[App] Jdownloader development Discussion - Other Tools & General Discussion

We are seeing increasing number of file hosting app for android. Jdownloader open source development supported many file hosting websites under one roof. Its based on java so platform independent.
Jdownloader also included auto captcha recognition and multi threading, resume etc
It devoids unnecessary advertisements by directly redirecting to actual file location. (Just like AppRedirect app)
Instead of 10 file hosting apps like Mega, Google drive etc that costs me 100 MB memory in my little device can we have one app for all file hosters?
Is it possible to port jdownloader to android?
Of late jdownloader also did not work for me in windows due to their upgrades. The nearest possible equivalent is IDM but it does not bypass advertising and captcha.
Note:
Sorry many of my threads look plain because am using XDA free app. I see no options to highlight certain portions. Request your views on thread subject.

Why not release distro´s over bittorrent??

I have some issues with thease download pages that eather cap the bandwith or require "premium" pay accounts, and almost all of thease download sites requires the user to wait for 30-70 seconds before proceding..
so i wonder, why arent we using bittorrent as medium??
i suggest that we change this, add a download section here on xda to host a bittorrent browser/search that links with the release thread corresponding with the individual distro´s.
The management part could be configured to work similarely as image upload/link thats regularely used on the forums.
As i understood the bittorrent technology, we wont even need a tracker, just a storage space for the torrent files.

"Block This" - Looking for Devs to help in improving the app

Hi guys! I'll try to keep it short. I've developed an app called "Block This" for Android. It's essentially an ad blocker based on VPN/DNS. I manage my own DNS servers + the development of the Android app.
I'm not gonna lie, there's a lot of bugs arising and basically no money involved as the app is currently FREE to use. I do think its a great app though, and I want to see it grow and spread over other systems like iOS & Windows with time. The app currently has about 50 000 active users (they were a lot more but the app got removed from the Play Store so distribution is harder now).
With this thread I basically want to check whether people would be interesting in devoting some time and helping me on this project if I decide to open source it.
If you are a dev and think this could be an interesting side project for you please drop in a few works down below. Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Sava Georgiev

I have been using the app for a few weeks now.
This is a good app that has some promise. It works well against several of the well known ad SDKs. Especially if you are using the free version of TuneIn. I've not had time to test it fully, but so far, I like it. It could also be developed into a no-root firewall app. That could help it get back into playstore. But going open source, it would be a good fit for f-droid. And of course, here at XDA.
Looks like a good application. I have not tried it yet. But will try on my phone ( Note 2 - Cyanogenmod 12 )
New information ! The developer has now taken the project Open Source. Here is the link : https://github.com/ggsava/block-this
On my xt897 running CM12.1, my battery lasts soooooooooo much longer with this app.:good:
Great app @ggsava, I'm using this app on my non rooted galaxy note 7 and so far so good.

It is as safe and secure as possible - those are things I care about the most personally as well. You are however right, currently there are only servers available in France, but I'm starting to rework the back-end soon and will start adding more power to the DNS servers, making them available closer to people's locations. The plan is to have a couple of servers across Europe, NA and Asia in order to ensure maximum speed.
Looking good, Will try this app

[APPS][ONLY FOR ANDROID DEVELOPERS] -PromoApp - Promote your android app

Greeting XDAers,
Before any one comment suspicious or spam i want to share a bit history why i come up with this idea.
Last year i have published an app called musific based on multiple open source app which is available on play store.
So as a new/individual/broke developer with no money to advertise ? when i start to promote my app on social media's like fb, reddit, xda etc. I've found that there are so many groups with thousands of users but there is no centralised platform where every one can just connect and help each other by reviewing and downloading each other app.
So i started to make an app called promoApp which can be used as an centralised platform by developers :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nsdeveloper.apppromotion
Developer just have to register their apps on promoApp, rest of the details are available on play store.
Please have a look and share it if you like.
Thanks.

[APP][4.0+]OVO Web - Offline Website Builder

In developing countries one of the main problems aspiring web developers might face is the high cost of purchasing a laptop and getting a stable internet connection also in developed countries, lack of cell signals in the subway can pose a problem when you want to quickly edit a website(as a freelancer) as most website builders are online (wix, boomer, wordpress etc).
With OVO Web this can now be done offline and in the palm of your hands. This app attempts to edit website templates in a process I call "touch and edit" where HTML elements are clicked (on the rendered template) and their css properties/HTML contents are edited. Edited template can be published to local drive folder, ftp server or github pages .The app also comes bundled with free responsive template to get you started.
Do share your thoughts, complaints, bugs, and ways to make the app better

Thanks MrRiko, we are a team of android developers, currently focused on improving the app(fixing bugs) and adding more features so we can't give SEO tips. If you however wanna convert your website to an android native mobile app then we can help you

Suggest a mobile app development framework for new app

Hello all,
I am planning for developing a new mobile app and need suggestion on which mobile app development framework would be best for this use case.
A mobile app that works like a folder/organizer which is initially empty.
A user can import files into it.
Each file when imported results in a single page.
This page can have a mix of items on it. E.g images, texts, links, embedded javascripts, Google maps, etc.
Let's say this is an organiser for greeting cards.
So, if a user has imported 10 files (1 for each greeting card), then user can flip through these cards within the organiser.
Organize them by tagging each of them.
Share them with others
search using some texts.
Would Flutter be suitable for this requirement?
Thanks in advance.
