Possible daily Driver
Hey been following the offical cm12 for droid maxx for a bit was sad when cm dropped support for my phone but now that its back im happy again. Well anyways i know cm12 being relatively newish i was wondering if this would be able to be run as a daily driver. i know its buggy i dont mind fc's but as long as i got txt, voice, data, and gps ill be happy.
so would this be able to run as a daily driver? i currently do not have another phone to work with
I do have a droid maxx Dev edition
Edit: I Figured it out this can be deleted thanks also yes it can be a daily driver obviously with above statements.

In using a droid ultra and have been running since 1/24 nightly. There is the ear piece bug when making a call (toggle speaker and untoggle to get ear piece to work). The biggest issue is for me is no ambient display. I don't know if they are going to add that in later or not but I have been using acdisplay and that has been working fine for me

I've tried all methods posted and no luck. Guess CM12 isn't for me.
Prior to trying I was stock su6-7 but with ART other than that I was pretty bland.
Best of luck to all. I will try again in the future, but enough of my day has been wasted today. I tried both 01/24 and 01/31 for all the methods listed. Waited a minimum of 20 minutes for boot each time.

I would dump art and go back to dalvik. Run with that for a couple days and try it again.

Thanks for the input, I will try this at work tomorrow.
Which build, nightly and gapps combo did you use? Which recovery and wipe sequence?
Thanks again.

Back on Dalvik and no joy so far. Keeping fingers crossed one day it will work. Funny how each phone is a little different.

sorry for the late response hope you are/were able to figure it out
No worries @smokyngordo I used the below to get CM12 since a clean install wasn't working for me
CM12 didn't work for me either I had to go through CM11 and upgrade<br />
<br />
Started with stock su6-7<br />
<br />
CM11<br />
Used instructions from this post<br />
<br />
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2911626<br />
<br />
I used the snapshot version of cm11<br />
<br />
I had to change my<br />
ro.product.device and ro.build.product to ghost in the build prop prior to flashing since I was getting status 7 errors<br />
<br />
I needed a factory reset since I also received incompatible data errors <br />
<br />
CM12<br />
<br />
After install and initial boot of cm11<br />
Used rashr to flash back twrp 2.8.4.0 recovery<br />
Factory reset<br />
<br />
I flashed cm12 01/24 build with these gapps <br />
<br />
https://s.basketbuild.com/filedl/gapps?dl=gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip<br />
<br />
Haven't taken other nightlies due to errors being reported<br />
<br />
All good from there so far(only one day in though)<br />
<br />
Hope this helps.<br/>

Because I can't post in android development sections, I will post my 'mod' here.
I have made a mod that will give you 30 steps in volume control when you are listening to music, instead of the default 15 steps.
I've made it with help of the tutorial made by HeadFox.
This mod is 100% working with the latest (6 August) CM10.1 rom from albinoman.
This should work with other 10.1 roms too, if the framework is the same as in the mod.
I'm glad I have found this tutorial, I hated the 15 steps...
Flash zip in recovery.
*UPDATES*
3/10
30 steps volume for Viper 3.1.2 in attachments
7/10
Added 30 volume steps CM-10.2 AOSP 4.3 Jellybean KANG
9/10
Added 30 volume steps CarbonRom 8-10-2013
15/10
Added 30 volume steps CarbonRom 14-10-2013
20/10
Added 30 volume steps CM-10.2 19-10-2013 for Samsung Galaxy S
The mods I have created after 20/10 are containing a new script, when you flash the mod it will create a backup of your original framework.
When you end up in a bootloop because the framework is changed (when a rom is updated for example), you can find the backup zip in \UniversalFlasher
Thanks @ahsan64 for sending me the script.
22/10
Added 45 Steps Volume for ViperS. 3.1.2
23/10
Added 30 Steps Volume for CM10.2 with PMEM 18-10-2013
24/10
Added 30 Steps Volume for MIUI v5 18-10-2013
28/10
Added 30 Steps Volume for CM10.2 with PMEM 26-10-2013 (name of zip is dated as 27/10)
17/11
Added 30 Steps Volume for CM10.2 with PMEM 1-11-2013
If anyone has a request, feel free to ask, I can also make 30 steps or an 45 steps mod.
Attach the framework.jar in your post, you can find it in \system\framework and give the name of the rom so everyone can enjoy the mod for their favorite rom

Make a backup of your rom and flash it.
If you forgot to do that, it is possible to flash the rom again over your current one. But make a backup of the rom is the most smart thing to do

Best way to do the 30 step volume mod without setting anything in stone is with the Xposed module Xvolume30. Just search Xposed Installer here on XDA and you can install it straight from the app. All you have to do to disable that version is uncheck it in Xposed Installer and reboot.

But first make a backup of the rom and let me know if it works or not, I haven't tested it

Great to hear, thanks for letting me know.
I don't know that either, it's pretty simple when you know how to do it. I think it's a peace of cake for the developers to make this adjustment.
But maybe they don't listen to music on their phone.

You can give it a shot, but I can not confirm if it works or not.
Make a backup of the rom first or use the tool that damagedbits has as an option.
If the framework is different/changed, I have to make a new adjustment to the framework to get it working.
In the past I had a working mod for a rom, but when they change things in the framework, it is possible I will not work anymore.
Let me know if it worked for you or not, I can make one if you want for the rom.

Update 2014-01-15
Well, the wait has an end! Official nightlies are out! That means I'm off the hook for building!
I'd like to thank everybody who participated by flashing, and posting in this thread. I really had a great time building CM11 for this device! Obviously, the CM team deserves the credit, they were the ones who gave us this awesome ROM!
Official CM11 nightlies can be downloaded here:
N9005
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltexx
To flash the 2014-01-15 nightly on the N9005, you must first remove a device check for hltexx in the update script. You can do this by opening up the .zip, editing the updater-script located under /META-INF/com/google/android/, and removing the assert(...) line at the top.
Other Versions:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltetmo (t-mobile)
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltespr (sprint)
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltevzw (verizon)
Happy Flashing!!

Warning/Compatibility:
I have tested this on my N9005 only. I removed the assert line in the update script so it can be flashed directly w/o editing.

The Future
I'm on leave for a couple of days, so if testers want to attach logcats ill take a look at what i can fix.
I guess I'll sync and build daily for the next couple of days, or until a more experienced developer comes along and builds CM11
Great work, It's nice to see I would test, however im having to use my phone as a connection point..so with no data connection it could mean im stuck until I get to another connection
Goodluck and look forward to seeing more from you

Yes, I have the N9005. I was breakfasting and brunching hltexx. Is hltexx not the 9005?
Did not see that patch, thanks for that! I'll apply it and rebuild tomorrow. Its 2AM now, I'm done for today.
PS: camera likes to hog CPU time on this build. Can kill it via terminal emu or delete the apk from system/app.
LTE working just spiffy here. I didn't need to patch or pull any files. Added muppets repo and it built smoothly.

Yeah. Brunched cm_hltexx-eng. Had to patch updater_script as explained in the thread in order to flash my zip. Audio worked but was pretty quiet. Camera was borked in a big way. I actually nandroided back to TW because in my excitement I forgot to offload my gallery pictures and backup my sms.
But damn that was a wonderful few minutes of CM glory!
Does external sdcard work in your build? It doesn't detect properly on hltetmo and it looks like it's an issue with the hlte common repo that affects all variants.

Can confirm its not working on yesterdays build. Will report back if anything is fixed in the new build!
Psss.
Nice to see any progress.
G00D JOB.
I cant wait for a stable release.
I need the DATA & GALLERY & CAMERA and all other working ..
But it's great news - I had a Xiaomi MI2A and NOTE I and i changed to NOTE III , cant wait for 4.4.2 or CM from any kind.
Managed to get it up and running on my n9005, although it thinks its a n9000. Camera and gallery seem to be working OK, still no external storage and unable to hang up from calls....

My build showed up as N9000 too. But my build.prop was a mess. I was brunching hltexx. Now trying cm_hltexx-eng. I'ts almost done.
Anything special you did while building? I'm guessing you're using the same repos as posted here, or?

Well the build from this morning is no good. Stuck on Samsung logo on boot.
Going to clean, sync and try again!
Just finished another build but couldn't get it to flash, I get a status 7 error, this package is for "htlexx" device; this is a "htle" which is the same as before so without changing the update script which I'm not going to do now as I have to be up for work 5 hours it won't flash....
And yes I'm using the same repos posted here to answer your question from earlier...
My first build sat on the Samsung logo for what felt like few minutes before it booted so give it time if it happens again.

I guess I'll sync and build daily for the next couple of days, or until a more experienced developer comes along and builds CM11

I think you have either patched something wrong or used some wrong source, because if you have a look in carrier settings, it gives CDMA options in the settings.

Something was borked. Did not patch anything myself, not sure what it was. Uploading a new build now, it's running better. Camera, data (3G/4G) and sound (can't testify on in call sound yet) are working now, but its experiencing a similar issue others have reported regarding hanging up a call.

Hi.
I have the stock version installed on multirom (LRX21O) and i have a lot of problem with WiFi (i can't use proxy to connect in company network, it works after reboot but if i lose connection i have to reboot it again to make it working...).
This version is also affected by this problem or it's fixed? I read that Google fixed it in the OTA release for Nexus 4...

Yes i know, i have a Nexus 5 too. I read only that Google fix the problem of the WiFi in the OTA for Nexus 4. The normal WiFi works fine, i have problem (and like me all my colleagues having a N5 with Android 5) when we try to connect the phone to the internal network, that need a proxy server to surf on external host (so basically without it you can surf only Intranet).
It's like it doesn't solve the host (it doesn't work also using app like ProxyDroid, on 4.4.4 was working fine).
The problem is fixed if you reboot the phone leaving it connected to WiFi (so it connects automatically after rebooting), but if for whatever reason you lost the connection to the WiFi you have to reboot it again to make it working.
I don't know if i was enough clear explaining my problem

Thanks. That's what I figured but wanted to double check. It stinks cause Xposed is awesome.
I have been searching for "close to stock" permissive kernel and i found this closed thread. Will the permissive boot.zip posted there work on stock Lollipop rom LRX21O??
Previous builds unusable; fixed?
I tried three builds as they came out, up to the previous. They were all unusable because the error "Unfortunately, Update Device has stopped" kept appearing as fast as I could dismiss the message. I'm on Sprint using the stock lollipop radio and bootloader now but also tried using those that you linked to in OP, and got the same results. Is anyone else having this problem? What causes this? Has this been fixed yet, or is there a workaround? I wanted to try disabling it with pm disable, but can't find its name in pm -l. I'm putting off trying new builds until there's some indication of a solution.

Just watch the xposed site for updates to support ART. They predict that it may take a few months if they even do it at all.

Other users have posted bandaid solutions in the main thread. Three files from the stock ROM need to be added, because they're either missing from AOSP or incompatible.

My phone won't wake unless it's plugged in. I suspect its related to having a ton of apps installed. I'm going to try disabling a bunch.
What's with the double tap to wake option ? Does it have any drain like every other dt2w for nexus 5?
how to root?

Is the quickboot working?
I have an issue. Nexus 5 on Sprint. Can't straight up flash this unless I flash the Sprintfix.zip. then boots fine...good signal... Just says no Sim when I pull down notification window. I can deal with that...my issue is the cm messaging app. The send arrow will not function to send the message. I can turn to landscape the arrow changes to a button with send on it...I click it and nothing happens. Like its dead. Anyone else On Sprint have this issue. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. <br />
<br />
PS...I know I can use a different messaging app but I prefer this one. For one...the icon is awesome. For two...its got all the options I need. Thanks again. <br />

how is the slimkat ROM with recording in places like concerts, clubs or festivals? Cyanogen Mod is incapable of doing so as the sound gets heavily distorted.

simarilon - SlimLP Question
"simarilon
So I just flashed the latest SlimLP.. I think I will never go back to KK. It's so incredible smooth and stable. Some features are missing but it is anyway not worth to go back to KK. Good bye good old Kitkat"
What Gapps did you use? I didn't see any for LP.
Hi, I have the one plus one, and I unlocked the bootloader, flashed the TWRP recovery, and then installed supersu. Everything work as it should. I wanted to try this ROM. So I did the factory reset in TWRP, flashed this ROM, and GAPPS. Rebooted and everything works, but I downloaded a Root checker and it said I was not rooted. I tried to install SuperSU from the play store, but it failed. How do I get root access at this point? Thanks in advance!!!

Does the double tap to wake option exist at all? Can't find it anywhere nor does it work straight out of the box. I'm on build 9. Can't really stand being without this feature after having it in every other rom.
Best rom ever!!
This rom is the best rom out of all of the lollipop and kitkat roms I have tried.

SlimKat (Bacon) & AK Kernel question
Hi
Coming from LP, i've installed Slim-bacon-4.4.4.build.9.0-OFFICIAL-8300 with Slim-Addons-normal_gapps.4.4.4.build.9-20150107.zip and Full-XNPH44S-modem-flashable.
All's fine.
But i wanted to install AK Kernel.
so in Philz's revovery i did clear for new install/wipe cache and install in order SlimKat/gapps/superSU and AK.287.OPO.CM12.1 But with rebot i stay with SlimKat boot image
i ve triedf the same with AK.291.OPO.CM12.1 for the same result.
Anyone have an idea ??
Thanks @Kye2000 and @NextDroid for the help in building this rom.
I'm not on the level of actually developing roms yet, so although I can provide updated builds, I'm not going to be able to do anything about bugs myself.
Things working: Pretty much everything, including the wide angle camera
Things not working:
IR Blaster
Notable bugs:
enabling adb debugging can cause the phone to reboot.
Installation:
Wipe data/cache/system and flash
Follow instructions here to get NFC working this shouldn't be needed anymore
Just for reference: flash this if you want to disable nfc and the wakelock

I can
I seem to have a bug or turned on a setting I not sure how to undo. When I have my screen turned off the ambient display works (which is great) but when I flip the phone over so that it thinks the screen is facing downward or in my pocket, it turns off the ambient display. When I try to turn on the screen again either by double tapping or pressing the power button, it can take up to a minute for the screen to reactivate.
Another issue (though it may be just my headset), when pressing on the play/pause button of the bluetooth headphones, the phone doesn't respond to it.
But otherwise, the phone seems to work quite well. Super happy that we finally got this new version.
What gapps do I flash? I can install my own versions of google apps. Does GPS work?

For H830 everything runs super smooth too, but I did find a few bugs. Weather icon on lock screen won't show, volume panel never goes away despite custom time out selection, volume panel options shows on 2 different menus, long pressing wifi quick setting breaks the quick panel, rotation lock notification won't follow status bar color changes (a few more I can't remember right now) but I'm pretty sure this aren't G5 specific and are more RR 6.0 general bugs.

Hello!
Today I tried to use the RF Signal blaster that I know worked in other roms, but for some reason it doesn't work on this ROM.
I haven't tried on any other Oreo ROM.
Could someone look into why? And perhaps a fix?
It could also just be my device.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
