[Q] How to fix slimbean 4.3 Camera - Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500

I installed slimbean days ago and so far I have no issues its like more than half of the system's space is empty and its a very fast ROM but there is one problem with the camera it says "can not connect to the camera"
I though that if its slimbean so like all cm 10/10.2/10.2 mods are going to work and I was right I have even flashed some cm11 things and it works very good
so my equation is can any one please give a way to fix this thing and honestly I'm not planing to update to KK
and I have tried the cm10.2 camera fix but I ended with a bootloop

PA 2.99 ports?

Hey guys, I'm super curious to try out PA 2.99 with PIE controls but have yet to find anything.
I found one for the international version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727657
Has anyone heard of anyone attempting to port it?
Links? Google hasn't found me any results
Usually 99.9% of the time if its not here its not out there at all. Just remember don't flash anything from out of here

Just wait. Rohan is working on it. It will come to our device soon.

Like I posted before, I have a PA 2.99 4.2.1 build booting on our device. Everything is functional except the SDCard is not mounting.
The issue would normally not be present if this was 4.1.X since back then, PA was CM based, so the CM tree worked without issue. However now they have moved to a pure AOSP base so it makes it really hard to get our device up and running. It requires extensive modifications and many of things was not working before. I've fixed everything so far besides SDCard mounting. Sit tight.
And when Rohan says something is gonna get done, something is gonna get done.
Looks like PA 3.0 came out a couple hours ago!

[Q] Constant reboots on latest nightlies

Guys, am I the only one getting constant reboots on the latest nightlies? I load up a nightly (have tried 3/17, 3/19, 3/23 so far) and I clear data cache and dalvik prior and post load. I also load the newest 4.2.2 gapps for jb.
The phone reboots itself on everything from Temple Run to basic browsing to music playing through Bluetooth. There seems to be no rhyme, reason, or specific app causing it.
I am using the built in kernel... Is this kernel instability I am seeing?
Please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this. I am a big fan of cyanogenmod, have used it on many phones over the years but this has been very unreliable for me.
Thanks, Brian
Did you try to fix permission using cwm or ROM manager? That might help. if not, try aokp 4.2.2 or liquid smooth.

Ok so I fixed permissions on 3/23 cyanogenmod nightly, still constant reboots. Then I flashed aokp (hilbert) newest nightly based on 3.0.68 kernel and I am getting the same problem.
Is there any other way to troubleshoot this? Can someone else speak up who is running the newest night lies without FCs or reboots so I know I'm not crazy.?
Thanks for your IMs as well... I will definitely try newer builds.

I didn't get constant reboots but I did get random reboots from time to time.
I also noticed the latest nightly I ran (3/23) seems very slow.
My fix was to restore my backup of CleanRom and I may just not return to CM 10.1.
Lockups and random reboots have been discussed for the last few pages in both the thread in this section and the dev section, commonly seems to have started 3/18 nightly when they switched over to the 3.4 kernel..newest nightlies were supposed to have some fixes merged but I haven't tried it yet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071252&page=124
personally had the issue on both 3/20, 3/21 , rolled back to the last nightly on the old kernel which is 3/17 and haven't had it happen since as for AOKP I don't use that so couldn't tell you what the issue is with that ROM

My thought is that in my case there may be something else going on. So far I have tried Cyanogenmod 3/17,3/20 and 3/23 nightly, a 3/23 nightly for AOKP, and now I just installed CleanROM 6.2 R2, which is Android 4.1.2 based. I think most of these kernels are 3.0.x based. I am definitely still getting occasional reboots and FCs but I will say it seems CleanROM is the most stable.
The common thread on all of these builds seems to be that the most instability occurs when attempting to connect to a bluetooth device. That is when I get the constant reboots. I'm talking like you start to play a song, and it gets through half way and just completely reboots itself.
I'm going to keep trying here, but I might have found the common thread in bluetooth instability.
Does the 3.4 kernel report as 3.4.x on the newer nightlies?
Yes it shows in the settings, I personally haven't had any issues with connecting or using my A2DP rocketfish Bluetooth headset even when I was on the newer nightlies with the 3.4 kernel, it was more of hadn't used the phone for a while went to turn the screen on and it wouldn't come back had to battery pull.
Haven't had a single problem since rolling back lockup or otherwise so I'm watching the main threads to hear when they get the issues with the kernel figured out before flashing anything newer

[SOLVED] Galaxy S3 Camera Not working (OLD problems no fix)

hello, i love my galaxy s3 and even more because i took the leap and rotted and I am running on roms. My favorite rom is cyanogenmod but I have never gotten the camera to work on it with anything greater than cm10.0. I am currently running AOKP which allows the camera to work which is awesome too but i would love to go back to CM. I have searched for hours but never found a solution that worked. I tried flashing a file that some around this forum and other forums have said fixed the CM camera issue but that did not help. If anyone know of a fix so i could use CM10.1 or CM 10.2 I would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Have you tried a clean install of CM 10.2? I haven't had any issues with my camera running any custom rom.
Does it work at all, or are you just missing some feature?

I have not tried a clean install. I will try that when I get a chance. The camera sometime opens and I can zoom in and out a few seconds but then it freezes and the phone restarted. Also, other times the camera open to a black screen and freezes and the phone restarts. It really sucks This is the only issue I am having with CM and why I switched to another rom.
Doing a clean install fixed the problem. Thank you so much for your help. I would like to mark this thread as SOLVED but i do not know how. Hopefully an admin can do this.

ROM Suggestion

OK,
So I have tried the Cyan and Omni ROM's.
I must have done something wrong with Cyan as Google Mail kept crashing during initial setup.
Omni has been working fine and seems solid.
So far I have only tried CM11 and Omni 4.4.2
I just want a fast yet stable ROM.
While the two I have tried do fit that bill I'm just wondering what the other options are.
I am a newbie to all this and have been using TWRP to flash the ROM's so it's been pretty simple so far.
Any input is welcome but as a newbie hopefully something similar or as simple to what I've been doing would be best (don't want to brick this thing TF300T)
Thank!

CROM1-x is usually both fast and stable, Android 4.2.2. I think you may have misflashed the gapps with the gmail crashes though, becuase I'm not getting those with CM11.

Fast custom ROM with android 4.2.2

I am looking for a custom ROM for my Samsung Galaxy S II Plus (GT-I9105P) which is faster than the stock ROM.
I installed Liquidsmooth 3.0 and tested the speed and its working perfectly now. Its based on Android version 4.4.3. But the camera app is actually really bad; the pictures are always blurry. I guess something is wrong with the focus, because it works fine with the original 4.2.2 Samsung Camera App. I found out that I can't restore the app because Liquidsmooth (Andoid 4.4.3) doesn't support Touchwiz Apps.
Even the apps from the PlayStore are not as good as the old SamsungCamera App.
So here's my question: Is there a fast custom ROM (preferred a popular like LiquidSmooth) which is baised on 4.2.2? Or are there others who have also problems with blurry pictures in 4.4.3 and have a fix?
CWM 10.1.3 has a lot of bugs, like no vibration, so I don't want this ROM. LiquidSmooth 2.3 is baised on Andoird 4.2.2 but there is no Download Link for the SGS II Plus / doesn't supported? Or does the Phone model even matter?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!!

Try lollipop rom... In my opinion has much better camera than kitkat. The only iconvenience is that still don't have the option to sd and don't have pause on camcorder yet

But isn't cwm a Rom created for more personalizing and not for increasing speed? I am worried that it's still slow or is it the speed compared to liquidsmooth?
Lollipop ROM runs on ART runtime, it's much more effective than Dalvik-based.
So far 2 weeks of use no lag at all, back when I was using Paranoid Android 4.6 or CM11 M12, there were some lag sometimes.
Battery life is more awesome than before. In previous ROMs, I don't use GPS and ended up like 30% battery by the end of the day.
With Lollipop, I use GPS 24/7 and ended up 30% battery by the end of the day too.

So I uses ART to speed up the system but the apps are bigger... Am I right? Is there the option to move some of the apps to the SD card?

Sort of, I don't think there is an option for now for our device. Perhaps in the future.

ClockworkMod recovery with SELinux support
Hey guys,
so I was trying to install the ROM but I got a "Status 7" Error which is caused by not having the SELinux support.
I was looking for the file for about an hour but I can't find it.
My CWM-based Recovery has the version 6.0.4.5.

So the rom is great and the battery lasts so much longer but there are still some bugs. Its so great having the latest Android version on this "old" phone! But does any of you also have the problem that after every reboot, some of the app icons are missing/deleted?

There is liquid smooth 3.2 (4.4.4) fyi,. you could try the new google camera from the play store. There are other kitkat roms that are also excellent(sprit, axxion,PAC,PA) should you think Lolipop is too buggy, but you cannot installed touchwiz apps on a custom rom, regardless of android version.

Okay thanks a lot for your answer. I decided to update to Cm12 with Android 5. It's pretty good so far and the developers bring new updates very quickly.
