[Q] Guide for ROM building?

Hello guys ,
I wanted to ask you if someone could give me a Guide how to build the stock ROM ,and cherry pick commits ,features?
Thanks, BTW I'm noob on these things ,sorry
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can't build the stock rom. Some of it is closed source. You can build aosp rom which is similar. There's a guide in general.
Don't worry about cherry picking now. Wait til you can build

Sync the repo, and make sure your build is successful. You can then pm me for cherry-pick info if interested. Its quite simple.

You can run git status and see what the output is. Chances are you'll want to wipe out your workspace:
Code:
cd ~/android/MSM
rm -rf *
repo sync -l

Seriously? Is it too much effort to scroll through the development sections to look for it? I guarantee you it won't take long to find it.
Thanks by the way!

or cm based roms. i believe that there's a hybrid or two as well.
Basically, by reading the thread of the ROM you're using.

Quite a few ROMs that say AOSP but have CAF parts in them, such as Carbon.

ROMs that have some CAF aspects (Sound etc), generally don't say they do - and also use AOSP kernels anyway.
OK I extend my Answer
"Basically, by reading the thread of the ROM you're using. If it is not obvious, ask in the ROM thread - Do not ask in Kernel threads"

[Q] This is probably a dumb question but here it goes

Since I am rooted, when Lollypop comes out will I be able to get the OTA or will I have to flash a ROM? If I can get the OTA will I have to re-root or will it all just work?
Thanks in advance!

thats probably the most asked question in android, ever since the g1 got rooted. and after ever single update, that question gets repeatedly asked, over and over.

He gave you the source to the fix. There's no native setting to do at the moment... It needs to be done by the rom developer.
