I currently have a Moto G 1st Gen UK. I am currently waiting for lollipop however I have seen that the GPE edition already has lollipop now. Because it appears that moto g gen 1 and moto g gpe has identical hardware, would i be able to flash a gpe rom on my stock 4.4.4 gen 1? That way I could have gpe lollipop on my device?
Another question if the above is possible, would it would in the UK as i'm currently on O2?

It's somehow a way to catch attention but at least in the future you should consider to give your threds more meaningful titles
Concerning your question: don't think this will work that easy since gpe and non-gpe use different file systems on the userdata partition (ext4 and f2fs). If you are willing to unlock your bootloader you can of course think about CM or some other custom ROM.
Is O2 your provider? As long as your rom correctly can address your sim-card (what should be the case if you flashed the right one) there shouldn't be problems with your provider.

Hi All,
I've a MOTO G (USA variant, Single SIM) XT1032, which is not upgrading to 4.4.4 it's stuck on 4.4.3. Whenever I try upgrading, it says "Your device's Software is up to date". Can someone guide me or get me 4.4.4 (official) upgrade files, so that I can upgrade it manually.
You already have the most current version for the US Retail XT1032. The next update will likely be to directly to L. There's not much difference between 4.4.3 and 4.4.4.

Hi,
Well update for Moto G is already rolled out in US too.. (even their website says the same) not sure what's wrong at this end. Any idea when Android L is releasing?
The website mentions 4.4.4 for Boost, not Retail US. Look again. 4.4.3 is the latest for you handset.
Hello!
I am currently running Moto Maxx XT1250 on 4.4.4 android. And the device says that there is no any update for me by air.
Does anyone have any information about upcoming update for XT1250 from 4.4.4 to 5.x.x. or 6.x.x. ?
Thank you!
I don't think so. Motorola appears to have abandoned the XT1250 to 4.4.4 like the Moto Turbo got left out of the 6.0 update. I have the same issue on my XT1250, and I'm just going to be returning it and getting an XT1225 unless there's a way to flash XT1225 firmware on my XT1250. I tried it with the retail Brazil firmware and Wi-Fi got permanently broken as well as cellular, so I had to go back to the American XT1250 stock software.
OMG this is a very bad news for me.
Well
1) the Droid Turbo XT1254 Quark bootloader just got unlocked -- so when the devs flood to that with whatever ROMs, you can flash those too. The XT1250 and XT1254 have the same FCC ID. They are identical in every respect.
2) I know @Skrilax_CZ, the CM dev for Quark has been developing support for the XT1250 as well as @baybutcher27 the Resurrection Remix dev. For awhile they were handicapped because no one with an XT1250 would volunteer to help test stuff. Not sure what the current state is, you would have to ask them.
Good news everyone, 1250 just got the OTA update (still 5.0.2 however). 22.34.27.en.US version number.
Got my OTA today.

Last time the XT1250 was update 9 months after Droid Turbo XT1254 (same device) was updated. And now the Droid Turbo just got updated to Marshmallow beginning of December 2016. Hope it won't be as long this time?
Last time was July 2015 (Lollipop) for Droid Turbo XT1254, and then March 2016 (Lollipop) for XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx.
Maybe will be March 2017 for the XT1250... Otherwise if "9 months" (like last time) then you are looking at August 2017.
I doubt if it supports the roms of xt1032
No need for doubt - it is an XT1032. It only has a different model number for marketing reasons.
Does anyone have a working method to dual boot ROMs on the moto g 3rd gen?
As far as I know it's not possible. Multirom is not available for the moto g 2015 yet. I don't know if it will ever be available, but I really hope so.
Hello. I have a Moto G XT1031 (Moto G Boost Mobile version) which I currently have flashed with a the verizon stock rom (I used it on Page Plus). Its on Android 4.4 and I want to convert it into a DIY Google Home device which requires a later version of Android. I see that there is many roms with android 7 or 8 available for the GSM version of the Moto G but nothing for the Boost Mobile version. I was wondering if I can flash one of those GSM roms like LineageOS 14.1 and have it function. I don't need cellular connection, just wifi is sufficient. Thanks a lot.
