[Q] Enable floating apps - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I've run into a little problem, I just got my Honor 6, but there seems to be a setting blocking or restricting floating apps (Facebook chat heads, hover chat etc, viral player) from hovering outside of their respective apps. The apps seem to work, but they just don't hover outside of their respective apps e.g. outside of the Facebook messenger window.
Has anyone been able to solve this issue? Thanks.

Figured it out. It's a special setting for "Dropzone management"
Go to PhoneManager App -> Settings -> Dropzone management and check ALL.
Hope this helps anyone else having problems with it.

good
i found your tip useful and i it worked for mee toooo

marketplace download unsuccesful?

it seems that all my downloads today are unsuccesful, but they worked perfectly fine yesterday. anybody else having that issue?
found a fix for this... http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=71fc08c34b0a48dc&hl=en
SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS
Once in manage applications, click the menu button and select filter and filter by all.
Now delete the data AND cache for the following applications (if you only get the option to delete one or the other, then do what is available):
Download Manager
Google Apps
Google Talk Service
Google Talk Storage
Internet
Market
Talk
worked for most people, including myself, but not all... not sure why though...

[Q] Picture upload to Facebook is always set to private/only me

Hey.
When i upload pictures via pictures hub directly to facebook nobody can see it.
The standard setting is only me. I changed microsoft under settings @ facebook to friends but this does not fixed it.
does anyone else have this problem (and know how to fix it)?
this problem is not permanent. it worked a while but since a few months i have to manually change who can see it.
Hi! For me this works perfectly.
You might want to try changing the settings of the "Mobile Uploads"- Album on the facebook website.. maybe the album is set to private by default.
Furthermore you could check your privacy Settings on the Facebook Website, you might find something over there,
Cheers
Hello i had the same problem and posted it here to the forum. i solved it on facebook, first go to your profile and search there for "Windows Phone", facebook named it "app", here is the link, it work i think only if you turn of https for the setup, after that you can turn it on again.
https://apps.facebook.com/7933375107/ i have it now on https security and it says https is not supported by i setup the "app" "Windows Phone" on facebook to post in my name and to share it only with my friends.
The second place where you should look is in the profile options, there should be a section (overall options, security, notifications, abo., and then "apps") under app try to find something where you can change i think it is under the name "Microsoft" and there under "post in your name and so on. enable this and at the bottom of this "Microsoft" (App) should be "who sees my posts" you select what you want there. thats because of restrictions from facebook, but Microsoft i heard never talked about it, but many people complain about that.
That should solve your problem, if you post via the "Me hub"

Help with 3rd Party Facebook Contact Pictures

After updating to 4.1.2 using Matt's Utility, I am no longer able to see contact pictures in 3rd party apps such as Handcent and Google Voice. The fix I used before can be seen in this link: ICS / Handcent / Contact pictures. It basically just unrestricts the Facebook data for use in other apps. On my phone, the process seems to run and complete (I just use a terminal emulator on the phone), however it does not work. My Facebook contact pictures are on my phone, 3rd party apps just cannot access them.
I am currently running 4.1.2 stock rooted.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and what methods can be used to remedy this.
Thanks!
Well after messing around some more, I finally found a solution that works pretty well (and seems to have high-res pics).
The method I used can be found in this thread: [APP][2.1+]SyncMyPix - ICS-JB and Facebook Fix-(Better High Res Pic Update). Thanks to Deadknight for coming up with this solution (modifying the SyncMyPix app).
For me, the instructions were a little confusing since it seems that some of the steps have changed on Facebook's side (and my own misinterpretation), so here is how I did it (modified from the thread above):
Create an application on your Facebook account from developers.facebook.com. A video showing how to do so can be found here: Create Facebook application. Some of the layouts and stuff has changed but it is the same general process (mainly relevant from 0:45 to 3:40).
.
Download the APK from the thread above and install it on your phone. Once installed, open the app and click on "Settings" -> "Application Id" and then enter the Application ID from the application you created on your Facebook account (see Application ID Example).
.
While still in "Settings," scroll down and check "Maximum Quality" and uncheck "Crop".
.
Go back to the main screen of the app and click "Sync". The first time you do this a Facebook log in screen will appear and ask for you to authorize the app. Once you do so, your Facebook contact pictures will begin to sync to your device.
That's pretty much the steps that I followed to get pictures to work on 3rd party apps like Handcent, Google Voice, etc. Hopefully no one else runs into this issue (I'm still not sure why I ran into this issue yet...), but if you have any questions, please reference the main thread above or let me know.
** Again, all thanks should be given to Deadknight for coming up with this solution!

[Q] newbie to android. Have some Q's

Hi TIA for helping.
issues need help with
1) how do i play music movies? on the ios itunes handle everything. i searched and most mfg has their own skinned player, but naked android??? cant figure it out.
2) how do i delete photos from "gallery" autobackup album?
3) is there a app to import profile pics to contacts from G+ (even if they are not in your circle). I had luck with a FB importer called sync.me
4) whats a good flash light app that doesnt require launching the app to activate. ie: activate with 3taps of the volume key.
5) can some explain to me hangouts. someone said its like imessage but i dont get it yet. imessage was based on phone# or email. hangouts if i am understanding is tied to your circles (of which i have 0). please correct me if i have it wrong.
6) is there a way to see notifications on the lock screen with a swipe down. (i have a pin enabled). - i dont like unlocking to see the notifications.
1) Google play music or any music player you get on the play store will easily play any music. For Android, there is no itunes (duh) , so either download music and have it on googles cloud services, or you can drag and drop the mp3 files into your phone.
2) Well if these photos are from your google account/gmail , heres what you can do first go to settings -> Google -> under accounts select the gmail -> uncheck Google Photos or Google+ photos. Then from your homescreen, hit the app drawer, press and hold gallery, drag it to the top where it says app info. Then press clear all data and clear all cache (this doesnt delete any photos, so it wont cause any harm). By doing this you won't have the auto synced photos anymore.
4) theres plent of flashlight apps that all do the same. just search up flashlight on playstore and the first few results are your best bets.

1) Google Play music comes with your phone and its awesome. You can use it as a subscription for unlimited streaming or upload your own music and stream it (or DL onto the device).
2) Go to settings>apps>all>gallery>delete cache and app data (you'll also want to go to settings>accounts>google account>uncheck the photo account stuff from there.
3)Unsure, try going to G+ app and having it sync contacts
4)I use smart tools...it has a bunch of tools in it and also includes a flashlight "widget". To add a widget, go to your app drawer, press widgets at the top and drag and drop the widget onto your home screen.
5) Hangouts is just a central location or Google hangouts and SMS. You can hangout with your friends if they also have hangouts or you can SMS them normally.
6) I don't think you can swipe down when you have a PIN (defeats the purpose of the pin). Try Dashclock in the app store. It has some cool extensions and might be able to help.
Let us know if you need any more help!
Thanks everyone.

Let me choose which apps I can run on device

I am looking for possibility to run only:
- phone
- contact list
- chrome
- camera
- music player
on Android device. I want to check app first before I decide to give permission to run it. I want to run Phone app but I want to block SMS app and all other messaging apps.
How can I set it up ?
The purpose is to give the smartfone to the kid but with very limited options, so it's not using messaging and other chat apps , the only way of communication is just phone call but also I want her to have a Web Browser and phone Contact list, Camera and some Music apps so she can use it as a player anytime.
No distracting apps loaded with ads, no texting, no notifications.
Please help with the simplest solution for that.
Thank you
