Thanks for that. I see it.
Now that I am on 0A6 stock, could I use cf-auto-root through mobile odin? Either after it's fixed or even now? inasmuch as CFAR isn't a firmware.
Ah crap, nevermind, have to be rooted already.

Help with rooting NC1

ok i know there's a lot of threads about this in the q&a but i figured i would just try. i have a s3 and its on the update. when i got the phone it was rooted running alliance rom. i did the update not thinking and it unrooted it. but when i turn on the phone it comes up the samsung screen with a unlocked symbol at the bottom. when i do root checker it says its not rooted. i have tried all the methods. i tried downgrading but when i do that it fails in odin. i have tried saferoot and it fails and says my kernel is patched. I just need to know if there's no hope lol.

There's no hope for NC1. You have to ODIN back to ML1 and use saferoot.

You could try the one from samsung-updates but I don't think it will wipe internal so that can lead to problems. Did you check the md5? Does odin say what happened?

[Q] Extract A Kernel From Stock firmware? Please help

I was hoping someone would be nice enough to tell me how to extract a kernel from a stock firmware zip/tar.md5 file. I wish to do this so I may temporarily downgrade my kernel to root my device with Towelroot.

It's already been done for you. This is the stock kernel for NE5 and this one is from NCB
Edit: NE5 is flashed from recovery, NCB is odin'd.

Actually, my reply above was wrong. NE5 is flashed in custom recovery, and NCB is odin'd. Is there a reason you need to use Odin for a kernel? It's standard to just flash the .zip file from within custom recovery (Philz or TWRP).

[Completed] [Q] I tried to install lollipop on my Unlocked Note 3

I Tried to install lollipop on my Note 3, and it wont boot up now. i can still get into download mode and recovery mode. it just gets to the first samsung screen and freezes. I have an unlocked SM-N900A. I tried flashing using safestrap. Thats how i got to this point. Ive also tried to continue installation using Odin. It says FAIL. I think it may be the PIT file is missing, but now i dont know what Version of lollipop i should use since i have an unlocked Note 3. Originally i used the version for AT&T. any help would be great. thanks in advance!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. First, you don't need a pit file. You need the correct stock firmware for your device. Go to Samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com for the firmware. Then flash it in Odin.

@iBowToAndroid Does this Stock_Downgrade firmware actually work to downgrade to PC5? https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533100289590563
Yes... it also enabled video calling and wifi hotspot for me. The tethering/hotspot menu setting is not there, but the dropdown notification settings can have the hotspot setting added. Havent tried the video calling feature. Also the dialer codes do not work in the ##DATA# format.

Yes you can downgrade... but is has its pros and cons. It is not the same as the sprint ota. It has its pros and cons. Some of which I mentioned above. I used Odin to flash the file, but had to delete the MD5 extension for Odin to acknowledge it.

I haven't charged my phone fully since yesterday, but it certainly hasn't gotten any worse. The icon for LTE has changed to a 4G icon with this downgrade. Thank you for the link uploaded by iBowToAndroid, its great to have hotspot working again.

Its not the firmware that came with the phone originally. It's the first OTA. I downloaded it. It's only the AP. No BL, CP, or CSC. So those will still be from PD3. I installed it via Odin and am setting the phone back up right now. So far everything is working ok. Would be awesome to have the bootloader and everything else that goes with it, but if it works it works!

The link I posted above is legit. I cannot get the PB5 firmware to take, I keep getting bootloops, but the uploader has had success downgrading all but the bootloader.
The PC5 package totally works though. Bootloader and all. I just successfully Odin'ed all 4 tars back to PC5 and will remain on PC5 until Samsung and Sprint can get their heads out of their asses when it comes to the poor battery life introduced with the PD3 update.

The AP, CP, CSC files all flash fine, the BL will not. And you may get bootloops. I haven't seen anyone other than the original uploader get it to boot up properly.

SM-G930U Now Flashes to SM-G930T

With the latest update of PI3 on the SM-G930U the bootloader is now on version 4. Found out trying too flash a version 2 bootloader from Verizon firmware.
What this means? Users on the SM-G930T that wanted a bloat free smooth firmware can enjoy just that now by downloading and flashing the latest PI3 firmware on sammobile or samfirm tool.
Damn ! That's some good news after so long !

Just a note, you'll lose FM radio support. I was really hoping they would include it in the update, but no love sadly. I have the U and am considering flashing the T for it. Comes in handy at the gym for watching tv, but then I'll have bloat. Decisions decisions.
Can I flash the tmobile modem over this and get the 4x4 mimo support? Or does that also include some code in the firmware?

No issues on my end. I flashed T then back to U without any hassle. Probably is your odin or faulty usb cable or port.

A somewhat silly question but does flashing the U firmware automatically unlock the SIM? Or is it still SIM locked?

No, flashing the U firmware does not Sim Unlock the device. You must first unlock then flash if you want to switch carriers. Otherwise just flash and use your same provider SIM.
