Been on the lookout since last year, nothing of the sort for sale at the moment, been thinking of taking it into my own hands and making one out of an old PS3 controller and plywood. :V
Would be great but I doubt that one day we will see that, phone gamepad ain't mainstream yet and to be effective they'll have to do one gamepad cas for each phones.
MY DREAMPAD :
- nice looking casing
- can reload phone so I can play for a loooong time
- xbox like button mapping
maybe we should launch this on kickstarter !

Its possible to use this on the android platform but thinking about it has anyone created an easy snap on docking unit such that you can hold the controller with the phone attached? It can probably be made easily but I don't have those kinds of tools
never seen anything like that, in my apps snesoid, nesoid, gboid and so on. I use the keyboard most of the time.
aswz for the directional pad
klm? for the main buttons
op for the buttons if they have top L/R buttons like gba and snes
works fine for most. But when I am at home I crave fighting and more action type games, I break to the classic controller. Its far better then the usual wiimote but ofc u gotta connect two things ahha
boy I wish the g2 had an hdmi out...

I've seen it posted online somewhere. It was an android phone attached to wii classic remote, it looked pretty sweet. Once I find link ill post. Also someone attached a snes controller to their dell streak looks pretty sweet too. Just search dell streak snes controller

On a side note I just heard about the game gripper, it snaps on to the keyboard of your phone. The guy does not have one for the G2 yet, I put in a request you should check it out if you haven't already.

Good to know, I will try to get my hands on one before buying.
heres one on the nexus http://phandroid.com/2010/07/28/biz...h-up-controls-your-old-school-android-gaming/
one on the evo http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-evo-4...om-evo-gaming-mount-wiimote-snes-nes-etc.html
one for the dell streak http://phandroid.com/2010/11/04/dell-streak-snes-controller-blissful-gaming-experience/
and here is the best one there is imo for the nexus and I would imagine it would fit other devices http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rxJq6tQVw8
They do look pretty cool, I thought I would be considered crazy . That said having something like this for emulation or native games which support it has got to be the coolest thing ever.

I would probably kill someone if i could get a hold of a plug snes controller for the g2...
until then classic controller is just gonna have to work out
I want to take my wii mote and stuff it in my classic controller. I hate haveint to have both to play games. As a side note i use the classic controller to play castlevaina for the ps1 with it
I bought one of these for my son for christmas. Dont laugh at it being coby. It is probably the best built product they have ever made. (i know not saying much but still its pretty damn solid). My question is i would like to install snesoid on it so he can play his games. But i would like to be able to use a controller to make it easier to play for him. Would the power A controller work. I know the coby will read a usb keyboard, but dont know if the powera controller acts as a usb keyboard. Any thoughts. I would post a link to the controller but not allowed yet. If you go to power A . c o m its the one under ps3 that has the slide out keyboard. Thanks!!!
Partly answered my own question in the last couple of days. Installed snesoid and it runs very well. Hooked up a keyboard and was able to map the keys, so lack of multitouch is no longer a problem in the games. Can anyone confirm a usb controller working with this or is it only a keyboard. Buying one today but if someone knew that a paticuler brand worked well it would help me thanks!!
Ok the other day my friends came over with his ipad and his iphone and showed me how he could play mario 64 on his ipad and use his iphone as a controller. Now why can't we do that with an android tablet ( tf ) and a android phone (g2x)? If so anyone know how?
No need fpr such set up we can use a ps3 controller or xb controller . Way better qith phisical buttons than touch screen
Yeah but I don't wana carry around a ps3 or wii controller. I always have my phone. Its more convenient.

Feel free to go and develop software to do this - I don't think anyone is stopping you.
it was a good point and not a super complaint.. don't listen to the haters, but good luck finding a dev for it!
It shouldn't actually be too tough to do. I could see someone building an "EventAgent" app, that lets you draw buttons on the screen to use any layout you want (even superimpose it over an image of a controller, like some desktop apps). Combine that with orientation-sensor support, and then just figure out how to beam the controls to the tablet.
have you tried an app called blueputdroid I believe, Ill link in just a mo
https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid&feature=search_result
It requires root, but the ipadrequires root/jailbreak to even play emulators from what Ive heard, Ive tried it myself using fpse and a couple of the yongzh emulators and it works great, although no multitouch yet.
I would be interested in this as well.
Hey hey calm down there. I love my android to death and will always stay true. I just wanted to see if there was something out there for android so I could have something else to throw in his face on how much better android is.

These arguments fall upon the deaf ears of fanboys. It goes both ways. There are plenty of Android die-hards (myself included) who don't want to hear any arguments against the ecosystem they love.
The only rational arguments come from a usability or ideological standpoint. Here are two examples:
Ideological - I don't believe a manufacturer should have any control over what software I put on or what I do with my device. My device is a tool, which should conform to my needs, not the other way around.
Usability - I only use this device for these three tasks, and since the alternative does not have support/apps for these particular tasks I prefer them to the competition.
If you are rationally choosing your ecosystem, the only logical arguments fall under these two categories. Otherwise you're simply buying into a brand, and thus you can't make any logical arguments.

Indeed....and that would fall under a fallacy of bandwagon.

Yeah if you wanna measure penises, using a PS3 controller or Xbox 360 controller is much more impressive.
If your gonna use a touch screen, why not the built in one on the tablet? I use the on screen controls for flights and stuff. Guy next to me had a DSi playing Mario which died mid flight. I was grinding my party in FF7 for 3 hours. He was impressed.
What about HDMI out running FPse PSx and a PS3 gamepad... that impresses my peeps.

That's awesome Just played it with my transformer and Xperia
Any other games like this?!!
Hey all, I've seen posts about the different kinds of controllers people use on their tf300 for playing games with and have looked around but haven't been able to find any discussions on which one(s) people think work the best/recommendations. I've been interested in getting at least one (hopefully not spending more than $25-30) and was curious on people's opinions who have tried any of the different ones out there?
Any help at all would be appreciated and I wanted to apologize as well if this topic has already been covered in a thread that I might have missed.
Right now it seems like the $50 Moga pro is the best one

I use a PS3 controller with the six-axis app. i think it works nicely. So if you already have a PS3, you already have a controller. The six-axis app lets you hap touched on the screen to buttons on the controller for games that don't support game pads.
I actually ended up picking up the last two they had in stock of this controller from gamestop yesterday because I had ran across it online/seen the reviews and they were so inexpensive. I thought I could try them out at least to get an idea of how they'd be and worst case just return them but so far on the mupen64+ emulator they've been working without a hitch. they're light but don't necessarily feel that cheap surprisingly so I'm looking forward to trying them out on different games out there. oh and mapping out the controller wasn't any trouble at all either.
I think if I end up doing more gaming than I am right now with my tablet then I'll try to get a ps3 controller and use the six-axis app, thanks for both your answers. if anybody else has any other contributions to add as well feel free
I just ordered my shield and really looking forward to using it. hopefully it arrives as quickly as amazon promised*touch wood*
honestly i got it mainly for game emulation like a lot of others. so i just wanna ask anything in particular i should be on the watch for like
during set up,
programs you'd recommend
which emulators to use
are roms easy to get on to it
do certain games or systems not work
or just general things i need to watch out for
thanks in advance

Alot of people complain of emulator slowdowns when using the newest system software. However i havent experienced any. I use snes9x for snes games, haves used it since the psp and on windows as well. Drastic for ds emulation, kinda spendy but it works really well too and worth the money. Espxe for ps1 emulation. Thats all about all i use. I bought a mini hdmi and ps3 controller for when i use it on my bigscreen and its awesome. Game streaming is also awesome. Playing watch dogs on the shield is pretty sweet haha. Roms are straight forward copy and Paste to the shield when its hooked up to pc via usb. Or u can pull the sd card and put it in a usb reader. Transferring via wifi is pretty easy as well. Half life 2 and portal are worth the money even though i have both already i bought them again [emoji1] everything is pretty straight forward and easy. Dont know if you plan on rooting it but thats pretty easy too. Any more questions ppst away
If mainly emulation, no real point in updating. I have all my roms on the sd card. Saves for emulators do not work if on the card with kitkat. Best to stay away from kitkat IMO if just emulators and Android games.
cheers guys, managed to get everything working except mame4all. cant seem to find the roms folder
