Huawei Ideos S7 Slim ROM - Android General

Ok, so i found this very old tablet and i wanna make him work, i flashed some southafrica rom using this tutorial : cant post a link but i will quote text
Spoiler
But do not disappear there is a solution. And I will take you through it here. (disclaimer: beware this is a factory reset. All data on you tablet will be erased. You can use my included file for the resetting if your tablet is compatible to MTN huawei S7 firmware. For Other firmware please try androidtablets forums for any help. No guarantees are given here express or implied. This worked for me so the probability it will work for you is 1 in as many as there are android huawei tablets in the world). Just try it.
Step 1: Download MTN South Africa Huawei slim 7 tablet firmware here.
Step 2: Create a folder named dload unzip the download from step 1 and copy these two files unlmt.cfg and UPDATA.APP into the folder dload. Copy dload and contents to your Micro SD card. If you have a Micro SD card with an adapter that will do the job. With the adapter the SD card will fit into your laptop or computer card reader. Make sure the sd card is empty and formatted. Drop the dload folder into it. Make sure inside the folder is only two files and not another folder.
Step 3: Remove the battery from your tablet insert the SD card into the tablet at the SD Card slot. Replace the battery.
Step 4: Start the tablet by pushing the power button. And relax and watch. A progress bar should appear and soon begins to fill up. When it is competed an OK will appear under it.
Step 5: Remove the SD card and push the power button again to restart the tablet. (You may now plug the tablet to a power source to start it charging. The next process is intensive and your battery might go flat. As a precaution use the power charger not the usb charger for now)
IDEOS logo appears and blinks about three times. Service provider logo appears and stays for a bit longer. Then the Huawei home launcher home screen appears. At this stage do not touch the tablet yet as more updates of the firmware will be taking place including update of the touchscreen and coulometer firmware. After that your tablet is back and as good as new.

And, i did all of that got the OK signal but when i restart tablet home menu and back buttons keep flashing with some kind of low light, but screen is black. Can anyone here help me with this problem ? Is it even about rom ? How to fix this ?
Thanks in advance :good:

Unbrick Your Maple from upgrade rom code error

First a disclaimer. I am an Android user so this forum is first and foremost always my guide. Everything I learned about Android OS and Windows OS I learned here BY READING.
If your phone is bricked it cannot get worse. If this method does not work then you most likely have a hardware failure and NOT a ROM failure.
***All data not previously backed up will be lost from your phone!***
Thanks to ookba for his Flashing and Unbricking your Maple post
And the OP of several other XDA posts I read late last night and can't recall at the moment.
Thanks also to my crazy Doberman Pinscher Bella for keeping her nose off the keyboard long enough to get this working and the post typed out.
After a bit of frustration, a lot of reading, some trial and error here it is:
***This method works in place of the goldcard method stated in ookba's post**
REMOVE YOUR BATTERY, SIM CARD AND MICROSD CARD.
Download your original factory ROM from your carrier (T Mobile) in this case, they will ask for you IMEI # it's printed on the tag under the battery of your phone.
**I could not get this to work with other RRU files only the factory ROM**
Extract it to a folder you can find using Win RAR or an equivalent RAR program.
Open the folder and rename the RRU_signed.nbh (or similar RRU file; it will be approximately 140 mb) to MAPLIMG.nbh
****(just change the file name, DO NOT rename it MAPLIMG.nbh.nbh)****
Copy the MAPLIMG.nbh to your microSD card and insert the card into the microSD slot in your phone.
Install the battery and press the power on button.
The phone will boot from the SD card and the update process will begin. It may return to the tricolor screen once; in my case it did.
***DO NOT panic.***
***Leave it alone***
The update will restart on its own and complete. It will state OK next to each step and complete at the bottom when finished.
When it's complete REMOVE the microSD card and then the battery.
The entire process took approximately ten minutes to complete.
ERASE the MAPLIMG.nbh from the microSD card before reinserting it into the phone with your SIM and boot normally.
Easy Peasy! Enjoy your unbricked phone.

[Q] TF101 Wont Boot after update

I have the TF101 with the b90 serial. Ever since running the latest update my TF wont boot. It sits at the Asus eepc splash screen. It is not rooted running all the stock software. I have tried a number of things and all of them seem to fail.
Things ive tried;
-I have held the power button down for 20seconds a minute etc and it just goes back to the asus splash
-tried to hit the reset button on the side
-held down the power + volume down till white letters. tried the cold boot and the data wipe.
-tried to do hold down power + volume down and hit the volume up to do the RCK recovery and it loads for a quick second then gives me an Android logo with a yellow caution sign.
-going to asus site and taking the firm ware saving it to a microsd card and trying to boot the TF with the card in. no luck there either (unless i was doing it wrong)
Does anyone know a fix so i can get this thing working? Any help is appreciated. This is my aunts tablet so im new to the android OS.
Did you place the firmware in the root of the SD card and booted into recovery (power+vol-, vol+)?
yea i unzipped the file into the root of a sd card and did the power + vol - then volume+ when u see white writing and i just get the android olog with a loading bar for about 1 second then goes to a android with a yellow caution logo and sit there.
Ive never flashed a ROM on the TF using the stock recovery, so I cant really be sure if this is correct but...
On my Novo7Basic, you have to place the .zip file (not extracted) in the root of the SD card, and name it update.zip (I know the TF needs to be named something else, but I dont know what).
So you could try just placing the .zip file in the root of the SD card.
Just to make sure the sd card has to be formatted FAT32? I downloaded the us firmware off ASUS site and I unzip the original file u get off their site and inside there is another zip file i save that zip file onto the root of the SD card.
this is quite frustrating havent been able to use this thing for over a week. id be willing to root it or put cwm on it to reflash it but im not sure if i can do any of that without being able to get into the OS.
Did you rename the zip to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip ?

UNroot and back to GB stock on Huawei u8510-1 Blaze aka Ideos X3

To root plz follow guide: http://theunlockr.com/2012/05/22/root-huawei-ideos-x3-blaze-u8510-install-clockworkmod-recovery/
but the unroot guide did not work possibly coz of GB(GingerBread) stock but after a few min i accentally when to storeage in settings and was able to recover back to GB stock.
the UNroot method is the same up to step 7 of the unroot guide(http://theunlockr.com/2012/10/24/how-to-unroot-the-huawei-ideos-x3-blaze-u8510/) ie:
Stock download source (http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...&directoryId=3372&treeId=0&tb=1&type=software) -get correct model number from behind the battery.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have a SD card formatted in FAT32 file system.(optional but not required, if already in use)
II. Downloading Required Files:
2. Download stock from manufactures source stated above (ie GB stcok for u8510-1 i believe there are only 2 one for tesc0 andPhones4U)
III. Unrooting the Huawei Ideos X3 Blaze (U8510):
1. Download and place the Stock ROM (zip file) on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Stock ROM archive to your Desktop. A dload folder should appear in the extract folder called dload and should contain UPDATE.app file.
3. With SD card inserted in your device, connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.( A message should appear click "turn on USB Storage" button)
Note: one can identify the sd card drive letter by the storage size, will not be exact size but approximation of size.
4. Copy dload folder and content to root of SD card (that is should be visible when sd card is opened possibly along with other folders)
5. Disconnect the device after the file has been copied.
Note:a) when the device is connected to PC it will be able to communicate with device, so may appear as its not there(connected to device)
b) plz backup all, as this process WILL DISTROY ALL DATA ON HANDSET!!
c) Check the folder and file is present in SD card by file manager-->sd Card
d) Lastly check batery level is full as a CRASH MAY BRICK THE HANDSET, So if not charge to full before going any further.!!!
Now Simply go to settings-->Storage-->Software Upgrade(scroll to bottom)-->SD Card Upgrade--> "confirm" --> "upgrade"
WILL TAKE "2 MINS"
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THIS PROCESS (OF 2 MINS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
STEP1/2 UNPACKING
and by 33% or progress bar reaching one third way, sign should change to read
STEP 2/2 INSTALLING
when completed the phone will boot 3 times with a few mins pause(each boot indicated with a virbration)
a WELCOME SCREEN should appear
"TAP GREEN ANDROID"
a sreen headed SETUP UP YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT
CLICK "SKIP"
a sreen headed USE GOOGLE LOCATION
CLICK "NEXT"
COMPLETED .....ENJOY

Huawei Y530 hard reset fail

Hello folks, my roommate recently tryed to hard reset his Huawei Y530 but since he has a bad battery, the phone turned off in the middle of the process. When he turned it on there was a message:
Recovery image verify failed, please update to the authorized images
Well, i downloaded the stock firmware image onto the SD card and starter the recovery process, but it gets stuck on FORMATING/DATA. I left it there for 12 hour and nothing happened. When i aborted it, the same stupid message comes back:
Recovery image verify failed, please update to the authorized images
Any body have an idea? Any help is appreciated.
Kind regards
Did some research and found this, hope it works:
1.Extract and copy dload Folder into root of SD card.
2. Power off mobile and insert SD Card and press and hold Vol+ and Vol- and Power on.
3. wait for update complete.
4. Enjoy.
5. Thanks Button. ?

That doesnt work, already tryed that, if the image is in the dload folder, the phone doesnt even see it.
Maybe your download is corrupt try downloading another file.
Nope, it only starts without the dload folder, but eventually gets stuck on formating/data

I found that the only thing that worked was to reformat my sd card.
I backed it up to a pc at which stage I found that some photos were unreadable. I have a strong feeling these corrupt files were causing the issue.
What I did:
1. Performed a backup of the sd card on a computer.
2. Formatted the card.
3. Put thefiles back on.
4. Put the card back into the phone.
5. Restarted handset.
Now, two weeks on, not a single lockup!
Enjoy.

First i thought it was the sd card also but after testing it a few months now i believe it has something to do with the App Power Saving mode that is turned on by default where some apps cant handle it and it will freeze your phone. When i turned this feature off the phone seems to work fine while it used to lock up a couple times a day.
Tny that works for me. Good man
