[Q] Reloading Stock Software - Asus Transformer TF700

I purchased an Asus TF700T with trouble shutting down the device. When the power off or restart options are selected from the Shutdown menu it'll remain on the power off screen. When I try a Cold power off by holding down the power button the screen turns blank followed by 2 buzzes then restart. Is there a fix for this or a way that I can reload the stock software?
Android Version:4.2.1
Kernel Version:3.1.10-gb1a9af5 [email protected]#1
Build number:JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801

First thing I would try would be a factory reset from Settings.....
If you want to reflash the Asus firmware, download it from Asus support downloads site (make sure you dl the correct SKU, in your case: US).
Unzip that file once and copy the resulting zip to the root of your internal SD. You should get a notification about an available update, just confirm you want to install it.
If that does not work, copy that file to a fat32 formatted microSD and rename it EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip. Insert the microSD and boot to recovery:
Hold Power and Volume Down until you see some small text. Push Volume Up on the flashing RCK icon.
The recovery should flash the file and reboot automatically.
But you really should look into flashing a custom rom on this baby! You will have so much more fun with it!!!!

[Q] Cannot boot into recovery

Hello guys,
I have a problem. I flashed todays CyanogenMod Nightly, but wasn't really satisfied with the overall performance and wifi signal strength. So I took the latest guevor kernel, which was not specifically for Megatron nor AOKP nor some other ROM. So I gave it a try. Now I have no wifi any more, and cannot boot into recovery via Rom Manager nor the "normal" recovery option the extended power menu. As a last option I considered the 2-button combination when the tablet boots. Now comes the blast in my eyes: It does not power off! After tapping on "Power off" it stucks.
I do have a backup but without booting into recovery I cannot restore ot obviously.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hold the power button for 15 seconds. Then it will turn off. then hold volume down, THEN power, then press volume up. Voila in recovery!
try the reboot2recovery app from the market aswell. always handy to have around.
Thing O Doom, thanks, I'll try later.
scottyf79, that's the crucial point! When there's no wifi, there's no downloading this app. I've always used it but now I'm pi**** I can't.
Doom,
I try with power Vlo down then Vol up, But showing android with RED ! Mark.
Cannot see recovery or CWM. Boot Looping..... HELP !!!!
well just as an update that may interest those finding themselfs in recovery bootloops, whether be it stock Asus, dev'd Asus or w.h.y.
you may have read i had taken a customers tf home with this issue to try and fix it. ended up rma'ing the unit.
Asus ended up replacing 3 circuit boards to resolve the issue!

The Android with ! is your stock recovery.
Seems like you lost CWM somehow. You'll need to install CWM or a custom recovery again.
If you're on a CM9 Nightly you have root, so just download rouge recovery or a recovery, take the file 'recoveryblob' out of the .zip file. Then put it somewhere on your transformer (Preferably MicroSD or root of internal storage: /sdcard/)
Then in the terminal emulator or adb run these commands:
Code:
su (Get pound sign)
dd if=/where/you/put/recoveryblob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot recovery
Then you should boot, see a blue bar, and be put in recovery.

[Q] Wiping Data

I have had my TF700 for about a month and half now after returning my first one to Amazon after tried to install NVflash and bricked it ( that a disaster I do not wish to try again, long story) . Anyways I have been playing with it to become familiar with everything. Now I want to install the official stock JB just to see what it will do. I am rooted and have the OTA Root Saver app. I have downloaded the the US JB zip from Asus and put the zip file in it on the external SD card. Here is where I am stuck. I boot into recovery by using the power button and the volume down button. I release the power button when I feel the vibration and the volume down button when I see the press vol-down vol-up in small lettering in the upper left. I now have the Wipe Data and Android icons on the screen. I use the volume button to move over to the Wipe Data icon and the and then use the power button to select it but then, Nothing happens. I really do not know what to expect since this is a little different from my Viewsonic G tab that has CWM installed and it shows at the bottom screen that Wiping data is in progress. What am I suppose to see after selecting Wipe Date in the Asus stock recovery?
A second question, if I wipe the data will I lose my OTA Root Saver?

First Volume down is to select the icon and Volume up is to execute (not the power button), Second issue, if you use the full version from Asus you are going to wipe out your root. You must use the incremental upgrade file dlpkgfile. Here is the link read post # 87

[Q] [=]Bricked[=] TF700 from ics factory reset

unlocked & was rooted with ICS .30.
I was doing A factory reset, from the tablet options to wipe all games & apps, forgot & wanted to use TWRP. so stopped it from rebooting once I hit the button in ICS to factory reset, bad mistake as, now if I try to use micro sd recovery or APX, but dont have a timer count down, just frozen at this screen.
When the issue first picture with the ASUS logo in the top right corner says::
The Device is Unlocked.
When you try to go to recovery mod it produces here
Android cardhu-user bootloader <2.10. e> released by "US_epad-9.4.5.30-20120907" A03
Checking for android ota recovery
Booting recovery kernel amage
* and everything is stuck here without even a timer, no way to get the usb option even. tried apx shows drivers in windows but dont show a device once you type adb devices. seems to be locked up once it boots now, tried to drain battery & see if it would unlock, nope. tried reset, hard reset, not sure if there is any option to unfreeze, looked around forums & tried many things, but odd it the wipe button is hit in os & stopped even before a reboot, it already wiped some stuff. thought it started after reboot. turned off right when I click the button, was bad mistake of mine.
downloaded JB from asus, unzipped & renamed. but freezes at asus logo without a timer option, or APX wont respond even tho I hear the usb chime & drivers show in windows, ASUS_Android_USB_Drivers were installed, to try fastboot, no device shown tho.
1. Decompress downloaded .zip file (it will be another .zip)
2. Rename it to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip
3. Format FAT32 the MicroSD card that you will be using for the update process
4. Copy the file to (the root directory of) your MicroSD
5. Insert it into the tablet
6. Shutdown (power off) the tablet
7. Power it on by pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons simultaneously
8. When you see white text in the top left corner of the screen, release the buttons ^^ and press VOLUME UP button until you see Android logo and process bar
Let me know if there are other was to unfreeze or is this a $300 mistake to have asus repair as its a software brick.

Since you're pure stock (no root or unlocked), there only a few things you can try:
1. Cold boot (turn off, then hold volume down and power button until you see white text on screen, now release both buttons. Next hit the volume button to move the highlighted to the Android icon, then hit the volume up button twice.
2. Factory reset (go to settings - backup and restore. This will wipe out all your setup/apps/data etc..reset back to like when you brought it new )
3. Manually upgrade (IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DO STEP 2 - Download full Asus firmware, unzip the file then copy the new zip file to the root of your sdcard, you should see an "update notification" popup in the notification), tab on it and upgrade.
4. May want to give Asus tech a call to find out why the update is not working.(this is your choice as an option).
Good luck!
EDIT: Make sure you have a backup of all your important stuff.

[Q] Failed to start recovery mode

Hi guys,
I have a problem to start in recovery mode, which means I can't flash roms and even re-root my tablets.
The major changes I did should be:
1. I un-root to firmware(not likely i guess)
2. I delete all the files in my tablet by connecting to a computer and select all items and press delete( perhaps I accidentally delete something that is important)
Now once I press power on/off with Vol down I can still access to 3 icons
I press Vol up to RCK then I saw Android died with the "!"
do anyone of you know how can I fix it?

Copy the latest Firmware on your SD card. Re name it to "EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip"
Go into recovery, and it should reflash and reset.
however, the issue that i stated is primarily about failed to access recovery mode instead of solely failed to flash roms
TF300T is killing me
