[NKD][Android L] Kernel Panic - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think I've solved the mystery of the Kernel Panic on the NKD leaked version of Lollipop. I turned off Power Saving mode competely and have not had a kernel panic since (except for the one that I was hoping to get). After 2 days of running smooth with Power Saving off, I went from stock kernel to KT Kernel and got a kernel panic within 30 minutes. Went back to stock kernel (Power Saving still off) and still have not had a Kernel Panic in 3 more days. My suspicion is that NKD does not like having the power lowered and from what I've read, KT Kernel is under volted by 5 as standard. For those that are getting the Kernel Panic message, try turning off Power Saving and see how that goes.

Has anybody found a root for the new lollipop version?
Has anybody found a root for the new lollipop version on the sport version of the s5?

[Q] Phone stuttering after flashing kernel.

I couldnt post in the kernel thread because I don't have enough posts yet..
I installed clean Rom a month or so ago and have been updating to the new versions ever
Since, everything had been running perfectly on the stock kernel. I got the itch to try a new kernel and
decided to try out the elemental kernel (later tried the beast mode as well). Ever since I flashed the new
kernels in recovery my phone keeps stuttering and the screen jumps a bit every couple of seconds, also the
browser keeps reloading when I am on google.com.
I have tried flashing both kernels with different options as well as clearing cache before and after flashing, plus
fixing permissions but the problem continues. I also did a factory reset and reinstalled clean Rom and both kernels.
Has anyone had this happen to them before and know of a solution?
Thanks in advance.
Are you overclocked? Not every phone can handle oc'ing.
No. At first I tried the kernels with the oc to 1.7 option, but then I tried both kernels with no oc, no gpu oc, no sweep to wake, and no
Under volt but the screen kept flickering and the apps kept having hiccups.
I flashed the stock kernel from viperxl and now the phone is back to normal.
I am on 2.20 with the hboot 1.14 by the way.

CleanROM 5.6 with LeanKernel

Has anyone tried this and know if this is a good combo for speed, battery, etc? And if I flash, should I flash the rom and the kernel at the same time or boot cr then reeboot and flash lk? Thanks to anyone who helps!

It's what I use.
In twrp, I flashed cleanrom and then lean kernel and then rebooted my phone.
ROM kernel combo is very smooth and fast with best battery life. I stayed on WiFi all day.
Clean ROM 5. 6 le with lean kernel
Power saving mode is on.
2 hours and 33 minutes screen on time.
Just an average day on clean ROM.
I was streaming Pandora over 4g for a while.
sent from that young galaxy on clean ROM!
I haven't given any custom kernel a chance yet cos I been getting amazing battery life on the ICS OTA modem/rpm using stock kernel. getting somewhere around 5 hours screen on time!
lean kernel would be my second option for a custom kernel though, behind Ziggy.

[HELP] Installed new kernel, phone won't turn on now

I've had my phone up and running on AOKP Milestone 1 and a custom kernel (can't remember the name now) for a few months now. I decided to replace the kernel with Lean Kernel since my phone's been crashing recently, and it was mentioned that the kernel could be the problem (this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842971&page=135).
After installing the kernel and wiping the cache/Dalvik cache, my phone rebooted but would not let me past the lockscreen. I then pulled the battery and attempted to reboot into recovery, but now my phone won't turn on at all. I'm currently charging my phone but no light is coming on, so kinda worried.
Any advice/solutions would be appreciated!
EDIT: I should also mention that if I pull the battery and put it back in, I get a "battery charging" symbol on the screen for a few seconds.
Download mode?

Did you install the proper LeanKernel? If you are on AOKP milestone 1 that is 4.1 based. The newest LeanKernel is 4.2 based. Could be the problem. There are also distinctions between AOSP and TouchWiz kernels. Do you know which version you flashed?
Regardless, if you can get into download mode like hank said, you should be ok.
Can't Boot into recovery with three button method?
Tried getting into download mode?
Well I feel dumb but after some searching around, people recommended just blowing on the battery contacts. This solved it, so case closed! Thanks for all of the advice though.
And yes, the lean kernel was for TouchWiz roms, which got me into this mess in the first place.

just some questions..

is anyone randomly losing and getting back their signal the next moment.... im wondering if this is cause of Virgin or the nexus 5
and i flashed the new1.2 deodexed kangabat and flashed franco kernel is it normal if my phone's power button stops responding,... because i had to reflash kangabat 1.2 without franco and now its working just wondering if its just me

Galaxy S3 crazy problem

Hello,
this is my first post here.
My Samsung Galaxy S3 is acting really weird. As I am using it, suddenly horizontal lines appear on the screen and go like crazy. After a while, the phone screen freezes.
Sometimes, it may reboot by itself, but most of the times I have to remove the battery in order to get it working again. However, after rebooting, the battery percentage greatly falls. i.e. from 40% to 3%.
It is rare, but also happens, that the led buttons flash like crazy, and even the notification LED.
I have to admit, that the battery is a bit swollen. But, can all these problems be related to the battery issue?
Does someone have a similar issue, or maybe can provide help?
Here is a video of the problem:
Thank you,
jim
Any opinion or suggestion?
Yes, a swollen battery can cause many problems relating to device and battery usage. Also, please stop using your device ASAP, swollen batteries can leak and/or explode.
LG Optimus 2X:

I definitely think you should take the battery out straight away and dispose of it properly as it's very likely it could explode or burst.
As for the other problems I'm sure they are being caused by the battery but have you tried a full reset of the device?
