I have flashed the new ROM (Cyanogenmod 12) successfully on my Glalaxy SIII mini (I8190), but when I tried to Flash GAPPS, the computer could not recognize the device and I could not copy the GAPPS folder to Phone's Internal memory. I flashed the above ROM again, but still the same problem persists.
Before the custom ROM installation, I was using the phone with the same computer with the same cable and I never had a problem.

Do you mena this CM12 version: [ROM][5.0.2] CyanogenMod 12.0 [stable: 20150113 / experimental: 20150114]?
You know ... it's "work in progress", so many things already work, but some ...
In the changelog (Post #2) I can see "probably fixed MTP" for latest version.
So Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) may work now ... but no garantee.
Best is to check latest reports of other users, if there are still some issues with it or not.
And/or you can post your question there.
For general questions about your device, please post in the Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !
EDIT:
Just found on the ROM thread, that the USB cable/connection issue still persists (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58235665&postcount=1326).
So use an external sd card or an app using wifi/bluethoth (e.g. Airdroid) to transfer files between the phone and the PC.
Thread closed and thank you.

Hi Dear Friends,
I tried this great rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2237438
Everything is working simply great except :
1) USB storage of my phone is not being detected i.e. 16 GB by default. I tried several time from setting-->storage--->mount usb storage but no use. Because of this I'm not able to use camera, gallery, etc.
2) whenever I try to connect my phone to pc through usb wire, it fails after showing some progress. So not able to transfer files.
Earlier I was using AOKP Milestone that they released in october 2012. At that time there was no above such problem.
I believe this is not any major issue and you will help and guide me to solve this.
Thanks in advance. Other all features of rom are working awesomely.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this community (as well as these activities i.e. flashing, modding etc..), but i have been following up on threads and topics for about 2 months..
i was obsessed with changing my N8000's OS, and I've found here a lot of Mods and stuff like Cyanogen Mod and OmniRom and others
but i decided to try out Ubuntu.
So far, i have found 2 main topics about installing Ubuntu on N8000, first one by mamenyaka about Ubuntu touch, and the other is X-Stranger's about Ubuntu (the PC version I Guess..),
However, i have a bunch of questions regarding installation and features, so please be patient with my n00bness! and Thanks in Advance...
(if this thread gets solved, I think it can perhaps be used as a "newbie FAQs")
1st of all i have a note 10.1 N8000 running stock JB , and I have about 3.5 GB free
These Questions are based upon procedures and infos in mamenyanka's thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168999
1- Should i upgrade to 4.4.x KK or should i keep JB? (recommendations?)
2- Do i have to have Cyanogen Mod installed on My device in order to install Ubuntu?
3- Do i have to Root the Device?
4- Can i Dual Boot this or install on SD?
5- Sound doesnt Work? u mean speakers aint detected? can it be usable if i plug the headphones?
6- Cellular Radio doesnt work? u mean no Calls/SMS?
7- What about Play store and its Apps?
8- Does this Ubuntu support WINE?
9- Does this Ubuntu detect other devices like BT keyboard or USB Flashes?
10- What is the best Tool for Backing up? (my device is untouched since buying i.e. didnt do any kind of Modding)
11- Does the backup save my entire data (Apps, games, savegames, notes, contacts, gallery, sounds etc.)
12- What is the chance of my device getting bricked?
And these questions are based upon X-Stranger's Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554959
1- What kind of ubuntu is this?
2- Should i upgrade to 4.4.x KK or should i keep JB? (recommendations?)
3- Can i DualBoot this or install on SD?
4- Does the sound work here?
5- 3G doesnt work? u mean no Calls/SMS?
6- What about Play store and its Apps?
7- Does this Ubuntu support WINE?
8- Does this Ubuntu detect other devices like BT keyboard or USB Flashes?
9- What is the recovery.img file, what is the custom and the native recovery.img, and what does the "menus" stand for?
10- What is the chance of my device getting bricked?
A Yes/No answer would be enough for most of these questions..
Thanks Again
Hello guys,
I have installed a custom ROM on my HTC ONE V phone after doing a backup with the HTC Sync Manager. I updated the firmware (Hellboy) and then played with a bunch of different ROMs. I think I did a backup with clockwork at some point on it but I don't think I can find it between the other folders on the phone. Main problem as soon as I installed the custom ROM I was unable to connect it with the computer anymore. First of all it displayed only the USB Mass USB connection, tried a lot of times with various different ROMs to enable via terminal mtp or ptp with no luck (computer sees it only as an external drive and HTC manager doesn't see it at all).
So I would try to revert it back to the custom ROM which looks to be even more of a hassle then installing a custom rom. Anyway, I have a new phone that I'm using now and only care for my backup contacts. I see them on my computer on AppData but they are encrypted and have the XML extension. Is there any software that can import that data into content that can be used?
Thanks!
Hi,
First, are you using Sense based roms? Only Sense based will have HTC sync. Without Sense and HTC sync, the computer just sees a random device. Trying a Sense rom, or flash back to stock will likely let you see your contacts again.
So, for more insight and help with your contacts, you will need to ask about it in your device section, here...
> HTC One V > One V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
I just wanted to say that you're a life saver mate. Thank you so much! You took 5 mins of your time to post a reply on my thread and I saved hours or maybe more of research for this stupid issue. As soon as I searched a sense enabled ROM and install it and as soon as I realized that I can access my device from my computer using fastboot instead of adb when the device is in bootloading mode (I was trying to ping my device with "adb devices") everything went smoothly. I flashed a proper boot, a new sense-enabled ROM, I synced with my HTC Sync Manager, exported my contact list (for some reason it didn't automatically - basically never synced the contact lists), imported the contact list into my google account and bam! It appeared on my new telephone like some magic.
Wow, well done my friend!
Thank you. Thread closed.
After a few weeks since I got my OnePlus, I'm having a strange problem. Whenever I try to copy any sort of data to/from the phone, a few seconds after task has been started I get this error
"Cannot copy file.xxx
The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected"
Also, the OTG storage devices get unmounted randomly and notification pops up
"USB storage unexpectedly removed"
I reached the concusion (like most of you would) that maybe USB port is malfunctioning.
But here is the twist:
If I connect my phone in MTP mode while in TWRP, the copying/pasting just occurs successfully each time. Even if I mount OTG in TWRP, USB storage works as it should without any issues.
I've already tried:
-changing different ROMs (PA, CM)
-flashing stock kernel, recovery and rom
-using different USB cables
-using different PC
-changing in between MTP and PTP
-copying directly to root, folders and sub-folders
But each time, the copying and OTG storage fails while booted into OS but works normally while using TWRP
[BTW I created accidentally created a duplicate thread in development section which I can't remove]

Hello friends,
I have seen many people's reporting issues with oneplus one OTG/USB connection.
Sometimes it works for few minutes and then disconnects. But it works fine in trwrp mode.
I too have same problem and have tried various methods to resolve the issue,
One of the solution i tried is flashing cm12 nightly..but the issue resurface very often.
The work around i found is " To disable the mobile data connection and then connect the OTG.
It should resolve your OTG problem, meanwhile developers provides some concrete solution.

Hi, not sure if I am posting this in the correct place but am having problems with a TCL M2U ( which appears to be riddled with viruses and is next to unusable). I was planning on attempting to flash it but can't get it to connect to the PC (any PC), and even the option for connecting via USB in storage settings is 'greyed out' and cannot be selected.
Is it possible to flash it from the SD card maybe, I can access a (Chinese) menu by pressing the power up button while powering on, but my reading of Chinese is somewhat lacking unfortunately.
Managed to get a recovery working on the phone, ( from here http://www.needrom.com/category/tcl/m2u/ ) but when I try to flash the Amigo rom from there it fails.
Managed to flash the Lewa rom though, so have phone back in action (to a certain extent), but would prefer a different rom.
Was getting ERROR 7 using CWM to install the amigo rom, but was reading here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762 ) how to fix it, but when I open the 'updater-script' file in notepad, it does not appear to have any of the 'assert' lines referred to in the fix.
Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist,
please create a new thread here. The experts there should be able to help you.
