and car UI.

[Q] Help request: CM7, tts & bluetooth

Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. I've searched the xda forums, T-Mobile forums, Cyanogen forums and Google. All to no avail.
I'm a big user of hands free dialing. I've used Choice Dialer and Cyberon Voice Commander in the past. They both worked w/stock.
I'm using CM7 Nightly 74, and both CD and Cyberon work fine, as long as I'm not connected to BT. Once connected to BT, the programs will open when asked, but will freeze, not giving or asking for any commands. And they generally end in a FC.
The stock voice dialer program works, as it doesn't have to give "verbal" commands. I just hate having to take my eyes off the road and hands off the wheel to choose from a list of possibles.
I understand that A2DP is not working in CyanogenMod, but does this also apply to tts commands? Since tts comes in over the phone part of my BT device (and not the media), I didn't think the A2DP issue applied.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
G2X p999
CyanogenMod 7 (Nightly 44)
KD-BT1 (bluetooth stereo)
I'm running CM nightly 97 and still can't get pico tts to work over bluetooth. I've tried both enabling device media (A2DP) and disabling it, it makes no difference.

[Q] Small question for pp with ICS rom

Small question for the pp that have been playing with the ics rom. have any of u guys played with the bluetooth options. just wondering if they fixed the ability to call from the bt (press button on bt say call john and have the phone call). i have looked up what i can but have not seen if the new ics takes care of it. by the way i am using the blueant q2. i have also tried alot of third party apps none work for starting the call from the bt.
Also i am on stock rom and non rooted
anyone
Anyone with the ICS leak have trouble with the bt. Or do flashing roms fix that issue to begin with if so i probably will root and flash anyway.

I have mhx's full bloat ROM ICS. Bluetooth works fine. Streaming music almost all the time to my stereo.
Re the voice dialing, I think you are talking about a hands-free bluetooth headset. That works fine as long as your headset supports it.
Good Luck!
thanks
yes i was talking about the bt voice dialing. the ability to click the bt and have the phone respond a lot of pp have been having trouble with it on stock ROM. the phone is really picky, and doesn't work with a lot of bt's. i have the blueant q2 which is a good bt but won't start the call from the bt. I figure when ics comes out and if they don't have if fixed by then was just gonna root and see if the roms out there have fixes

Sadly, not many custom ROMs concentrate on bluetooth.
Actually, even with my phone and setup, bluetooth requires a little fidgeting. It can lose connection occassionly. BUT it picks up a whole lot of devices with ease....
