Hello!
I have the problem that Android OS is using too much energy, keeps the CPU running for at least twenty minutes per hour. I lose 2-3% per hour without doing something although i do not have any wakelocks (checked with BBS). What could i do to get the stunning battery of the one back? I am running stock rooted with franco r35.
Thanks for your help!

Maybe just try to make a factory reset.
Much Energy, very wow

No, the drain in Android OS is caused by Google Play Services. It wakes the device every minute and keeps it awake for 15 seconds, which means it's awake about 25% of the time. No amount of factory resets will fix that.

I have already denied wake up and keep awake in settings, if i tap Google play services in Android Tuner, it force closes every time, so i cannot deny something.

Did you read the intro to the thread? You don't need to use Android Tuner 99% of the time, just do the Privacy Guard part and you should be fine.

Maybe you should have mentioned that in your OP then.
I did not know that Android OS and play service are related. But i do not want to fight... Do you have another idea?

I let it sit for 2 1/2 hours. The drain is now gone, although android os is still shown as the highest drainer.

yep, event0, event2 and sometimes qcom_rx_wakelock. from my testing, i've found out that once i turn wifi off, they disappear. especially qcom_rx_wakelock. when i reset my router and even changed it, those wakelocks were heavily reduced. from 4 hours to like 13 minutes.
what i believe is the cause, is either there is a rogue app that causes these wakelocks specifically with wifi, or there is a fault with some routers and cm that cause these wakelocks.

So what would you suggest me? The 7113 is running as an AP for WiFi in my room, but the 7330 SL is our Main Router and i cannot reset it.
What irritates me is that Android OS is first in battery history with 50% more than every other app, even on 3G, when the event wakelock should not be present
sorry to sneak in , but in my OPO, Batter Monitor Widget says that in 9,5 hours
netd drained 156mAh
system_server drained 108mAh
surfaceslinger drained 87mAh
is that normal? to me it looks like a leak

You can see from the Alarms tab of BBS that Whatsapp is waking the device quite a few times an hour. You've got apps like that, as well as Drive, Facebook Messenger, and probably other Google services that are syncing while you're not using the phone. You didn't really leave the device long enough (less than two hours) to have enough statistics to analyse though.

It's not normal, turn off location when you're not using it.

No need to list all your apps when you know Google+ is the culprit
There is an option within settings to sync photos over Wi-Fi only and while on charge, much more efficient unless you really need to backup all the time
Additionally for general gains, you could use another app to turn off data/Wi-Fi or toggle airplane mode overnight, unless you need it syncing while you sleep

Google+ isn't syncing photos because all of my photos are synced.
It was probably syncing something overnight though right? Worth having charging setting anyway
Ironic that an official Google app will have
e such a high wakelock...
Perhaps try something like greenify?

No because I flashed back to stock a couple days ago to reapply mods and haven't taken any pictures yet.. I have greenify so i'll watch my battery level and then use greenify if I need to. Still weird though. I also totally shut off location now (was on battery saving) so I'll see what happens overnight this time.

usual stuff:
hotword detectionn/off?
wifi scanning even when its offn/off?
rogue app?
higher up you can
install a wakelock detector and check which apps does the "batman"
would have been helpful if you had at least attached the screenshot of the battery stats.
Best hope: Install a wake-lock detector. Check for app.

Google+ will sometimes cause small wakelocks on my phone overnight as well. Although, it doesn't appear as bad as yours. If it doesn't "sync" overnight, I only lose 1-2% that night. If it does sync, it shows that it kept the phone awake for about 10min. But even then, I'll only lose about 5-7% that night (definitely not 33%). I, too, have it back up my pictures over WiFi. This wakelock is random. Sometimes it happens during the day, and sometimes at night. I doesn't really seem to correlate with me taking pictures that day or not.

It's only draining when you're at a home screen so while it's not consistent it will decrease SoT slightly. It only saves you from making 1 screen tap on the mic icon so the trade off is questionable.

This time it went from 89 to 49, probably because in the morning I started getting notifications. Anyways Google plus is no longer on the battery list. Attached are screenshots of anything I think might be useful.

So I am noticing some really bad battery drain from the process alarm_wakeup_locator. Not sure what apps are associated with it or what but I really want to narrow down the culprit! I have attached some screenshots from BBB and also the AlarmManager.txt file which I retrieved using the command "dumpsys alarm > AlarmManager.txt" from terminal emulator. If anyone sees anything out of the ordinary or knows what app or whatever is causing this please let me know! Thanks!

I have google location services off and GPS on battery saver mode.
I mean to be honest, 3% per hour is not that bad. Turn off location reporting in google now, and it looks like your wifi is responsible for the rest of the wakelocks i.e., dont keep it on. I really, REALLY, don't understand why android has to have this retarded battery draining wakelock.

Ehh...3%/hour actually isn't bad, but it's also not good, if you're not using the device for anything during that time.
Yeah I'm sleeping the phone isn't doing anything...I thought leaving WiFi on was much better than having it on data
Mine was having the same problem since then I've disabled and reenabled the Google location after uninstalling and reinstalling the Google services and some of the Google applications and right now it seems like I have no more of the battery drain problem plus I used the root exploit and xposed on top of titanium backup and I froze a lot of the Verizon bloatware and a few of the Google Apps that came stock on the phone and since then I've not had a problem

I get about .7% per hour I turn off data and autosync with tasker at night. Don't leave either one on, wifi has wake lock issues and you will kill your battery faster. Use wifi when you need it only, because lte/3g has fast dormancy.

Is that new? Keeping wifi on used to SAVE battery.
Saves battery sometimes when you are using data not when your phone is supposed to be in deep sleep

I'm sure this is a problem on most phones, but I thought I'd ask here for any advice.
I've used privacy guard and blocked:
Location, Wake Up, and Keep Awake for - Google Play Services
Wake up, Keep awake for - Google Play Store
Google Account Manager has never had a wakeup, Backup Transport and Contacts Sync don't have wakeup or keep awake settings.
Google Services Framework has only had a wake up (two days ago) and the last keep awake was yesterday, so I don't think thats it.
I'm sure that something with google services is wrong, as it's had a 13h wakelock and nearly and hour of cpu usage.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Fantastic, thanks.
I followed the guide (although I think it could use an older version of the app, as some stuff was slightly different, and took me a while to find...or I'm just stupid) and I dropped 4% in 8 hours. With wifi on, (although admittedly only 15m of screen time). Still Yesterday when it was dropping 10-15%.
Hey
I was wondering if you got any tips to improve battery life. I've tried to supply as much pictures as needed. I have greenify donation package with all experimental functions enabled and greenified every app which shows up on 'running on the background', I also have amplify pro version. Besides that I flashed franco kernel and flashed the modified google play service. Screen brightness is always around 10-30% and wifi/3G on all day.

Cheers!
Up? ?
I use greenify, could turn off WiFi when sleeping, but that may incur higher data charges, boeffla kernel. I heard you could turn off all vibrate settings to save battery life.

What would you class as great please?
Have you done the usual stuff like disabling/removing any apps you aren't using, manually syncing any apps that you don't rely on for notifications? Switch location services to battery saving if you haven't already. I try to avoid facebook apps (using a facebook browser app) for batteryand privacy reasons, the messenger app features quite highly in your wake stats.
You could try leandroid, to further manage wifi/mobile data connectivity. It can be set to come on at specific intervals to pick up any notifications/messages/etc, then swtich off again to conserve battery.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.leandata
Automate IT to automate things like switching off wifi/data/sync at night, lots of different uses really good app and a bit more straight forward compared to Tasker.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=AutomateIt.mainPackage
Use BetterBatteryStats to identify if any apps are causing wake locks. Toggle mobile data, wifi, bluetooth off when not in use. Long press home and close running apps if you aren't using them. Try rebooting after re-charging.

No profiles needed, you just go into Privacy Guard, enable built in apps, long press on Google Play Services, then disable the "wake up" and "keep awake" options. I'd highly recommend Greenify too, so many apps run in the background when you don't need them to and Greenify stops them dead in their tracks.

The only disadvantage I've found is that Google Now cards don't update your location very often. So if you rely on frequent location updating then this isn't the solution for you. Other than that everything works as it should for me.

Hi guys,
In the last few days google app is draining my battery. It is disabled for wake up and keep awake in privacy mode, I tried to calibrate the battery, nothing helps. Even when I put it on flight mode, the draining is insane!

As you have not rooted your bacon, only thing I can suggest you is that with the help of Privacy Settings, disable access for wake up and keep awake for the apps which are not oftenly used and also Google Play Services
Battery saver mode disables background services of the apps and lowers done the device performance
Combination of above stuffs can help you increase your battery life to some extend
