Hi people... can someone tell me if this dock is compatible with the note 4?
very tnks
ciao
How about a link or specs or something
BAD ASS NOTE 4 + BAD ASS GEAR S
If this is the one http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/...ories/EDD-S20EWEGSTD?subsubtype=desktop-docks the easy answer is no. I have one and the usb otg will work but only if you restart with the handset in the dock also the otg will not work if the hdmi is hooked up. apparently it has something to do with 4.4 and higher not sure what as I am still trying to figure it out
I have this dock, 3.5 output isn't working with Note 4.

Hi, i have finally found my hdmi cable today will test both devices today after work and post results. Sorry for the delay.
HDMI didn't work with Note 2 (5.0.2) and Note 4

Strange Today I bought the samsung game pack with this docking and with my notes 4 works, has a bit of lag but it all works
I have one of those smart docks for Note 2. Hdmi works with audio. Usb ports work with mouse, keyboard, external hard drive. I didnt test 3.5mm sound out. It does very good job scaling from 2k to 1080p
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
It works but there is a little lag on TV that makes it impossible to use it to play

I'm wondering if anyone who is successfully using the hdmi out on their charge can post links to the exact cable you're using. I ordered a hdmi to micro adapter that isn't working for me even after kejar's fix (1.5). I have read it could be the type of hdmi cable I put the adapter on so I'm wanting to know what products are working for you guys

Its more then likely the adapter causing the problem. I tried that on my X and no dice. So for the heck of it I tried it on my Charge when I got it and no dice either. That said when I had my X I bought an actual micro HMDI cable and it works fine on both devices now.
I used this one with my Evo & it works fine with the Charge as well. Less than $3 too.

I purchased a microUSB to HDMI MHL adapter but can't seem to get it working. I'm running Valhalla Black with the Anthrax kernel. I've turned TV Out on in settings and set NTSC as default. The phone recognizes that I plugged in the adapter and comes up with the screen but no output to the TV. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Well the microUSB TO HDMI seems to be recognized by the phone but I can't get anything to display to save my life. Tried different HDMI cables and power cables. I pulled out an 1/8 to RGB output and was able to get video through that but the quality is horrendous. Has anyone tried to get the MHL adapters to work at all?
I don't think I've ever seen anything about anyone trying this on our phone before. We don't have tv out working for ics yet so I think mhl is a bridge too far. But then again I don't know crap. Maybe somebody with some knowledge could clear this up

The onlky TV adapter I've seen for the phone is a headphone style one that goes to RCA style plugs on a TV. Never saw a HDMI one.
These are the ones on EBay for our phones.

Also, AFAIK, tv out works on most ICS builds but the rotate of the devices doesn't transfer to the screen. Just read the notes for the releases. Ones like CM9 state TV-out is working.
The only TV out for this phone is a PL 3.5 earphone style to composite RCA yellow red white style. The MHL will work for SGS2 and above.
sent from me
And with the rca cables you only use the red and white connectors. I believe it is red for audio and white for video.
I don't even think my tv has composit
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Oddly enough when I plug this adapter into the phone it seems to recognize it and go to a vertical screen with the time, date, alarm, picture slideshow, music player, and go back to home screen. It only does this when I plug in the MHL adapter, not the 1/8 to RCA cable.
It thinks it's a dock?

If tv out works for you with that configuration... great. It has never worked that way for me. And by all means I am sure we all know what and where the colors go considering most components they are used with are labeled and color coded.
Yup, the best bet is to try all colors on your tv's yellow input.

Got it from ebay for like $6. The one I have is an MHL microUSB to HDMI adapter for a Galaxy S II (SGH-T989). Also make sure it has a power input, from what I read the HDMI needs the power to function. I'm contimplating diving into the SGH-T989 code and see if there is something in there that enables this or if it is hardware drivin. Samsung actually released a $50 cable for our phones that was supposed to do this so I have a feeling it is possible...
Does anyone have any suggestions. I would like to hook my 6P to a Chord Mojo
Did you find anything which does this?
Can I ask a question: I'm looking at getting a Chord Mojo too but sometimes I just want to listen to Spotify - I'm pretty sure it'll work, but can you confirm?

Unless you're a premium spotify user, using an expensive DAC for low quality music is not ideal.

Yeah - no way I want to listen to low quality music (or ads) through a nice amp/dac and some pretty nice IEMs

and i found this little bad boy

would this cable work for galaxy note 7 ? if not, is there any cable that i can transfer to othr screen via hdmi? let me know thanks!
I bought this and no dice. Usb works but no hdmi. Also it won't charge and use USB at the same time. Luckily wireless charging still works.
No MHL on the note 7. Samsung dropped it in favor of miracast / screen cast. Luckily though a Chromecast will do the trick for 35$. Aside from that you could get a miracast dongle. Haven't used those yet so i cant speak on how well they work.

well i've been using smart view to connect note 7 via miracast, but it lags compare to wired connection. same with chromecast also. it connects fine, but lag is my main issue.
Weird.....im getting no lag. Movies play fine buffering from my phone using localcast app. Some MKV movies play a bit choppy but that's the codec I think.
It's a shame because 4x usb and hdmi on 1 adapter is awesome if it all worked. Also, the phone wont charge using it. I am able to wireless fast charge though.

You tried installing the displaylink software on your phone and trying again?
I think these docs are displaylink certified. I have one in my office i will give it a go
---------- Post added at 04:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ----------
I just tried it on the dell branded usbc one i have spare in my office with the display like app installed it doesnt work for the display on the note7
It works on the older one with my note3 though
Again. Note 7 dropped MHL. There is no physical link from gpu to the USB port if I'm reading correctly. I wish it wasn't so.
Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
Wasn't HDMI or display port (not sure which) part of USB-c specs? If so, Note 7 usb-c port is out of spec, we need some software, or maybe it's HDCP, I don't think Display Port is certified for HDCP content, at least not by MS.
playing video and music is perfectly fine, but i need to connect this to my head unit and emulate touch as well from head unit. when note 7 is connected via smartview, theres about 1 second delay and its really annoying. so i was looking for a wired option instead of miracast....

I am hoping for a USB-C DAC with Power Delivery passthrough, for car audio whilst charging. I did consider using a USB-C Power Delivery HUB, but it would have been a bit of a mess. So Bluetooth for now while I wait and hope.
Or if manufacturers have the imagination ..
a USB-C PD car charger with built in DAC
or
a USB-C PD car charger with built in USB HUB (That we can connect a DAC to)
Unfortunately manufacturers seem confused about USB-C but it does open up some interesting possibilities

I am using http://hifimediy.com/DACs/ready-made-dacs/Sabre-9018-Type-C-DAC with my Pixel-XL. It works well, but is about as noisy as the Nexus 6p with high efficient Balanced Armature IEMs. Its only noticeable on really quiet tracks in a super quiet room. It works well with my Sennheiser HD 595s and Beyerdynamic DT 990 250 ohm and 600 ohm.
I only wish it had USB-C PD pass-through so that I could charge and listen at the same time.

Does the Dragonfly work without the anker dongle by just using the small dongle supplied with the Pixel?
Dragonfly only works for me with a USB audio player pro as the media player to make it work.
My FiiO does not work. Exact same setup works on Nexus 6P however.
Not sure what the issue is. Tried two different USB-C to USB-B adapters, neither work.
FiiO powers on, but just basically static noises.
Yes there seems to be a problem without the special media player to drive the devices. I was surprised my Dragonfly didn't work after kirdroid indicated that his is working without a USB audio player.
