I just bought a LG G2 I rooted it with towelroot. Then i used autorec to install a recovery. I installed the wrong version of autorec & then i got the constant fastboot log. After that i read a fix for that via fastboot flash and not knowing my computer wouldn't flash the aboot.img i removed aboot.img and it would not flash it. So now my LG G2 just has a black screen. However when I plug it in a whole bunch of flash drives pop up continuously, and everytime that they blink on and off my screen semi lights up black so it flashes between that and completely black. I have tried to use linux because i read a tut to fix a similar problem that way. However I cannot seem to get anything to work for my phone. If anyone can help please let me know! the back of my phone says it is version D800 however when i rooted my phone with towelroot i tried using freegee to bypass the bootloader and it said it wasn't compatible with version D802u......Update! However i did manage to use linux to get it back into fastboot mode i cant seem to get anything to work in fastboot ive tried flashing the laf.img and it wont flash it just comes up with a error. I can say fastboot reboot and it will reboot
Update phone is fixed and working just fine. Apparently I did everything wrong but something was wrong with the cm11 snapshot I flashed. Just rerooted my phone and installed cm11 flawlessly! I would like to thank Windows 8 & Linux along with all the forums on xda that helped me fix my phone without them it wouldn't have been possible!

try to flash the recovery using fastboot
The same thing happened to me a few days ago.
Version 6.0 of CWM Recovery caused my phone no stop boot at LG logo.
Use LG's official flash tool to recover phone (you will need to input your IMEI).
It will flash the latest stock rom to your phone.
After that I flashed CWM Recovery 5.0, that one works fine.
yep first time i tried cwm 6 i got stuck on lg boot too and without recovery... you can recover using fast boot like sww said (flash cmw 5 recovery in fastboot [if you go this way flash x and u bin's too, that way if you want to upgrade to cm10 you will be ready] and then restore rom in cmw) or put your phone in download mode (vol up+pwr) and use LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix to flash a full kdz (that's how i did it) or like daniel.mota said use the official flash tool to make emergency recovery (probably the easiest method).
btw I tried flashing cmw 6 again a few days ago and it flashed fine this time, entered recovery fine, backed up fine but never restores correctly...
I agree. The new version has a lot of bugs. When I tried to reinstall a previous rom backup it stated that the md5sum was incorrect when it checked among other small glitches. I'm back to v5.0.2.7.
After back to version 5.0.2.7. The same back up was fine.

Thanks for your reply but I don't think that works, cause the link you have me is how to root device.
It still restores the image, you can choose to root or not

Any luck fixing it ?
Kdz flashtool could solve the problem or using an usb.... U could leave the phone until the battery goes off and then recharge a little bit and try download mode again... the first method should work ... press the buttons correctly and connect the usb... working in 95%
same problem
tried the mentioned comments but still nothing for me.
PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you fix the problem OP

could you please explain what you did?
my lgg2 d801 simply boots into the LG logo screen and stays there til it dies.
I do not know too many technicalities when it comes to adb or ubuntu, in fact i dont even know if those programs go on the phone or the computer through usb..
simple clarifications would make the world of difference to me as my phone is useless now.
I can enter download mode using your "let phone die then try again method" but i dont know what to do from there..
Please help me restore my phone to the 4.4.2 kitkat i had previously
thannks in advance
d801 problems
I have a D801 that was rooted on 4.4.2, and I stupidly took the OTA update. I can still use my phone to make calls, but nothing associated with google works. The phone will not boot into download mode, there is no recovery and no fast boot. I have tried everything. It will no reroot or anything . Is there anything that I can do.

I can confirm that that method worked for my G2. Make sure you press and hold volume up then plug the phone in. Hold volume up till you see the small box saying its in download mode.
The nice thing about this method it doesn't wipe your data.
Make sure you have downloaded the most current drivers first though before you plug in your phone. Then go to options and update recovery.

It worked for you because your partitions were not messed up. I know the procedure for getting into download mode, I tell you that it no longer works. Volume up while plugging usb in now gets me a battery charging icon . When you have a rooted phone running 4.4.2 and apply OTA update, it screws the partitions up. I can still send and receive calls, just can't sign into google or use playstore .

I had a similar problem with my T-Mobile LG G2 where I was rooted and accepted an OTA. It broke root and I couldn't get IOroot or Stumproot to work. Went to flash a downgrade and found the phone wouldn't go into download mode. It was NOT bricked. I finally tried playing around with the LG Mobile Support Tool (B2CAppSetup.exe). Of course it detected that my phone already had the latest firmware from T-Mobile, but then I clicked Options>Upgrade Recovery.
It downloaded for a while then I noticed it had put my phone into download mode (it said "Rooted" in red letters at the bottom). Then it flashed the same firmware over and I immediately tested, it entered download mode right away. But I didn't end up needing that as Stumproot was able to brute force it now after the recovery flash.
Anyway, I couldn't find an answer anywhere else. Most results also have a bricked phone, but that wasn't my issue. This solved my problem and maybe it could work for others.

mine is not different, just corrupted. Even took it to a craigslist repairman. He said that he did not have the expertise to repair it. It can't be put in recovery, download or fastboot mode. It also can't be rerooted.
ill ready repaired one equal but need it "octoplus box sw" for it
Hi, I recently got my phone working again with some help from this forum so I thought I'd come back.
Before I failed flashing a ROM so I told myself I'd stick to xposed until I learned more. Well this module had me edit build.prop to work. Once I edited and rebooted my phone, I was stuck with a black screen.
LG Mobile Support Tool/Flash Tool doesn't work now (in download mode) and ADB won't detect my device. I even tried Ubuntu in a VM and I couldn't get it to find my phone even though I was able to add it as a USB device in VirtualBox.
I barely know anything about this stuff but I knew I was supposed to install a recovery, I installed TWRP, I can't boot into anything at all though. Hardware factory reset doesn't work, download mode works but again LG flashing doesn't. So confused.
I've looked all over and I'm unable to find anything. If I can get this fixed, I'm not even going to root my phone.
EDIT: Can a mod please move this to the proper section? Thanks
Is my phone completely useless now?
Okay guys, now I baught a moto g x1032 from ebay, gave it a try and It seemed laggy and buggy, went to settings and found that it was running a custom rom, so I wanted to go back to stock and I found a tutorial and I pretty much followed the tutorial, the tutorial said to download mfastboot, the firmware file, and adb fastboot as well as the drivers.
I did all of that, I installed the stock firmware and went to turn the phone on and it just shows the motorola logo then restarts.
I'm not sure what to do to get it working, I even downloaded another stock rom but it was in .zip format so I needed to transfer it to the phone and install it via cwm, I tried to install it via sideload but I kept getting the error on adb: error device not found.
I can still get into the fastboot menu by holding down the volume down + power.
I have also read that you apparantly need to have debug mode enabled, but how am I supposed to enable that when I can't get past the boot screen?
All i can think of is that maybe i was trying to downgrade the device when i shouldn't be?
If anyone can help me with this or point me in the right direction to fixing this phone back to stock that would be great.
Thank you.
What version of android did the phone come with? And what version did you try to flash?
I believe it came with 4.4 and I tried flashing 4.4 normal edition.
The phone now boots up but there is no sound or vibration or anything, tried making a call and the phone freezes, any ideas?
Which retail 4.4.4 are you needing? I can upload the UK version I use.

You can flash one from here via recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688 then reboot.
Hello, back in december I was trying to load up an app on my phone but in a video the guy said to download chainfire so I did and installed the driver and my phone got stuck in the warning unlocked bootloader screen and I really can't remember what I did but I did something with downloading the system restore image but it wouldn't work so I changed up the files and now my phone is stuck in fastboot and no longer is usable so I just threw it in my drawer and never used it again up until now here I am asking for help on how to resolve this issue. I'm no android techie so I really don't know much about anything other than rooting phones. My phone is a Moto G XT1031. Also I can't charge my phone because when I leave it, the phone just keeps rebooting and it really doesn't charge much.
UPDATE:
I managed to unlock the bootloader but now when I power it up, the device is stuck on the motorola screen.
If you can get into fastboot mode, try flashing a stock ROM for your phone.
