I have a true developer phone with the "S" off. Is there a developer in the Dallas area that would like to take a look at at. I am having a minor issue with connecting to the internet over a data plan. It connect fine over WiFi. I am willing to allow my to be worked on for some help.

Which US carrier are you using the phone on? Is this a carrier branded phone and if so, which carrier?
Sorry bout that. T Mobile. But it is unlocked.

How about APN configuration?
Are you using the correct values?
I think you can confirm this in your carrier suport page. I guess.
Is the reason I have no cellular data because this phone does not support cellular data in 3g only voice? The HTC FAQs seem to be suggesting this?

thanks for that
I discovered that although the country and carrier come automatically from the sim it is necessary to tap the confirmation in network setup:
I tried this C-spire ROM on GSM photon Q, but I wasn't able to find 'allow GSM data' option in settings...
Voice is okay, but couldn't connect to 3G... What did I miss?

Yeah, but you have a decent signal and you can make a call.
However, text and data isn't good, and I guess this is related to 'Allow GSM data' and SMS Guards functions in the settings, which this cspire rom is missing

So are you saying on the stock ROM you don't have decent signal which doesn't allow you to make a phone call....?
I don't understand why you're even trying to flash this C-Spire ROM.
What I'm trying to do is just to try out different ROM while we don't have CM10 or ASOP.
I can't use tethering on GSM modded photon Q, and I suspect this is related to the ROM-specific glitch...
The certain part of ROM might be holding off data flow.
I wish we had any custom ROM daily driver.

apnconf is very solid in C-spire. Already there. the one thing different from Sprint photon Q.
Something is disabled in deep level, and sprint setup allows us to turn on, and cspire don't.
I even exchanged phone.apk, and mobile internet settings got changed a little bit, but still no option for GSM data.
Hi, did anyone tried to flash c-spire photon q with sprint firmware (using RDS lite)?
They`re both xt897 so it should work...
Hi guys, this is my first post so please be easy on me. I have an unlocked Sprint Note5 that I use on Tmobile network right now. I added the 'fast. t-mobile.com' APN and have mobile network working. BUT ONLY 3G!! The fastest I've gotten so far is about 10 Mbps or so, and usually it's just 2-3 Mbps.
My question: is there a way for me to get LTE on this device with Tmobile? Or it's hardware/software impossible? For the simple reason of Samsung Pay, I'd rather not root my phone. The Samsung Pay has given A LOT promotions so far and I prefer to keep it.

I was in this same predicament. You have to choose LTE.
What worked for me was choosing LTE/CDMA mode from Network Mode and then when setting up the APN, there should be a section at the bottom that says 'Bearer'. Click that and choose LTE. After that LTE started working for me. You should also be able to switch to Automatic Network Mode after this.
so is the phone already unlock
OMG, it worked like magic!! Who would know to choose LTE/CDMA knowing that Tmobile uses GSM. Many many thanks!! All of sudden I'm getting ~50 Mbps v.s. the 2 Mbps 3G speed. This is NICE!

I bought the phone at full price at Best Buy and it took me a while fighting with Sprint to get it unlocked (I was with Sprint at the time even). According to their unlock policy posted online, the phone should be automatically unlocked already if bought at full price. They honored that but it just took forever and so many departments to get it done eventually. You'd have to be tenacious about it. I plan to do a factory reset with tmobile sim in to get rid of all the Sprint bloatware.

Hi everybody, also my first message here.
I got the same problem, but a little worse. I bought a SM N920P unlocked by mistake (from ebay) as I didn`t know that Sprint was CDMA. I live in Brazil and there`s only GSM carriers. It works here for voice and data but can only get 3G (up to 8mbps) while my other phone (moto e 4G) goes up to 30 mbps. And if I choose LTE/CDMA it goes offline .
And worse, it always trying to activate and receiving the message 'activation not completed'.
I wonder if I root it could it be turned from N920P into N920i or any other.... is it possible?

Hey I'm on Verizon note 5, and I haven't found a fix yet. However, u can follow my fix here.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3280342
last post in the thread. I've found a way to enable LTE, until a phone call is made, then u need to switch back to cdma/LTE until LTE pops up, then switch it back to global. It's a solution, but kind of sucks.

fix for all your issues.
This is the fix that worked for me but, you need to have your MSL code for the phone...everything works for me LTE MMS everything.
youtube{dot}com/watch?v=5tBeKAGkc1Y
As far as to remove hands free activation..your phone needs to be rooted and follow this guide since this method worked for me.
youtube{dot}com/watch?v=-SEVcT9FJvw
You need to put it back to auto after you get lte to work. This allows it to switch between the two when you are making calls or online. If you keep it in lte/cdma, your gsm carrier will not wotk.
This worked for perfectly for me! Thanks foruonlyfrom007 for the advice to set it to automatic. Now i have LTE and can make calls with no issues! And by the way all you have to do is download package disabler from playstore to stop the activation, no root necessary

Yes I was able to get mms working perfectly simply by adding port 80 as the mms port.
My only problem now is that mms only works when I am not connected to wifi. If I receive any mms I have to disconnect from wifi and then tap it to receive it.
If anyone knows how to make mms work with wifi too, please comment and add @textbook.

something about wifi handover to lte making sure wifi calling is on but i saw a setting in mine somewhere just for that
New to this forum. Just got my Motorola One Hyper today. Am I able to make wi-fi calls on this phone? When I go to my Settings, Wi-Fi Calling is grayed out. If I long press it, Wi-Fi Calling comes up, but again, the screen is grayed out. It will not allow me to enable it. I am connected to my home wi-fi network, so that is not the problem. Thanks in advance.
It depends on your carrier, call customer service and ask if they use wifi calling. It works for me on T-Mobile on both stock and omni out of the box.
Beyond that, make sure you are updated to the latest stock firmware. The last update fixed volte and vowifi.

Thanks for the response. After the phone went through all of its updating, the wi-fi issue solved itself. But I have another question. This phone was labeled as "International version" when I purchased it. I discovered that it's actually (RETLA), thus the instructions only came in Spanish. Will this be an issue using it in the USA?
Thanks
What's the model number?
Mine is xt2027-1
If it's xt2027-3, you might be missing some lte bands...

Go to the link below, it compares the bands different models of our phone operate on. If more bands are compatible with your network, your network reception will improve.
