It also provides users with unlimited storage capacity, Windows and Mac compatibility, and the freedom to play the most popular mobile games on a desktop. With phone as a joystick, you will never have to sacrifice the multi-touch or gyro elements of gaming, and thanks to seamless connection between desktop and mobile, you can receive a SnapChat phone picture on the street and see it on your desktop at home or just download Whatsapp for pc.

I'm game. Been looking for a good alternative to BlueStacks.

OP has 6 posts, just one reply since yesterday (and only cause XDA just tweeted it), the big image is embedded from a piracy site that hosts cracked android apps... so, is this legit?
Edit: Link to official site - http://andyroid.net/

I think site should provide the full package for slow internet connection.

Sorry, why to put this on XDA Forums after almost a year of its availability?

It might not make much of a difference with desktop PC's but, something limited in CPU performance Andy OS doesn't seem to run well, tested on my T100TA (x86 baytrail tablet) was choppy and laggy. DuOS runs extremely well on the same tablet, worth noting and trying if you have the same or similar device.

Me too... I always get trouble with BS

Has anyone tried this?
The online installer seems kinda limited for some people with slow internet connections like me.

To run android apps on PC I use Genymotion, it's smoother and customizable

Cute, I went to the download link and got a message about it being in closed alpha.

I think ill wait a little while for others to confirm their exp- not very positive according to the above.

Genymotion is conveniently left out on the comparison table. Hmm...wonder why?

This is great and all, but youve stopped downloads. What the hell.
Cute way to drive traffic to your site, I guess.

I believe there is, check their Facebook page. It's still going to be the same size whether the installer downloads the required files or you download a large setup package.

Last week, we were following the rise of some mobile versions of Firefox (Maemo, Android) and the fall of others (Windows Mobile). This week, the much-talked-about Android edition of Mozilla's browser has hit Android forums as a pre-release download. It's not feature-complete yet, but it does have a bookmark manager and support some add-ons. If you want to be the first kid on your block to try Firefox on Android, it's worth a download.
Our friend Brad Linder, over at Mobiputing, says that the build that's going around right now is optimized for Droid, and doesn't run quite so smoothly on his Nexus One. He also points out that you'll need to copy the .apk file to your phone's SD card and use a file explorer app to complete the install. It's called "GeckoApp," by the way, which is a reference to the Gecko rendering engine used in Firefox.
If you're not amongst the brave early-adopters who want to download and install a prerelease app, you can still scope out the video after the jump for a visual taste of Firefox on Android.

The German directions say it's for use in emulators only, not to be downloaded to the device.

What, you can't read German? It tells you on the site:

It means what it looks like: User for Downloads: fennec

The larger versions with a 'D' are debug versions.
Yikes. Even to this day I still have major memory leaks with Firefox. It's manageable on a PC with 4 gb of ram, but I'm a bit nervous about the havoc it could play with a mobile device.
too bad you should read the first post here and see how much memory it takes up on your phone lol

[app] Mobile MerckMedicus: Awesome FREE Medical Reference, One of the Best out there

Hi everyone
This is one of the best medical references out there, and it is FREE
I've been using mobile Merck Medicus for few years on WM. They have made Android app some time ago, I did not see anything about it here, so I wanted to share the info

You'll get the following with the app:
The Merck Manual, Professional Edition
Harrison's Practice - Answers on Demand
Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests
Reuters Medical News
MEDLINE Journal Abstracts
MerckMedicus and MEDLINE Search
RSS News Feeds
Installation:
First: you need to register with their website:
https://www.merckmedicus.com/pp/us/hcp/hcp_registration.jsp?WT.svl=1
Second: Go to this website from your phone:
http://www.merckmedicus.com/pp/us/hcp/hcp_mobile_medicus.jsp
(Just search merckmedicus from your phone, it much easier)
Then choose "Download", you'll go to another page, login, then you'll be able to install the app
I have attached the apk as well.
For comprehensive information, go here:
http://www.unboundmedicine.com/support/ub/userguides/merckmedicus_android
I tried this on my old Kaiser running Android 2.1 and it works like charm. much better looking than WM
As I said, it's by far one of the best medical apps you can get, very accurate info, you can update it regularly, does not require internet connection to work (just for first time, and if you want to sync), and it’s free
I did not know that this app was available for android before. I'm now very tempted to let go my HD2 and get an android device….Maybe when the Desire HD is out
I hope you benefit from it
thanks , gonna try it

NEED HELP!!
I've been using Merck Medicus since Windows Mobile. AWESOME APP!!! I have it for both my iPhone and Android tablet. So, when I updated my iPhone a few months ago and it deleted the database without so much as a warning, I was more than a little pissed. Months later, still no update and no content. I should let you know I'm a flight paramedic... so offline file access is essential. Not much internet above the clouds.
So, I blocked internet access from the app on my tablet using the Avast firewall and (obviously) haven't updated it. I upgraded from CM7 to CM9 and was able to preserve everything using Titanium Backup BUT... my Harrison's Clinical Database appears to be corrupt. When I serach topics in Harrison's I get "This item could not be displayed due to an error". Of course, it wants me to re-download the database (not an option as it will clear out all the data and replace it with a "we're updating this app to make it better... in the meantime you don't get squat" message).
Does anyone have a working copy of this app with that database they can help me out with? It should be in /unbound_medicine/Mmmo/z_Harrison's Practice_Mmmo.pdb
To be clear here: I'm looking for a database file for a free app... this not a request for anything pirated.
And to those of you who have the app... DON'T UPDATE!! If you don't have it already, there's not much point right now to downloading it as there is no content available.
Need help from you who need help!
I'm having the same problem. Actually mine is even worse because when i uptated to CM9, for some reason, my Titanium Backup didn't work with Merck Medicus and i dont have any package installed!

[Q] Jdownloader alternative for Android

Im looking for some sort of download manager for Android thats a bit like JDownloader.
You know where you can simply add in your premium accounts for various sites and then download files using the download manager.
Is there anything like this?
I'm interested too!!
However, there are MyDownloads(1,50E) which support fileserve and megaupload, Download All Files(free), Download Buddy(0,70E) but this is a background service, ByteTornado(free) and some other minor things ...but none of these have the configurability and "the power" at least similar to Jdownloader or related download manager for pc.
Regards
Any new app?! I need a similar app! :-(
tried pyLoad?
pyLOAD is a client like jdownloader rc... I need a software that help me to download files directly from hosting site, to my dispositive.
I am currently using an ASUS EEE Pad Transformer, running Honeycomb 3.3...
Please if someone knows any solution, answer the question. Bye
try Premium Downloader apk v1.07
I have found sitesharing manager which work fine, for who is interested.

Is it perhaps possible to use JDownloader via Java-Emulator?
Java (Like the "j" in JDownloader) should be platform independet after all.
Also Jiaz (JD-Admin) hinted that there will be something aimed at android but only after JD2 is finished. (I'm not allowed to post Links, but it translates into something as "JD for android... wait for it, we might have something in the bag of tricks but that will take some time because we got more urgent stuff to do.)

Are any of these apps have the option of jdownloader to restart rooter to get new ip and download again 2
without wait?
I dont think so..
I use JDownloader for 2 viewing/listening offline two sources, youtube and mixcloud. Can someone verify if they work on the tool of your preference. I believe most are with Ponydroid.
Well, I have been using Android Download Manager (ADM) for past couple of months now and it works great. I think it uses the part downloading method same as IDM for desktop, haven't really seen a speed boost though.
To bad these apps don't resolve those stupid advertisement sites the links are hidden in. JD for PC seems to work with 90% of them while PD does maybe 5%.
I use LoaderDroid, so far so good

Finally, I've been waiting forever for a decent downloader.
Let's be honest, downloading large files can be quite a difficult and unrewarding task. But not anymore! ;-)
You can share your Code?
Looks just what I was looking for, my Isp without multi-part doesn't shine.
Simply the best. Now I can download in FULL SPEED after using my phone for such a long time! Plus, the simple and no-nonsense interface is just what I'm looking for. Everything is working fine. Pausing and resuming works fine, though resuming can take sometime to resume the download again. Just one thing though, add an option to remove the temporary files too (for incomplete downloads is a must as I sometimes decided to not to download that file).
Great job on this one. Hopefully it can stay free forever!
Thanks, but how do you join up the different parts of a the same file so that one can use it as intended?
Cheers.

I think it works like torrents work. Not actually splitting files. Even a single file, say a movie can be split on this way. That's how torrents with atleast, maybe even this. But there already are apps like this in the market, what's the difference?

I haven't tried this yet, but I think a major question is... does this work for file sharing sites like mediafire, rapidshare, hotfile, depositfiles, etc? If so, that would be incredible! Some of those sites are ridiculously slow, so this would be a great way to speed those up
I was just downloading CM9 FXP with this, and I was getting 100-200 kb/s. Just thought I'd tell people who're wondering the kinds of DL speeds you'll get. I'm on 3G, btw.

I've only tested with Mediafire since its the easiest website to try out the downloader and I can confirm that it works fine. And I get full speed like I always get from my PC (1000+KB/s).
Wow. This is a really great app. I kind of had my doubts on this when I was installing. Well I don't have anymore. This things works great. Downloaded a 380MB file on WiFi in under two minutes. Normally would have taken me at least five. Great app.
