[Q] lg g2 d801 bricked, no download mode,no fast boot only stuck at lg logo

hi
i think i bricked my lg g2 d801 t-mobile by first installing stock d802(i know i messed up) after that my phone went to fast boot mode.i used adb to load img files to bring back download mode and then i tried tot method to install stock rom which failed, i then tried pushing img files from adb to get atleast custom recovery but that further bricked my phone which is basically living in this situation:
-no download mode
-no fastboot
-stuck at lg logo when i try to power it on
-no recovery
also i tried using linux to load the img files but linux wont recognize my lg g2 when i type in the commands
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me i am desparate

Thanks for your reply but I don't think that works, cause the link you have me is how to root device.

It still restores the image, you can choose to root or not

Any luck fixing it ?

Kdz flashtool could solve the problem or using an usb.... U could leave the phone until the battery goes off and then recharge a little bit and try download mode again... the first method should work ... press the buttons correctly and connect the usb... working in 95%

could you please explain what you did?
my lgg2 d801 simply boots into the LG logo screen and stays there til it dies.
I do not know too many technicalities when it comes to adb or ubuntu, in fact i dont even know if those programs go on the phone or the computer through usb..
simple clarifications would make the world of difference to me as my phone is useless now.
I can enter download mode using your "let phone die then try again method" but i dont know what to do from there..
Please help me restore my phone to the 4.4.2 kitkat i had previously

d801 problems
I have a D801 that was rooted on 4.4.2, and I stupidly took the OTA update. I can still use my phone to make calls, but nothing associated with google works. The phone will not boot into download mode, there is no recovery and no fast boot. I have tried everything. It will no reroot or anything . Is there anything that I can do.

I'm not sure if this will work for the G2 but it worked for my G Pad just last night.

Did you see where the directions say put the device in download mode. My device will not enter download mode.

I can confirm that that method worked for my G2. Make sure you press and hold volume up then plug the phone in. Hold volume up till you see the small box saying its in download mode.
The nice thing about this method it doesn't wipe your data.
Make sure you have downloaded the most current drivers first though before you plug in your phone. Then go to options and update recovery.

It worked for you because your partitions were not messed up. I know the procedure for getting into download mode, I tell you that it no longer works. Volume up while plugging usb in now gets me a battery charging icon . When you have a rooted phone running 4.4.2 and apply OTA update, it screws the partitions up. I can still send and receive calls, just can't sign into google or use playstore .

Anyway, I couldn't find an answer anywhere else. Most results also have a bricked phone, but that wasn't my issue. This solved my problem and maybe it could work for others.

Seems like its possible to get into download mode. I don't know, maybe yours is just different.

mine is not different, just corrupted. Even took it to a craigslist repairman. He said that he did not have the expertise to repair it. It can't be put in recovery, download or fastboot mode. It also can't be rerooted.

[Q] AT&T LG G2 Help!! Please!

I just bought a LG G2 I rooted it with towelroot. Then i used autorec to install a recovery. I installed the wrong version of autorec & then i got the constant fastboot log. After that i read a fix for that via fastboot flash and not knowing my computer wouldn't flash the aboot.img i removed aboot.img and it would not flash it. So now my LG G2 just has a black screen. However when I plug it in a whole bunch of flash drives pop up continuously, and everytime that they blink on and off my screen semi lights up black so it flashes between that and completely black. I have tried to use linux because i read a tut to fix a similar problem that way. However I cannot seem to get anything to work for my phone. If anyone can help please let me know! the back of my phone says it is version D800 however when i rooted my phone with towelroot i tried using freegee to bypass the bootloader and it said it wasn't compatible with version D802u......Update! However i did manage to use linux to get it back into fastboot mode i cant seem to get anything to work in fastboot ive tried flashing the laf.img and it wont flash it just comes up with a error. I can say fastboot reboot and it will reboot

Update phone is fixed and working just fine. Apparently I did everything wrong but something was wrong with the cm11 snapshot I flashed. Just rerooted my phone and installed cm11 flawlessly! I would like to thank Windows 8 & Linux along with all the forums on xda that helped me fix my phone without them it wouldn't have been possible!

Failed to validate system image & stuck in fastboot

Hello, back in december I was trying to load up an app on my phone but in a video the guy said to download chainfire so I did and installed the driver and my phone got stuck in the warning unlocked bootloader screen and I really can't remember what I did but I did something with downloading the system restore image but it wouldn't work so I changed up the files and now my phone is stuck in fastboot and no longer is usable so I just threw it in my drawer and never used it again up until now here I am asking for help on how to resolve this issue. I'm no android techie so I really don't know much about anything other than rooting phones. My phone is a Moto G XT1031. Also I can't charge my phone because when I leave it, the phone just keeps rebooting and it really doesn't charge much.
UPDATE:
I managed to unlock the bootloader but now when I power it up, the device is stuck on the motorola screen.

If you can get into fastboot mode, try flashing a stock ROM for your phone.

I (assumed) bricked my Moto G LTE today and just ordered another one. How it happened was that I factory reset my phone, but the setup stopped working after I finished it so I had no launcher. I naturally panicked and booted into recovery using ClockworkMod, but it didn't work. Eventually it got to the point where it was stuck at the Motorola "M" logo, so I continued to factory reset with ClockworkMod and installed a zip hoping a stock would fix it. It did not, since I misunderstood and now my phone is currently stuck at the warning bootloader screen (replaced by "Motorola powered by Android").
So I gave up and ordered the "Motorola Moto G - Universal 4G LTE - GSM Unlocked - 8GB (Black)" from Amazon.
To prevent something like that happening again what are some things I need to do to ensure I'll always have a safe recovery? I'm also overwhelmed by how many ways there are to root a Moto G LTE and could use some direction. I'm also confused on how I can find the appropriate stock ROM of 4.4.4 for my new XT1045.

I am in no way an expert but here is my few cents :
0) make sure your bootloader is unlocked, see motorola website
1) Install TeamWin recovery latest version. For that just use adb to connect to your phone in debug mode and flash it, read up on that. Its easy process once you know it.
2) Hold vol down and power for a bit then release power, that goes into fastboot/bootloader, in which you press down then up to get into recovery.
3) erase everything from recovery, this should destroy your OS, to start at a clean slate.
4) make sure all your drivers are install on pc, for all modes that the phone can be in, so in the recovery now you should even see ur phone using adb devices
5) do a side load using adb of the rom your want to load, should take seconds
6) restart phone, rom should work, check it all out
7, if there is no root, then go back into recovery and install Super SU zip file, you can find.

Oh, and don't panic, its very hard to really brick your phone.

Thanks for the help. Is it OK to use the guide even though it's intended for 4.4.2? What's the difference between CWM and TWRP, which one is better? In the scenario where I need to load the stock ROM because of corrupted recovery like before, how would I do that?

For the Moto G hands down twrp
You can even flash IMG files after 2.8( if you even need to heh)

I just got my new phone today from Amazon. Apparently it's a XT1039 rather than my old XT1045. Is there a difference? I'm in the U.S. if that matters.
Edit: While following the guide @MuhammadA linked, I can't flash any recovery for some reason. When I try to flash them, my phone says "Mismatched partition size (recovery)" and when I try to launch "Recovery" it says "Boot up failed"
Edit: Found the problem. I don't know what it was, but I used a different version of CWM called "Unofficial CWM - 6.0.5.0 - peregrine" by Shabbypenguin and the OUDHS.
Edit again: The first thing I decided to do when I installed CWM was to backup my system, the first backup to my phone which went well and finished in a minute or so. When I started another one to my external SD card, it's stuck on "Generating MD5 checksums..." for about 20 minutes. Is it safe to force restart it via the power button?

[Q] Boot to black screen

Hi. I have been playing with a Moto G for three days now trying to get it fixed after it started booting to a black screen. Here's what I have tried so far. Hopefully somebody will be able to tell me which step I missed.
When I got into recovery on the Moto G I tried wiping the system back to factory. That didnt' work as it immediately went to do a reboot. The same thing happened when I tied wiping cash or settings. I could not boot from a new recovery because there was non on the SD card that I knew of and didn't know you could use ADB to push one there. This was a phone somebody had given me to try to fix so I didn't have any history on it.
To begin with I unlocked the boot loader because I thought if i could get an unlocked boot loader I could simply flash a new ROM. I went with TWERP. Flashing that went ok except it said something about partition size error. No biggie from what I read online. Then I selected boot from recovery. Now instead of just rebooting as it had done before I got the Android on it's back with No Command below it. I learned to hold up for 15seconds then tap Power. This got me to a recovery. Not the touchscreen recovery I had expected from TWERP but a recovery. So I went in and chose update with ADB after the other options failed to give me positive results.
After this, I had a big problem getting the Moto G listed in the ADB Devices. It jsut wasnt' there. Even after I rebooted and uninstalled drivers then reinstalled. Finally I was able to find another set of drivers and installed those. Those worked after I held Vol. Down and PWR for 2 minutes according to some instructions to reset it.
No when I try to sideload a ROM I get the ROM being pushed to the device then I get this I have tried several different ROMS
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installation aborted...
Could it be because I was unable to enter the device settings and switch on developer options?
What can I try next?

Did you try to get a USB otg, load a custom or stock flashable zip and install from USB otg?

I don't have an OTG cable. I can get or make one if needbe, but in the mean time, is there a command I can use to push the .zip file to the internal storage of the Moto G? I thought I had seen one yesterday in my searching, can't find it now.

I'm facing the same problem except that I haven't unlocked the bootloader. I've upgraded to 5.0.2. Is there a way I could reflash the update?
