Lost Root with CM12 nighly update - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got my phone last night ! Rooted, unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP etc... I downloaded the CM12 nightly and went for the upgrade, but I cannot seem to retain root. Root stays with BlissPop, and if I remain on CM11, but is lost with CM12. I even checked root privilages in the developer section and allowed for apps and ADB. Finally, I tried to manually re-install via TWRP flashing SuperSU.
Anyone have any ideas... this is bazaar !
Thanks !

Root is built into Privacy Guard on CM12.

Got it !! Thanks !!
Unfortunately TiBu is not restoring apps even though it now has root

Try using Backup+ instead, Titanium still doesn't completely work with Lollipop.

Root LG G3 D850 (AT&T)

I rooted my phone, then installed CM12 Lollipop ROM. Now my phone is no longer rooted. I thought that after installing a ROM the phone remained rooted. Now I can't root my phone, the adb command doen't work to root it again, also tried the TowelRoot method, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions? I want to root it so I can reboot into recovery and install other ROMS or backup my current ROM (using TWR manager or Clockwork MOD ROM manager) and run other tools.
If you installed CM12, then you have root and recovery. I'm not sure what you did wrong or what you've missed, but it's all there. Did you go in Developer Settings and make sure that root access is enabled. Also, you need to have SuperSU installed as well. Good luck.

Adb reboot recovery doesn't require root. So that's an option. Also cm supports advanced reboot into recovery when you enable it in developer options.
Off topic. How well does cm12 run on this device? Thinking about putting it on my d850.
Never mind. Don't worry about my question. I'll look through the thread and see what I can find about what's broken.

[Q] 05Q and Root problem

I don't know why but the latest 05Q seems to keep losing root after using the phone for a while (10-20 Minutes). How to solve this? This is pretty damn annoying. Tried SuperSU v2.40 & v2.45 still keep saying phone is not rooted after the phone has been booted a while.
You're probably better off asking this in the pre-existing OTA thread:

Did you flash SuperSU or try a play store install? Flash has always worked best for me via twrp

[Q] Can't Install Supersu On Oneplus One - Stuck On Black Screen! Help

I recently decided to root my oneplus one. However i ended up flashing a custom rom (cm12 Lollipop) before flashing the supersu binary. I downloaded the latest version of supersu and copied it onto the root of the phone and flashed it via recovery countless times. But for some reason, after i boot the phone back up and open supersu, it just lags and then displays a black screen. I downloaded it from the playstore as well, but it just won't open. Root checker says its not rooted, despite having a custom rom installed. What do i do?? Please help
You don't need to install SuperSU on CM12, superuser is built into Privacy Guard. Perform a full wipe and flash CM12 + gapps again without installing SuperSU and you should be fine.

Sometime CM12"s"

Hello all.
In a few days we will have CM12 "S" or oxygen os 12
For OnePlus one root with custom recovery how we do for a clean install and keep root?
Update for OTA or instal whith recovery?
Thanks for answers
You can't keep root during an OTA. Just take the update and then flash SuperSU again afterwards to get root back.

Yes, as long as you have "update cm recovery" disabled in Developer Options.

[Q] About root and CM12.1

Hey, I' ve got my Oneplus One now with CM12 (20150415 nightly), and rooted months ago with zedomax tutorial (can't post link).
With the tutorial, I unlocked the bootloader, flashed SuperSu binaries, installed TWRP recovery and then flashed CM11.
I've some issues with the root. When I try apps requiring root permissions it says they're not enabled. I've also messed flashing CM12.1 yesterday, because I forgot the 5.1 gapps, and had to go back to CM12. Of course now there are a lot of problems with several apps and processes.
I have backups of everything and I don't mind losing data, and my question is: can I follow an xda tutorial to do all the process again? I mean, even my phone is not stock, can I reunlock the bootloader (to erase everything) and do everything well?
I have also another doubt: do I need to flash SuperSu binaries, or CM is prerooted?
Thank you and sorry for my inexperience (I try to progress )

try to flash the stock images with ADB (there are lots of tutorials on the forum here), it will wipe everything and you can have a clean start, then if you want to update to 5.0.2/5.1.1 just download the firmware update, the rom and Gapps. Most of the rooms as for now have a built in root, but maybe it disabled so you have to enabled it through developer settings.
