Hi I purchased a new phone from amazon n my phone has some issue.. flash light automatically on and music also starts playing when phone is kept at one place.
Disable gestures in settings/gestures and you'll be fine.
Yes, some of the screen-off gestures are way too sensitive.
double-tap to wake seems to work fine, but flashlight and music constantly activate in my pocket, etc.
Really drives me nuts, especially because I don't have any of the other touchscreen issues people seem to have sometimes.

I'm wondering if this is because of my device (HTC Titan) or because of WM6... all I know is that I never had this happen before!
Basically, I'll pull out my phone sometimes and find that its turned on by itself, and has been sitting with the dim idle backlight on.
I noticed it can be caused by several things but the 2 main ones I've seen is:
1) when the phone switches to/from roaming, it wakes up
2) when using A2DP controls (AVRCP), it wakes up.
I've been using workarounds to keep the backlight off for now (set the phone to roam only, or carrier-only, so it won't be switching in/out of roam, and use core player or just remember to toggle the screen off everytime I use a media AVRCP control), but there has got to be a better way to keep the darned screen off until I press power!
Anyone have any suggestions? This is really an unexpected annoyance as it eats up my battery quickly not knowing its on...
I had a similar issue with whenever I received an email and didnt shut off the device manually. What I eventually ended up doing was setting the device to automagically lock when it was powered off, and this seemed to solve the issue. I'm not sure however if this will fix it in your case because locking it may interfere with AVRCP controls working.
I was wondering if there was a way to suppress the phone from waking (screen turning on) when using Bluetooth/Headset controls.
I had this issue with CM7 on my old Droid Incredible, and now it's also happening with CM10 (nightly) on my S3. I know that the Stock firmware doesn't cause the phone to wake, just the CM series.
It's rather annoying to have your phone in your pocket, and you change tracks, and suddenly your touchscreen is going crazy 'cuz it's woken up in your pocket.
(Sorry if this has been discussed, but my forum searches hasn't revealed anything to me so far)

Face unlock currently requires a double tap, which is annoying because it doesn't work half the time
Even though they are trying to fix this in the next update, a better implementation would be when you raise the phone, it shows the lock screen (not ambient display screen), and simultaneously turns on the front camera to face unlock your phone
Gravity screen can do this, but requires a heavy wakelock to do so. Using the same 'raise to wake' method as ambient display [which seems to work without a heavy wakelock], but then showing the lock screen instead of ambient display, should achieve this
I would LOVE this feature, it would be a complete game changer!!
I use gravity screen and don't lose much battery
Use the power button since it's more reliable anyways ?

There's still a fair amount of battery loss. Oneplus raise to wake seems to be able to do the same action without any battery loss
This was so fine on Op5 and 5T. Open Beta, of course!
Update: I've installed the wave up app. It basically wakes the phone when proximity sensor is uncovered
So when I take the phone out of my pocket, it authenticates my face automatically and unlocks, in a split second. I don't need to touch anything
Similarly if I keep my phone face down on a desk (not ideal), when I flip it over to look at it, it unlocks.
No messing around with d2tw which is more like quadruple tap to wake since this functionality is broken

Hi i use the original flip case from OP and as soon as i open my case door it unlocks witch is very easy and convenient.
Shall check with tasker.
Update: could not succeed.
I face no trouble in dt2w it wakes as it's intended to and unlocks with face within a split second, face unlock has become slower since the 5.1.9 and in dp3 but still fast enough
If my hand is dirty i just say Hey or Ok google.

I finally picked up a U12 after Amazon had a 20% off sale on Warehouse Deals versions. It was basically new and I initially liked it. However, I'm likely returning it because the Motion launch gestures are extremely unreliable, especially when taking it out of my pocket. It seems that the proximity sensor doesn't immediately register that it's not in a pocket anymore. That, or it has to be more forcefully lifted UP, like you must do to activate the Ambient Display. I tried this with the Ambient display in both "always on" mode and "lift to check" mode. Same results. A majority of the time, I take my phone out of my pocket and go to double-tap on the screen and nothing happens. If I keep doing it, it works after a while. If I leave it lying on a table, it will pretty much always work, which is why I think it's a proximity/light sensor issue.
I have experienced this behavior before with other phones with double-tap-to-wake. In fact, LG and OnePlus seem to be the only ones that are 100% reliable for me.
Before anyone suggests it, NO, fingerprint wake-up is not an option. I interact with my lockscreen notifications almost exclusively throughout the day. I just want the screen to turn on when I tap on it twice, like it's supposed to and that's not happening. I also don't use power buttons. At all. I use my phone left-handed anyway, so that's not ideal. I'm not looking for a suggested work-around. I'm just seeing if anyone else experiences this and/or if there's something I'm missing. The phone is great otherwise, but this is a huge deal-breaker for me.

from my P6P I was used to being able to navigate my smartphone whilst making a call over the speakers or listening to a voice message over whatsapp.
Now, when doing this, my 7P will again and again shut off the screen because the sensor is triggered. This seens really out of proportion, since it happens far down and only on the left site (i attached an image with the blue trigger zone).
Is this sth you experience as well and can check for me?

I was also experiencing this annoying issue. It was driving me crazy.
Was able to find a fix though: activate Developers Options and open it. Look for Quick Settings Developers Tiles menu and tap to it. Then tap to Sensors Off to enable it. This will add Sensors Off tile in tiles list in the scroll down top menu of your phone. If you activate (tap on it) it will disable all sensors, proximity sensor included.
The changes will apply immediately so you can do this whilst on phone/video calls and then enable it back after the call. Works like a charm.
Whilst its tempting to leave it disabled all the time, I won't recommend it as it disables all the sensors, for example, automatic screen brightness sensor or auto rotate sensor, so not very convenient.
Yeah, the cut off point is pretty early. I'd recommend using one handed mode to reach for the top of the screen or just trigger speakerphone.

Nice find and it may help some people some of the time. However, would it not be better to just turn on Screen Attention? YMMV

I had that same issue on the P6P and the P7P. It's annoying
