I've found that if you go to google settings and delete search history, the camera gets restored. Do a soft reset and it should work.

happens to the original g flex, (especially the clicking sound)
try using google camera

I have had my Inspire since the end of Feb and haven't had any real issues with it. Camera has been working great and I love snapping photos that I can share on FB so easily...I went to that the other day and found my camera is stuck on the Posterize mode eventhough my settings are at "normal".
I tried installing a different camera app (using default app) and got the same result
Any suggestions? I have tried a soft-reboot to no avial. Do I need to wipe the whole phone and do a reset to factory settings?
Have you dropped your phone recently, or at all? If so, all you have to do is press the camera lens back into place. Mine was similar to this, and after pressing the lens back in, the picture quality was back to normal.
If pressing the lens DOESN'T work, go to:
settings > applications > Camera > force stop & clear data
That should also help. Hope this works for you
The camera app fails to open. It shows a blank screen and error message saying "phone can't connect'. There is also an audible beeping when I open the camera. Also, no other camera apps from Google Play work (3rd party cameras, instagram, etc).
This started happening when I flashed 4.4 CM, but I also had hardware replaced on my phone around the same time. This makes it harder to diagnose.
What I've done, to no avail:
clear phone data / cache
full data wipe
reinstal lAOSP camera apk
/cameradata fix from xda thread
Clean flash new ROM
Restore AOSP & TW ROMS
Odin to barebones 4.1 stock
Camera app still can't connect. Since I Odin'd back to stock, and problem still persist -- I believe it's a hardware issue. Like a misaligned pin connecting the camera. I'm going to have it looked at, but opened a thread to get any reassurance or alternative suggestions.
Additional Edit:
I typed in *#22745927 to enable hidden menus, and then *#0*# for General Test Mode. The "Mega Cam" (Back-facing) still has same error message. I strongly think it's hardware now.

Sounds like hardware issue. You mentioned that you replaced hardware, possible check the connectors. It happened once to me when I took my phone apart and the connector is not flush to the board. In my case I press on the camera lens and the connector snap back into place.
The camera was working gracefully until after a reboot it just stopped.
As soon as I open the camera app, I get a popup saying "Camera Busy".
I have even tried hard reset and formatting but none seem to work.
Even the microphone quality has degraded.
Please help.
I've searched here and on other forums but can't find an answer to some camera related problems.
I'm using 15.1 Osprey June, 1st build on my Moto G3 2Gb Ram (XT1543).
PROBLEM 1: front camera not working.
This is happening for a long time, since I was using stock ROM (my phone came with 6.0, but that time both camera worked fine).
Don't know when this starts, cause i didn't use front camera very often, but when on 6.1 this already happened, the change camera icon simply disappeared.
I've tried all tricks, format the phone, boot on safe mode, clear chaces, etc.
I've used Lineage 14 for a while and now I've made a clean install of 15.1 and same thing.
Back camera works fine for photo and video using Footej Camera — the first time I opened this app, there was the change camera icon; I clicked and get that camera error message, and now the icon disappeared again. Installed MotoCamera_Mod_6.2.5.16 and same thing: back camera fully functional, front camera no icon or options.
Didn't drop my phone, but i'm considering some hardware problem.
Anyone has a link to a DIY fix (or at least try)?
Here in my country, the cost of the repair probably does not pay...
PROBLEM 2: Instagram stories not working
photos works fine, a click the button and can add to my story, but when I record video, after it's finished the buttons doesn't appear and the app freezes.
on "hands free" the image freezes during record, when try to make a boomerang "an error occurs" message appears and the **** goes like this...
I've removed and install back the app, have the last update, etc.
Is someone else having this problem?
thanks!
problem solved!
if someone else is having similar problems, here's the (obvious) solution:
just do a clean flash!
I did it and everything is working now (instagram stories, other camera apps functions and GPS).
except the front camera, probably due to some hardware stuff.
Hey guys,
to a friend of mine, owner of the LG K40, the selfie camera does not work, as soon as you open the camera app, pressing "Take a selfie" (because it does not make you switch the camera opening it normally) the message "Camera keeps stopping" comes out. Clearing the cache doesn't solve the problem, so I decided, what happens if you uninstall the Camera app using platform-tools? Then I searched the internet for "com.android.camera apk", and unlike many times, where they give you a different package name, this time it was just the right package; I discovered this by connecting my phone to the computer, uninstalling com.android.camera and installing this APK I saw that everything was normal; being a Xiaomi user (I have the Redmi 9) it was obvious that everything was fine, because that app was also made specifically for the brand of devices I am using, so I wondered if this APK would work on a LG K40.
I decided to do this post because, for example, you are doing a WhatsApp video call, it doesn't let you use the front camera, we tried to download the Open Camera, but I couldn't use the front camera there either
So will this APK work on a LG K40?
With kindness

To get the very reason why Camera app stops working do a LOGCAT.
