Hi, I'm on a .77 firmware and I need to go back to .93 (previous update in october). However, I do not want to unlock my bootloader as I will loose my DRM keys.
Is this possible to flash back to .77 on a locked boot loader?
Thanks

Not that easy.
I know that there is a way to unlock and then relock the bootloader, like decribed here: [ALL-IN-ONE][HOW-TO][D5803] Bootloader Unlock/Relock/Flash firmware/CWM Recovery/Root (Keep in mind that it's originally for the Z3 compact).
Usually you need an unlocked bootloader to flash a new firmware.
If you register on xda, you can ask in the Sony Xperia Z3 Help and Troubleshooting forum to get better answers from users having the same device like you.

Just download the respective firmware and flash it via Flashtool.
You won't lose the drm keys.

1. So no problem if 4.4.4 (.93) is rooted?
2. If it's OK. Any chance to root Lollipop like i rooted
.93? (Giefroot method)
Thanks
No you can't root 5.0.2 with that method.
If you want to retain root, the only way is to flash pre-rooted zip via NUT's dual recovery.
I must unlock the bootloader to do that?
No you do not.
But you must ask questions in the question and answer section.

Hi guys,
My girlfriend has a Xperia Z3, currently not rooted, bootloader is locked, no custom recovery and running Kitkat. I'm planning on rooting her phone for her install TWRP just to make a backup of the ROM, then I will update it to Lollipop right after.
I want to keep the bootloader locked because from what I've read, unlocking bootloader wipes the DRM keys or something, which apparently affects camera and even battery life for some people. I know I can back up the TA partition but that doesn't fix the fact that the camera will be affected somehow. I just don't want to take the risk and deal with the possibility.
So how would I root and install TWRP on a locked bootloader Xperia Z3 running Lollipop? I haven't seen any topics or guides on this, most are for phones with UNLOCKED bootloader so it's not really helping...
Read the Guide in the general section for rooting a locked bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
You haven't researched much i see..
If you have 23.0.A.2.93 version, all you need is to Root, install TWRP, then FLASH a pre-rooted Lollipop rom.
I've read that guide already and I don't see any pre-rooted LP roms for either New Zealand or Taiwan. I know it probably won't matter, but for phones like Samsung Galaxy S5, we have CSC codes which basically gives you access to certain apps or options depending on the country of the ROM. If possible, I'd like to update to Lollipop from the official OTA and then root it from there.
Also, I'm on a newer KK firmware, which means I'll need to downgrade in order to get root. But doing that also means I lose all the contents on the phone, which I want to backup first using Titanium Backup. I understand there's a sacrifice here but I'm a bit confused as to why we couldn't just flash recovery using fastboot (like most other phones do) and then install SuperSU from TWRP? Or is the downgrade necessarily in order for us to achieve root via an unpatched exploit?
UPDATE:
Forgot to mention one major issue, my girlfriend's Z3 is D6653. The 23.0.A.2.93 firmware for D6653 is for T-MOBILE, but my girlfriend's phone is an international variant so I'm not sure it's compatible.
you know you can flash a rom with flashtool and not have it wipe the data?
Hi
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633)
Android Lollipop 6.0.1 Build 23.5.A.0.570 ( Original-Stock firmware )
Locked bootloader
I want to root it without flashing any new firmware, and without unlocking the bootloader
Just Rooting
If someone can make a video explaining, I'm using the translate BR .
thanks
For now, there is no known way to root this firmware w/o unlocking bootloader. Best way to obtain root is to downgrade to KK, get Root and recovery, and then flash pre-rooted MM firmware. Here is very good tutorial for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056.
Also, I don't recommend to unlock the bootloader. bacause you'll get almoust only downsides.
Hey!
How can I root my Z5 which has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER. I don`t want to unlock the phone, did that with my Z2 and wasn`t worth it until the final Android Version has arrived.
Specs:
Z5 E6653
32.2.A.0.305 / R9C STOCK
Locked Bootloader
No Recovery
you only can get not full function root with LB, but you can use it to backup your TA.img, then you can unlock your BL, when you want drm back, you just restore them
