I need a secondary phone from my Note 4 to try out different roms and I realised I couldn't work out how to search for a Phone with the most forum activity or development. Is there a way to do an advanced search or a filtered search?
Also if you know the phones with the most developers plz do tell.

after being here... for a few good months, and having an xperia, and other devices.
i really started to like the idea of developing android, since im a Computer engineer i like this kind of things so my question is
how hard are the xperia and the samsung galaxy s captivate to develop?
how saturated are those devices and do you recomend them to develop?
also i want to go to develop custom roms and kenerls and suchs things
what i should know to start or any recomendation are welcome
thanks
With 183 posts you should know how to use the search feature.
There is a thread on the same forum page as your thread that already deals with this question.
It sort of gets asked every week.

Just check the xperia or galaxy forums, see for yourself.
No one knows how good your ROM will be, if its good people will use it.
I don't think there are phones to recommend for making ROMs...
...there is no money if you mean that, you basicly just need a phone with an unlocked bootloader. In that case the captivate should do.
Hey guys,
So I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to this beast of a phone and was wondering weather the MODS for the different models would work on mine since I cant seem to find MODS for my model
Any responses to help me out would be greatly appreciated !
Cheers

No . Please do not.attempt to flash anything for a different device on yours . You can very easily.destroy ot that way. Unlike iphones android phones are much different usually model to model. If its in the development section of your device thats all u want to use

Good advice as he also posted this in the ogsgsii forums. I told him the closest relative is the tmobile sgsii. I may or may not have also made a little fun of the skyrocket But all in good fun. For love of android I hope development support keeps growing for the skyrocket.

Sorry if this is like an often asked question but i couldn't find anything from googling and searching etc.
I was wondering if its possible to get the apps that the galaxy note 10.1 has? the ones that work with the "s pen". I'm talking like the conversion into typed words etc... if not whether there was a decent alternative?

I'd be interested in this as well. Are there other useful note apps as well?
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
i think its just a whole lot more kinda enabled for a stylus, I've been thinking about the possibility of creating and being able to flash a note rom onto the device (with a slight bit of hacking of cause )
oh and i've found out the real name for the app, the app is referred to as 's note'

I'm interested to find out if it is possible to run a rom from another device on my Conquer 4G. I've looked at the specs on it, and they are nearly identical to that of the Galaxy S. Anyone know if that would be possible, or would I be better off just dropping my phone in the pool and bricking it that way?

"Nearly" isn't always good enough. It may work, but some features may cause it to freeze, or crash. Unless the components are virtually identical and even then, there may be issues relating to the product id's that are supported on one device but not the other. Someone here with specific knowledge of the devices in question may find this post and give more useful info.

The ROM could be ported over to your device fairly easily.

Any guides or information on how I might go about doing this? I'm totally a noob at doing roms, and I would really like to learn. There really aren't many roms for my phone (Conquer 4G), so I'd love to be able to adapt some of the roms from other devices for use with my phone.

Choosing which ROM to port is part of the same problem I'm having with my Zenithink tablet. As for info on porting, there's no shortage of that on xda, but I haven't had much luck with the search engine here. Best to Google the site.
ie; Google search, "porting rom site:forum.xda-developers.com"
without the double quotations marks.
I'd dig through my links to help out, but I haven't enough brownie points yet to post links on here.

I found one link here on the site, but I got confused on it rather quickly. I'm going to have to read it and make sure to ask questions where applicable because there are alot of really nice roms out there for other phones (The Galaxy S for instance) that I would love to try with my phone.
Hi All,
I've had an HTC one (m7) for about 18 months, but I'm increasingly favouring the new S6 Edge as my next phone; there are so many great features that I think will be genuinely useful.
Whereas I had a good grasp on the custom ROM scene with HTC phones, I'm not so sure what the state of play is with Samsung phones. I've read somewhere that Samsung's choice to use their own processor in the S6 will make it tough to access internals that are required for sucessful rooting.
Can anyone on this forum tell me if the above is true? Will I be able to customise and tweak the S6 in the same way that I'm used to on my m7? Is Touchwiz removable, or at least replaceable by another Launcher such as Apex or Nova? And would an alternate Launcher still have access to features like apps in separate windows, quick launch camera, etc.
I realise that I could learn most of this by googling here and on other forums, but it would be great if one of the regular contributors to this forum could give me an overview.
Thanks for your help,
Miles.
I think htc m9 will be for that

Hi Miles,
Unfortunately there is no one I know with an HTC phone.
I'll ask you a question and see if this would be recommended by you at all? The HTC M9.
