I take that in order to change the voicemail notification sound you need to edit the registry since its not in the settings?

Does anyone know what the Notifications ringtone under the main setting in sound and display affects? I changed it around, but it doesn't seem to affect anything. If I change the notification ringtone under messaging it works, same with email. Just not sure what the main one does.
Any ideas?
The same notification sound is usually played for all incoming messages on Android by default.I want a different sound for different notification .
Can you change the notification sound for New Voicemail, New Text Message, New Mail etc.........and can you change the shut down sound
To change the text notification, go into the Messaging app, hit Menu-Settings, and then change the ringtone. The same can happen for the Mail, Gmail, and Voicemail apps. You just have to go into that app to change the sound for that app.
My voicemail doesn't work I don't know why it doesn't, is there a QPST setting related to that?
and also my default ringtone will not work period. My messaging and notification sounds work all fine and zedge set my default ringtone just fine. I tried a call yourself app and it does a fake calling myself and it uses the default ringtone I set so it must be the phone.apk right? What would be causing such a weird issue?

How do I change the notification tone for Exchange..it is stuck on a sort of thunk sound which is not impacted by changing the default notification tone..no problem with the tone on Google Mail.

Go to Settings->Personalize->Sound tab at the bottom->Notification sounds->Email
