[Q] NFC always on? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
is there a possibillity to have NFC always on? (also when screen turned off?)
thanks
Daniel

I believe there is an xposed module called NFC LockScreenOff Enabler that does this. I'm not sure if it works with the OPO but you can give it a shot.

A few problems with 4.4 on Droid Ultra

I can't seem to get Tap & Pay to work, despite having it set up.
In a possibly unrelated note, I can't get Xposed to work at all. Once I get it all set up and do a reboot, com.android.systemui just spam crashes until I disable Xposed.

I don't have my phone handy, but I think I had to install a different version of Xposed for KitKat. I know that I definitely had to get a different version of GravityBox, and I had to remove MotoXposed entirely.
I'm on the first 4.4 soak. A couple issues I've found so far are:
1) "Wireless display" (miracast) performance is horrible. I've got the Netgear receiver and it works great with my laptop & Nexus 7, but is awful with my Droid Maxx.
2) USB OTG doesn't work anymore. I was able to sorta get it working by installing an app, but the app crashes after mounting/unmounting. StickMount does not work. (I forget which app I'm using right now.)

GPS issues in "hard places"

Hey,
I have a problem with my N5 (310K - problems of the first stocks ), in some places the GPS signal is lost or become very poor. I've already tried this guidewith no success, it probably solves the problem to people with no GPS lock at all - I unlike them have lock usually.
(by the way during the try to fix using this guide my NFC ceased to work)
What I need is an advice what can I do to fix my GPS?
I've been thinking about buying new battery cover - will this help?
*note that I'm running on stock [rooted] + xposed [gravity box and few more modules].

battery cover won't solve any issues
my advice is switch to clean stock ROM and then root if you want.

ok now I'm running on stock (on ART mode - might it be the cause?)
the good news: NFC is properly working again
bad news: I still experience GPS issues.
any ideas? I have been thinking on give the antenna some "strengthen" but its the last solution.

ART doesn't causes problem
but as you had mentioned above You have xposed module
it doesn't support it.
BTW does your location have good GPS signals??
And keep in mind GPS is not always 100% lock
75% ratio is normal.
Press thanks if I helped you.
^^
as I mentioned I'm running on stock + ART mode and still suffer from GPS issues, I have my brother's nexus 5 so I'm able to compare between the two (mine with the problem and his device)
any ideas?

NFC android bump... not working well.

Brand new OnePlus, unlocked and rooted. I am unable to get the Android share/bump to work with LG G3 or Samsung S4.
Have researched around quite a bit.
Have tried File Beam, so it will send a file (bluetooth), but will not receive.
Any known fix for this NFC bump bug? My searches have turned up nada.
Thanks.
Well, SuperBeam works, but still no direct luck with NC Beam, even OnePlus to Oneplus, seems to 'beam' the file, until at then end, says unsuccessful at the end. The NFC beam, though saying NFC, turns on the bluetooth on both OnePlus'es, and at the end of the beam, turns off the bluetooth. Just having the bluetooth on, despite the NFC Beam, does not change the success.
I like the SuperBeam success, but it is a menu selection/more user active process.
Any help to solve the simple NFC 'bump' would be appreciated.
We now have 3 OPO's. I can NFC from any of them to a G3, but not between the OPO's themselves!
Anyone with similar issues or it's working well for you?
Please, does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
I've tried nfc beam from opo to nexus 5 and it works OK. Don't have other devices to test though. Are you on stock ROM ? Did you try a clean wipe and reflash?
Yes, have tried full reset. All 3 phone on 44s. All rooted and all other systems working well.
what is odd is that I can NFC to other non-OPO phones. Just not to another OPO. I can Bluetooth bump share between them, it's just more cumbersome, and WI-fi bump share as well.
I think the NFC bump outta work straight forward. All three phone work great with other, non-OPO phones.
Is there anyway to track down this issue?
So what seems to happen is that with the NFC bump, with no bluetooth, the OPOs, with each other, fail the transfer. If I turn on bluetooth, and then NFC transfer, I am able to transfer.
OPO to other makes of phone, no need for bluetooth.
Is this all making any common sense about how this should/does operate?

Using NFC "Card Emulator" while screen is off

Hi everybody !
I'm the lucky owner of a OnePlus One rooted whith custom rom (Resurrection Remix Oreo 8.1 [latest build]) and I was wondering about some tricks to do with the NFC HCE built-in the OPO.
Where I Work, we use NFC cards (MiFare Classic 1K) to access different parts of the building, and i forget my card all the time at home. So I looked on the internet and stumble upon the Card Emulator app which can (if you're rooted) scan the UID of an NFC tag and write it in the HCE part of the NFC module in the OPO.
So I'm able through this method to use my phone while its screen is on and unlocked. Then I wanted to do so while the screen is off, that's why i installed Xposed and the NFC LockScreenOff Enabler module.
But it doesn't seem to work.
My question is, is there a way or an another to use this application while the phone screen is off ?
thanks !
I do not have an answer for your question, but thank you for mentioning this app, I have it now too

You're welcome. But keep in mind that this is only effective when the software that manages the NFC tag readers only use the UID to complete the authentification, which is not secured at all if you value my opinion... I hope that most of modern aunthentication system retailers don't rely anymore on such use of NFC tags.
Have you looked into Menu-Advanced-Xposed in this app?
There is an option Enable NFC when screen is off...
Haven't noticed it ! Will try ASAP. Thanks !

Wifi Tethering on Android 10 Oneplus Nord

Hello guys,
Everything in the app Tasker.
sadly the wifi tethering is not working via tasker, it worked perfectly on OP5 with Android 10 but now I am stucked. Nothing happens when a toggle is requested. System Access has been granted.
Do someone know a workaround? Because the toogle "off" for wifi tethering is working, only the toogle "on" is not working.
Does anyone know a tasker skript, where i dont have to turn on the display?
I'm using this workaround, where i have to put my phone out so the display can be activated:

Edit 02.03.2021:
Hello Guys, some new information.
I installed android 11 today on my oneplus nord (rooted), and now i can trigger Wifi-Tethering on with Tasker again.
Finally!
Also the App HOTSPOT AUTOMATIC (perfectly working on my OP7 PRO) doesn't turn ON hotspot, but it works only for turn OFF it.
Any ideas??
Maybe It will work in Android 11...so sad, that we don't find a workaround.
On the Nord the system is partly replaced with Google stock apps/settings, so maybe look at how this works on Pixel devices and try to mimic that?

Can confirm, Wifi Tether works on Nord 10, with android 11 update. No root needed! I will never update this phone ever, never ever. lol
