[Q] Lumia 1020 connectivity issues (bt/wifi/plane mode) - Nokia Lumia 1020

Hello there.
I am facing a problem which i think is caused from the bt.
Everything works fine (no battery drain, no heat, not lagging, no crashing apps, perfect voice quality etc) EXCEPT when i connect my bt headset(-s).
At first it works fine, make my calls, download emails browse everything. At some point (it could be 5 minutes it could be 5hrs) i am facing disconnections with the connected bt device. The phone may or may not show it is disconnected, it may or may not enable voice through bt (but i cannot hear anything). During the call i can toggle bluetooth and speak through the phone.
Here is the chain of events.
After this it drops the connection with the wifi and the menu stays at Searching mode (i left it in search mode for >5hrs with no luck discovering any wifi). If i disalble wireless or bt or enable/disable airplane mode the menu stays grey forever and with the dots in the upper screen keep coming and coming. Long story short i cannot toggle on/off any connectivity feature (only cellular data works under any circumstances), i have to either turn off and on the phone or soft reset it. I did two hard resets (one of them was clean state) but this behavior hasn't changed.
Also if i have only bt on and connected and i leave it overnight in the morning it shows about 10 - 15% battery and quiet hours are not auto disabled (also tried to turn Cortana Off) BUT if i plug it for FIVE minutes it goes back to 90-95%. and have normal battery consumption during the day.
The only thing i havent tried (and if i do i will do it only for testing reasons) is roll back back to WP8.0.
Am i facing a warranty issue or is it a glitch of the software (i am running Cyan)?

I got the exact same problem with my own L1020, have been fighting with support to have it fixed, they changed about everything (except the mainboard...) and the problem is still there.
I started to be really angry and got a free Lumia 930 in "replacement"... as I still got the L1020, I tried to put it under W10 preview, and it looks like the problem is really a software issue... with some builds, Bluetooth was working fine, with some the same problem appeared again...
I don't know if you found a solution in the meantime... if you did, I'd like to know what it was, because I like the 1020 better than the 930 (size and camera mostly) and I'd love to have it working with my MS Band

[Q] Enabling Wi-Fi Crashes HD7

My HD7 worked without issue from the beginning of the year til around a month ago.
All of a sudden, my WiFi became extremely unreliable, sometimes taking an overly long time to recognise or connect to an obvious access point, sometimes finding none at all.
After I do manage to connect wirelessly, I see no speed increase in data transfer to suggest that the phone is even using the wireless link. Web pages sometimes load slower than over 3G. I had read that HD7s have trouble using certain WiFi protocols and adjusted accordingly, but the workaround was to no avail.
Additionally, once WiFi has been selected, I cannot switch it off. I am 'locked out' of the WiFi settings page. When I tap it in the menu it responds as if I've nudged it but it cannot load. The only solution is to remove the battery. On occasion, this stuck WiFi has also caused the capacitive buttons, camera and power switch to become inactive. Curiously, touch screen function seems unaffected.
I thought maybe this issue was tied to corrupt settings with my hub, but changing SSID / WEP key etc etc on my router hasn't fixed the problem, and connection to other open WiFi signals jam the phone just as badly.
I upgraded to Mango in the hope that a fresh OS update may 'rejig' my wireless settings into working, but again, no joy.
Anyone experienced anything similar? My final options seem to be factory reset the handset to see if that solves the issue, or return the handset to O2. (Both involve losing all my data, game saves, application data AND the recently delisted SW: Battle for Hoth permanently.)
Anyone got any other thoughts?
*EDIT* After a bit more research, I found that even when the phone has connected to a WiFi source, by turning Operator Data Service off, you can see that the WiFi service is in fact not doing anything.
I braved a factory reset, managed to whack WiFi on no problem, browser ran at appropriate speed, then everything crashed as per usual, I couldn't connect to the marketplace and had to pull the battery in order to use any of the capacitive buttons. I guess it was a hardware issue individual to my phone after all.
Guess I'll give O2 a ring sometime soon to sort a replacement. Not looking forward to losing all my game progress though it has to be said.
bro i m having the same exact problem havent find any solution yet i even tried to copy and replace the wifi files from another clean htc hd7 but useless when i upgraded to 7740 the wifi worked perfectly for 1 night only then at the morning it stopped working, everything else works great. my theory says that its not a hardware problem cz i used internet sharing which uses the wifi adapter (if i m right) so its a software I GUESS

I had the same problem as well, couldn't connect, got to the point where even the power button stopped responding. Hard resets would only help for a short time and enabling WIFI would never connect right and eventually get me back to the same problem. I then got a replacement device, but it's not much better, I still can't connect to any WIFI, but at least it's not freezing up on me. My solution thus far has been just to avoid turning on WIFI if at all possible, but it's far from a perfect workaround. I'm guessing it's the HTC WIFI driver that's got issues.
i got similar problem.. send phone to service problem was "circut board"
replaced working fine...
when i was using wifi my phone was freezing some menus stop working and i have to remove battery

Keep Wi-Fi connected when locked with Skype

As a power saving method, Windows Phone puts a connected Wi-Fi connection on standby when the phone is locked for more than a minute, so when you unlock your WP, it attempts to reconnect. The phone automatically reconnects and disconnects while its locked to check for notifications like email every 5-10 minutes or so. This reconnection for many is hit or miss, sometimes requiring you to go into settings to manually connect to Wi-Fi again. The only way to keep Wi-Fi connected is to connect the phone to a PC or wall outlet to charge.
Now, for some reason, a couple of weeks ago, the Wi-Fi on my Lumia 900 stayed connected even if the phone remained locked for hours and to my surprise, it had a minimal effect on battery life, I barely noticed any significant drain. It was wonderful!
Yesterday, it stopped this seemingly miraculous behavior and went back to its default power saving ways. I retraced ALL my steps and cant seem to recall doing anything specific to enable/disable this "feature".
So I was wondering if any of you experienced anything similar?
UPDATE: Its not a miracle, Skype was keeping the Wi-Fi on!
Come to think of it, I did make a Skype call just for the sake of trying out the front facing camera quality over the network.

[Q] Wifi and post-call issue

Hi
I bought this phone 3 months ago and have been going through 2 major issues which have become a pain in the **s.
1) Most of the times, while making a call the screen freezes and the timer is stuck on 00:00, and the UI stops responding to any inputs, which means i cannot use In-Call features. If there's a need to make another call after the previous one then the phone needs to be locked and unlocked since the UI doesn't respond to anything without lock/unlock trick.
2) This one is more annoying and it's about Wi-Fi.
When I connect my phone to the wifi and leave it idle for say 5-10 minutes (provided there's no data being exchanged between the phone and router) and then try to open a website, it just doesn't open it with any browser and all other applications which require internet access stop working.
I have tried changing routers and even tried keeping my phone next to the router but the problem still remains. STAMINA mode is always disabled and "Keep wifi on during sleep" is set to "Always" and "WiFi optimisation" option is also unchecked. To make it more clear, the wifi icon is still displayed after idle time of 5-10 minutes on the top right corner with the uplink arrow lighted up and the downlink arrow not lighting at all.
Please reply if somebody else has the same problem and has any solution to it.
I am on stock ROM, with the latest official update 15.3.A.1.14, everything as it is.
Faced same issues for a while, after unlocking bootloader, rooting and installing a generic firmware(europe CE), issues are gone. Original firmware was with Vodafone branding and a lot of crapware.

[Q] Verizon Galaxy Note 10.1 Stuck in Half-Airplane Mode

I have been using tasker on my tablet for about 2 years now, and all of a sudden, for the last week or two, it has been acting differently. I have a tablet installed in the dash of my car and use tasker to turn off all radios (mobile network, wifi, bluetooth, etc..), turn off the screen, etc.. when the car turns off (no power), and then turn all of that stuff back on when the car starts (power). The problem is that all of a sudden, after a couple of on/offs of the car, if I use the airplane mode on/off, it gets stuck and I have to restart the device (basically, in the notification panel settings, the airplane mode is half lit up, like it is in the process of turning off/on). If I use the mobile network on/off, it will show that it is picking up the network, but I cannot connect to the internet (shows the bars are full, for instance, like it detects the network, but I can't access any data). Also, to go along with these two things, I used to, when leaving my car parked overnight, come back to maybe a couple percent loss of battery life... now, it is dropping significantly (probably 30+% or so each night).
Anyway, I have been searching around online for a while now and I cannot seem to find an answer anywhere. I installed a new SIM card from Verizon, have factory reset it, and nothing works. If I disable the cell data disconnect (either mobile network or airplane mode), when I come back, it shows the signal bars with a small "x" in it and no connection. Either way, only a restart fixes the connection.
Attached is a screenshot of my devices info if that helps as well as a picture of what the "half stuck" airplane mode looks like.
Any help/info is greatly appreciated... thank you!

Android 10 - wifi sleeping while screen locked

Hi guys!
I did a lot of googling and searching through XDA, but never found a solution for my problem, so I might as well try it here.
Recently I updated my Sony Xperia X Compact to AOSP 10. Now when I am connected to wifi (and it does NOT matter whether it is 2.4/5GHz or IPv4/IPv6, I tried everything) and my screen is locked, my system seems to put the wifi connection into some kind of battery saving mode. Notifications then will hardly come through. You can also see this in WhatsApp Web - every two minutes or so, "Phone not connected" will show up, and messages take up to 2 or 3 mins to get delivered. Then I can use Whatsapp Web normally for 30 secs, after which my phone seems to disconnect again. If I unlock my screen, WhatsApp Web will immediately (!) start working normally again, also missing notifications (e.g. Signal) will then come through.
While of course this might be a ROM bug, I am at least 100% sure it IS ROM-related, as I used exactly the same phone with exactly the same router without any problems while on Android 9 LineageOS.
Another interesting thing - if I charge my phone, during charging WhatsApp Web works completely without problems. The moment i UNPLUG the phone, wifi gets somewhat throttled agian.
Does anybody know a working solution for this? I do not have the option "Disable wifi sleep" or something similar - i believe Google has dropped this option somewhere around Pie.
Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there are kind of wifi energy saving options on some devices. But IDK if you can enable or disable wifi when phone is locked
