ROM Suggestion - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK,
So I have tried the Cyan and Omni ROM's.
I must have done something wrong with Cyan as Google Mail kept crashing during initial setup.
Omni has been working fine and seems solid.
So far I have only tried CM11 and Omni 4.4.2
I just want a fast yet stable ROM.
While the two I have tried do fit that bill I'm just wondering what the other options are.
I am a newbie to all this and have been using TWRP to flash the ROM's so it's been pretty simple so far.
Any input is welcome but as a newbie hopefully something similar or as simple to what I've been doing would be best (don't want to brick this thing TF300T)
Thank!

CROM1-x is usually both fast and stable, Android 4.2.2. I think you may have misflashed the gapps with the gmail crashes though, becuase I'm not getting those with CM11.

I don't think this is posted in the right forum. There is no Omega ROM for the VZW SGS3
VZW SGSIII SynergyRom R60 w/Imoseyon's LeanKernel v0.5

My favorite right now is the official nightlies that CM team is pushing out for CM10. They are fairly stable and reliable as a daily driver. I am also a fan of ParanoidAndroid. Of course if you are not looking for a JellyBean Rom, then my favorite custom ICS Rom was Bean's Custom build (currently version 10), which worked flawlessly for me.
If you are a fan of MIUI, an official port has been made for the Galaxy SIII, but it is still in early alpha build and is does not carry the reliability as like the roms listed above.
Beans has worked flawlessly for me. Just make sure you do the proper wipes. I have run B2, B6 and currently on B9. All have been perfect with very minor issues if any.

Hey man, I see you are from London. That means that the international SGS3 forum would be able to give you a much better answer. This particular forum is focused on the dual core LTE variant of the SGS3 that is available in the USA.
You should verify, but I believe this is where you want to be.
not sure if you're in the right place but I'm currently on Synergy r64 and loving it. Stable and maintains all my favorite TW features
I'm rooted and unlocked, looking for people's opinion on which stock ROM is best, beans or Synergy. I know it's probably personal preference but if you have an opinion let me know.
Also, I noticed in the Synergy thread that to flash this you have to place it on your external sd card? Will it not work like the others by putting it on the internal and flashing it? I don't have an external sd card at the moment...

Running Paranoid Android 2.0 and it's damn good as well. Everything works so far that I need to run it as a daily. There's some bugs that need to be addressed but it's nothing major
+1 this

Minus the volume complaint... I was running 8-23 and 8-27 without issue. However if you are truly in London then don't flash the wrong ROM. CM10 is still in early stages of development but it's super fast and stable already with minor bugs and some features aren't working just yet (NFC for example but that is minor).
The 8-27 nightly is a definite winner in my book for now... get.cm has all their downloads

[Q] Things to do?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0 {P3110} Wifi
I'm pretty happy with it so far, I've installed Clockwork Recovery and CM10.
Anything you guys think I should do that I've left out? what about kernel?
Better Rom?
This is not the first time I've Rooted and Flashed a Rom, I had a little samsung phone, with CM 7, it's pretty old but it still works.
Thanks for your time XDA!

I believe that you have meant CM 10.1, if not then go for the newest.
I'm running Dhollmen Kernel which I recommend. It's stable and have few nice things when it comes to OTGing.
Enable developer settings (hit build number in Device Information section few times) and set your scheduler/governor. I use SIO or ROW for scheduler and pegasusq for governor, but test and choose which one suits you best.
I would also recommend you to use different recovery. PhillZ Touch is my personal favorite.

Whoops, I did mean CM 10.1, sorry,
Phillz Touch has a ubuntu feel to it, {Mainly due to the background} I may stick to CW. Not because of the way it looks, it does look pretty nice, but I've used CW for some time. I may never know. I may flash Phillz Touch one day.
I've flashed Dhollmen's Kernel.
Thanks for the tips Ivyl!

PhillZ's recovery is modified CWM IIRC. I like it for it's touch accuracy, support for AROMA File Manager, and ADB root.
No problem, mate. Check other JB 4.2 rooms for their features. PAC seems to be popular. I prefer clean CM (it's fairly minimal, close to AOSP, I have flashable zip that removes some of the apps I don't use) with only few customizations. If it isn't the fastest solution it's at least good placebo. Official stable releases and updater are additional benefits.

I tried PAC, Nice little Hybrid Rom,
I'm sadly going back to old roots, I think I've always used CM. I tried PAC and it felt strange, it's nice, don't get me wrong, but what's the Pro's and Cons over CM?

I'm not sure what is "borrowed" from AOKP, but features from ParanoidAndroid are nice. It's hybrid UI with so-called Tablet Mode (like the one on stock ROM) and DPI control are mostly appealing to me. There is Pac-in-black switch too, and people seem to like inverted (or darkened) roms here.
Main con for me is too much everything. We get every feature from PA, CM and some from AOKP, which may be considered bloat (at least I do so). It hasn't got stable releases, need manual update downloads, and developer doesn't have the device.

Any pro's and cons with Slim Bean 7?
fast, smooth, stable. ive got mine with the next kernel and have absolutely no problems with it at all. all the customization i have done all seems to work, no random reboots, no force close issues. been runnin slim bean now since official 6.
I had cm10.1 and i switched to slimbean. It seems smoother and i like it a lot. Very stable, very smooth, you should try it! You wont be disappointed!

MoKee RC3, based on CM10.1 with extra features (PIE, HALO, transparent navbar and status bar, list view animation). Rock solid as CM10.1. Not as complicated as PAC. Combined with Dhollmen Kernel, CrossBreeder script, V6 Supercharger + patched services.jar and manually Odex your framework+system apps. Scored around 7,500 in Antutu with 1.2GHz OC. I have about >150 apps installed.
Well that's what I'm using right now.

4.4 Kit/kat rom

I was just wondering whether there are any 4.4 roms available? The only one I found was CM but I feel like there must be more. I might be just going blind, however I could not see any other roms. Any links or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

nope those 3 build threads are it
I suggest using kitkang http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525831
as its the latest rom with Nightlys going on every night
and seems to be the only one making progress so far (FCC,SD,Overall UI smoothness,Video GPU performance)
SSPENCER10 is working very well for me. Everything he is putting out is stable and appears to be having fewer issues than KitKang. It is even working just as well with ART as it was with Dalvik. The 11-23 build also has the new CM11 boot animation.

You realize they are all based on exactly the same code right?
And you realize that if one makes 'progress' they all make 'progress' because they use the same code right?
[ROM][4.3.1][Official][OSE Rom][d2vzw]
I'm using this one and so far so good.
It has nightlies that have 4.4
I'd recommend KitKang. It's been extremely stable and has really good battery life. ART works very well.

Summary: I don't think KitKang is recognizing my SIM card, and is causing "Phone" to crash every second or two.
Hey guys, I tried flashing the latest KitKang ROM last night, but ran into a big issue. I wiped system, cache, dalvik cache, etc. I then reflashed the MF1 firmware (it was already flashed, but for some reason I always feel better re-flashing it every time.) Then I flashed the latest KitKang D2VZW nightly linked above, and flashed the GApps mentioned in that thread too. However, upon rebooting, every second or so it would say "phone has forced closed" (or something along those lines. Also, there was no signal. I got through the setup process after a VERY long time of pressing "okay" to that error and setting up my CM and Google accounts with one key in between each error. I thought I would be able to go into Mobile Networks and change the settings, which fixed certain early issues with CM10.1 or 10.2, but to no avail. I then tried reflashing (after wiping clean) CM10.2 again to get certain files for the phone to work, then flashing CM11 over that, and it seemed to work up until it freezes after getting to the home screen. Any thoughts on what the issue may be and/or how to fix it?
Thanks!

[Q] Which CM version works best?

So I'm trying to prolong the use of this tablet but keep it stable and quick, and I think CyanogenMod is the way to go. There are a number of versions available for it, with 10.0 being the last stable build that I can find. I flashed 10.0 and it was quick and stable, except for one major problem: the Google+ app just would not load no matter what, and by searching I found others had the same issues with no fix.
So I'm back to stock 4.1.2 JB now, which is fine but I'd rather move to CM if I can. I flashed the latest nightly, but was having major issues with Gapps closing and the Play Store wasn't even available (even though I flashed the correct Gapps package).
For those that are using CM, which version is the best to use? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
Honestly, I use the CM11 builds and they are working great.

CM10.1 (based on 4.2.x) really great. I used it for the past few months.
Never give me problem. Of course you must install 2/20/13 JB Unified GApps.
Looking forward to try CM11 but having hard time with TWRP (big part) at the moment.

Another vote for CM11, but you do have to install BigPart. That isn't a big deal if you read carefully through the resource thread before proceeding. I'm certainly not a tech wizard (color TV and phones without dials were big deals when I was a kid, VCRs didn't come out until I was in college, and I was in my mid twenties when home computers just started to become widespread) and was able to run BigPart without trouble.
I got BigPart working successfully with no problems on the first go. Merely requires some reading and should work fine.
Break me off a piece of that Kit-Kat ROM!

[Q] lets make a list of ROMS for TeamWin Recovery Project 2.7.1.0(kitkat Bootloader))

Can we start a list of sorts with Roms that work with the new bootloader?? so far i read that Dhacker29 has a few test builds of cm11 . i have one installed right now and it has some bugs but works and is faster than my hd has ever been . i can run this game i like and before it couldnt play without lagging now it runs crazy fast . anyway thank you Dhacker29 for the recovery and rom. i was reading another site and someone mentioned another dev that had a test build out for the new recovery but i cant for the life of me find or remember who it was. also how can i tell if a rom will work without trying to install it. i read that the kernel had to be 3.5 and newer or some shshhsh. anyway thanks in advance to anyone that responds
I second this. Was actually thinking of suggesting the same thing. Might help keep people from flashing the JB kernel Roms and asking what they did wrong. Least maybe a bit more.

i think you can install the stock files and then root and use a root app manager to remove all the bloatware from your phone. there is even a thread that tells you all the apps you can get rid of without jacking anything up. here you can check it out

after root you can download xposed installer and then download one of the customizing modules and you can then change your icons in the status bar. nav bar, even alter the way your toast messages come in . anything you can think change the color of your wifi and 4g icons or change them to something entirely diff . here check that out too . you probably already know all this already but just in case.

Yeah I don't know if any have xt925 support or not. Hopefully they will include them eventually.
Gummy Rom
I recently tried Gummy Rom for 3.4 kernel. It was pretty good, but had trouble with bluetooth freezing the phone and wifi dropout at times. It has great progress, and appreciate those who are working on it. :good:
I have installed dhacker's 4.4 cm build from 24/6. Happy to report that it boots - and so far, at least - works great. This is on an xt925! It's the first 4.4 bootloader rom other than moto that I have got to actually boot up on this phone.
I installed gummy and have been using the auto updater running nightlies right now I'm running 6-24 build . it seems like the the previous ver. had fixed the screen dimming issue but it seemed to come back on this ver. but rarely happens I haven't tied Bluetooth yet and the popping/static sound issue is still there but other than that I like the rom . thanks for

btw, for xt925, dhacker says that we only need the new bootloader (maybe installing the leaked soak test from France we can use the newest roms)
