heyy..guys m new can u ppl explain what is difference between boot.img & kernel or it is one & the same.. m confused
i think both are different boot.img and kernel.img ,i guess boot.img is responsible for booting a android phone,as i seen in my case i have sony xperia E3 (D2212) and after switching on my phone i see a blue colour moving image and that is combination of images and phone startup sound, and i don't know more about kernal img file
No they aren't. Kenel is a software that controls the input by the user and sends it to hardware. But boot.img is series of images grouped when you switch on it appears as video that is as boot logo. Hope it helped:good:

while flashing,is your tipo's battery percentage is more than 50% to 60%?
first charge your battery.
what custom recovery?
you want to say custom kernel or fxp kernel or boot.img.
for cm10:
extract cm10.zip on pc
open flashtool
connect your device
flash button
fastboot mode
select kernel to flash
select boot.img(if you can't see boot.img in extracted folder then change type to *.img )
disconnect device after flashing kernel
when violet bar light will appear continuously press volume down button
flash cm10.zip
for stock:
copy downloaded ftf file to C:\Flashtool\firmwares
open flashtool
flash button
flashmode
select downloaded ftf file
flash
after connect your mobile screen connect your mobile in flashmode
after flashing remove device and start device(1 start take 4-5 min)
I rooted my Sony Xperia E and then unlocked the bootloader and my phone went into bootloop . After that searched a lot on forums and tried every possible thing using different ROMS and flashing but the device gets out of FLASH MODE and the error shown on the LOG is make sure your device is not in MTP mode . Any way i can get back my phone to normal ??
Put any rom on your sdcard.Just flash a custom kernel, which is compatible with the rom. Mostly if the rom is CM, kernel is inside zip. Flash the kernel using fast boot mode. Do wipes as instructed on the thread of the rom you copied to sdcard and install it. Reboot.
Hi All
My Moto G only shows a Black Screen
I am unable to use the phone.
Normal use:
Turn it on
Moto Logo & Boot animation
Black Screen (with black light on)
Unable to use the phone, nothing but a black light
Trying to Factory Reset.
Turn on with Volume Down and Power Key
Scroll down to Factory and select with Volume Up
Phone reboots
All options in recovery does this, the phone reboots with Boot animation and black screen.
Any Suggestions on solving this?
Is fastboot working cz if u bricked it while installing some custom ROM recovery then try flashing the stock file (firmware and blah everything) but if u did it while doing something else like upgrading bootloader then w8 for some experienced user to help u here's the thread to help u using fastboot

I'm working on creating a patch for camera in SAOSP for android one devices and I've identified some lib.so files to be faulty but when I replace these files directly or from recovery the phone never boots its stuck at bootlogo doesnt even go for the boot animation i.e a bootloop

Hello,
Those are blob files and are not to be touched.

Used Z5-DSDS_SK_Perm_v376_III.3_3_ctl_X_sum_dual kernel (Boot.img)
Used E6883-Kernel-TWRP-Fixed.zip (Recovery.img)
Used the tutorial from youtube.com/watch?v=dTlosea6SJE&t=165s
Now my phone wont start (stuck on white sony startup screen)
Does not appear on ADB devices\
What can I do to fix it?
