I have the Box (online storage) app installed, but whenever I go to open an email (anything that would normally launch the Gmail app) I get the option to select weather to open Gmail or Box....I tic the box to always open Gmail, however every time I am always presented with those same two options.
Does anyone else have this issue?
thanks,
Mike
Assuming you are talking about Dropbox, i have it installed and havent seen any issues with being prompted for that instead of Gmail.
no box. 50 gigs of free online storage.
https://www.box.com/

EDIT: It used to be 50 gigs free...I have 50. now they must have dropped it down to 5.
I have Box with the 50GB (was a promotional offer) installed and no, I don't have this problem at all using the Gmail app for all of my email.
Not much help I know, but maybe you could clear user data for both and see if that helps.

The option "Enable uploading from other apps" in settings causes the problem you are describing.
The system also fails to recognize your default setting.
To remedy this for the mean time, disable that option.
1) Open Box
2) goto Settings
3) uncheck "Enable uploading from other apps"
the above worked for me.
not having said issue, i am loving my free 50GB for life on Box tho!
I have two questions:
1.When setting up synchronization of contacts in the Facebook app. I choose the option "sync with existing contacts" but show me all contacts. How I can hide these contacts?
2. I've got an app called market downloader, both hogging my data, and I can't uninstall it. Onavo is installed and tells me it is hogging data and the other app with the same problem is TwettCaster because in less than 3 hours grabbed 690MB. I think it could be some problem with the rom, I need your help please.
Please help me
Regards and I hope your answers
I'm trying to free up internal storage space on my Galaxy S4. Using ES Explorer, I found that the phone contains 9830 document files of various types! I find it hard to determine which files are associated with specific apps. Does anyone know of an easy method to determine which files I might delete.

I would not start deleting files I don't know about. Delete the ones you know for sure what they are for and you know that you don't need them.
For example, some old pictures (assuming you have a backup). Maybe some old downloads and some music.

Oh yeah, I'm very wary of just deleting files without knowing their association. Have moved pictures & sound files that can be moved. It's just going to take a lot of time.

Deleting a few dozens of large files will get you more space, than deleting thousands of small ones. And also deleting one small file could lead into some unexpected behavior of some app you would not notice now, but later.
That's why it's easier and safer to start with file you know you created and large enough to see benefits right away.
Most of those documents are app documentation. Best not touch them.
There are, however, a few other things to try that are usually overlooked when clearing up space.
- Delete the .thumbnails folder in DCIM. (You'll need to enable hidden files in file explorer to see it.) This stores a thumbnail of every image on your device and SDcard, deleted or not. Usually amounts to 6-7GB...
- Dial *#9900# and select 'Delete dumpstate/logcat' in the menu that appears. Those can amount to 2-3GB.
- Delete the Cache for the Browsers, Facebook, Maps, Instagram, Youtube, Maps etc. The Cache often isn't counted in the Total App Storage, so you can't see it. Go to Settings> Application Manager > All, click on the app and hit Clear Cache. (Clearing data deletes your profile and resets the app; the cache is just temporary files.)
- Clear the Google Play Services data. Go to Settings > Application Manager > Google Play Services. Click on Manage Space. Hit Clear All Data. Contrary to the warning message, this does not affect your account, Gmail, calendar or contacts.
- Clear the Cache of the phone. Boot into Recovery and select Wipe Cache Partition. This is just temporary files, no actual app or data is affected.
- Go to Settings > Storage. Tap on Cached Data. This'll open the Delete option. (Mine just now was 1.8GB... ). Might give a Security Policy error and appear to do nothing, give it a minute. You can also hit Used Space to see what uses the most space, and hit Miscellaneous Files to see the separate folders that use up space. Select the ones you know for certain are useless (Old apps, for instance) and tap on the bin icon to delete. (Thumbnails was listed here for me as well.)
That should clear up a few gigabytes.
P.s. This'll list Google Play Services, Package Helper and some other processes in your Battery usage as high usage for a minute or two. That's normal. The apps have to actually work for a change

Excellent tips. I seem to remember seeing a few of these before.

I saw couple of videos on Youtube about Realme 2 pro and they were able to search the contacts (along with apps and messages) when they swiped down from any of the screen. Unfortunately am not able to search contacts. App and messages search works fine. I checked the search settings also and all three searches are turned on (Settings > Additional Settings > Search).
Is it working fine for everyone here? Anyone knows what could be the problem?
Solution
Settings > Application Management > click show system processes > go to "Search" App. Give this app permissions to view contacts . You should be good

I checked and Search already has permission to view contacts but still it's not working
Hello everyone,
I just read today over the internet that whatsapp has finally released its "Unlock with Finger Print Feature" on the beta version 2.19.221.
Post reading this i quickly jumped to my play store and checked my whatspp version as I was already enrolled as a beta tester.
But with no luck as may others, even being on the same version I didn't found the option in my whatsaap privacy settings.
Ya i also tried sideloading the apk from three different sources, but no luck.
Then, i had only one choice i.e to make my own luck.
Follow the below process(this is what i did).
Prerequisites:
1) Whatsapp 2.19.221 beta apk.(get it from apkmirror)
2) A decent VPN app that will let u connect to UK. ( i use tunnel bear from play store)
3) An additional gmail id that u might have lying arround. (note: make sure whatsaap has never been installed from this gmail id from play store)
Lets begin:
1)Clear cache and data of play store and whatapp from your phone(don't just simply uninstall whatsapp) Clear cache and data is mandatory.(also backup ur chats and data beforehand)
2) connect to UK server using VPN.
3) Login play store with the fresh gmail ID that u might have and accept the play store policy request popup.
4) close down play store and remove from recents.
5) Install the whatsapp 2.19.221 apk that u previously downloaded from play store.
6)Follow the whatsapp setup process as usual. ( no need to change your country in whatsapp.... as for me it was India so i kept it that way and used my regular whatsapp number that i have my whatsapp on..It will take some time to get the OTP as ur on a VPN connection...for me its took around 2min)
7)After the setup headover to the three dotted menu in whatsapp--->Settings--->Account--->Privacy--->at the very bottom U should have the Option named "Fingerprint Lock"
Have a good day.
