Hi there ,
I know I should use search , but considering I've just got to this S4 forum , I would really appreciate if someone who read all the threads up until now can sum it up for me so I won't have to start and read all the threads that speak about batteries , I know that there are 3 great brands, I'm thinking about ANKER ... does anyone think otherwise?
Thanks for your help friends
Well buddy. ..i just got the ec battery pack and i am enjoying so far. i will post a mini review about it Pretty soon.

Can you tell if those are legit or not? I'm trying really hard to find some legit normal-size batteries, which aren't overpriced. I would assume they don't exist on ebay...

I currently have the i9300 anker battery and I'm very happy with it .

I registered my phone on Samsung.com and promptly received an email with a 50% off coupon. I then used that to buy a second actual Samsung battery for $20. No worries about NFC not working right. No worries about getting some cheap battery that doesn't last as long as stock.
And I really think I only need one spare battery, so getting a "good deal" on some aftermarket set where I could get 2 "equal" batteries for the same money i spent doesn't really interest me. I haven't read a single review yet that confirmed any specific aftermarket battery to work fully as well for NFC as the stock battery. I have seen some that said a battery's NFC worked perfectly, but then you find out they only tested something like S-Beam, but they didn't actually test using it for Google Wallet or to make a payment with ISIS. Since I HAVE seen other reviews (on Amazon) where the person found S-Beam to work and NFC payments to still not work, I infer that those two things are different and a test that only tests S-Beam is incomplete and thus inconclusive.

Has anyone else tried the EC Technology battery yet? They claim it is 2800 but doesn't require any extended back cover. There are no reviews for this yet on Amazon. The reviews are for all the other batteries they sell and are favorable. I had their battery for the EVO 3D and it worked great. Trying to decide which spare battery I want to pick up between the Anker, Onite, EC, or RAVPOWER. To the poster that bought the battery, did you contact them and ask why NFC is not working?
According to the company the EC Technology battery does NOT support NFC but does have a slightly higher capacity 2800 vs 2600.
According to the Amazon reviews the newer version of the Anker does support NFC.

Hrm... is there any danger in using a battery like this? IS there any likelihood that it can damage the phone? Not worth it to save a few bucks and risk a $700 phone.

Probably but I never heard of after market batteries damaging a cellphone. I had 3 batteies like that for my s2 and 3 for my s3 and now i have 3 for my s4, never had any trouble. But for sure that can happen because that happen with stocks batteries.

No danger of damage, but some of the cheap ones can cause instability and odd behavior - there is a chip in them after all. I bought the 2 pack onite with charger for about $22 - NFC capable and 1 year warranty.I consider most amazon purchases safe, but i would never buy a battery off ebay.

Yes, another review here showed it thicker then stock, and if i went with wireless charging, that is already adding a layer, so I didn't want the back popping off. There were 5 or 6 other good reviews of Onite, and on Amazon, all is positive regarding batteries. So i gave it a shot, and happy so far.
I'm using momax, and have for my s2 and s3...though only because anker is difficult and too expensive to get shipped to australia

Well I figure I'd check in over here since I picked up a new/used Note 3. Bought it off a guy on craigslist for $400, original box and a new Otter Box Defender. Still have my S4 but I figure for the price I'll give it a go. Don't plan on rooting it, I rooted my S4 and damn, I couldn't stay on the same rom for more than a few days.
Like the Otter Box but hate the belt clip, gotta have a belt clip holster so I picked up the one at Best Buy made by Seidio. I think BB calls it the Platinum series case, love that style for work but I think if I keep the Note I'll order the Seidio Dilex case with holster. Also ordered the Nillkin 9H Hardness Tempered Glass Front Screen Protector, should be here on Thursday.
Now off to You Tube for some video training on this S-Pen.
I was like that on my HTC One, once I rooted I changed ROM's daily, still kinda am currently on the Note also haha
What version did you pick up? - 400 isn't a bad price either

Yup, there's (to name a few) N900A(snapdragon) N900T(snapdragon) N900V(snapdragon) N900 (exynos) N9005(snapdragon) N9002(dual sim) and some other variants, The difference being the CPU and LTE connectivity, also the main one N9005 (international version) Doesn't have ATT/Verizon LTE bands etc they don't always play nice if bought from one network and you want to work on another network

AndroidCentral has some pictures of some of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Accessories:

TheVerge has some info on the bejeweled back covers and the LED Covers:
http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/3/6101321/galaxy-note-4-swarovski-crystal-back-accessories-announced
It looks like the LEDs on the LED Cover are just around the top portion of the flip, not all over it like the HTC Dot View.
Video talks about the Gear VR Headset, Gear S Watch, and Gear Circle:
The Qi Cover is separate like last year. The S View Covers are probably the same.

Curious if they will release a dock? I have one for my Note 3 that I will be trying first thing once the Note 4 arrives.

If you're talking about the OEM desk dock, it won't work because the Note 3 dock is USB 3.0 and the Note 4 is USB 2.0.
Anyone have an idea of when the official accessories will be available, like the wireless charging back? Not sure how long I'm willing to go without wireless charging on my Note 4.

That would be my first thought too, but I currently have a USB 2 dock that works great for the Note 3. So, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic that it will work. I would like to ditch my Chinese knock-off dock with an official Samsung dock to gain 1920*1080 output. My knock-off dock only outputs 1280*720; but it is a fraction of the cost of the official dock...
So, I'll try my current dock when my Note 4 arrives and post my results. Then, if it does work, I'll spring for the official dock...
Is it weird that I'm only getting this phone because of that LED wallet cover thing?

most official Samsung accessories for the 4 are available now. Qi wireless charging covers on the 20th of this month.
Where is a dock or MHL 3.0 adapter available? You all realize it supports up to 4K @30hz display output? I can't seem to find any 3.0MHL. Also, anyone know if the miracast/allshare cast has improved in anyway ??

neither the LED or the Crystal covers are available yet. the Samsung USA Mobile rep told me that the accessories site for the 4 won't go live until "next week", but he probably felt pressured into telling me that over the phone.

Some Accessories are being listed now on Samsung and the 50% off coupon works. See my post in the other thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56001873&postcount=3
OEM battery and kit is on backorder
Anyone try to price match at it Best Buy and pick up in store? I imagine they don't honor the promotional pricing.
The old dock of my Note 1 works as expected with Note 4

From what I've read the Gear VR is supposed to come out Nov to early Dec.
I bought one of these and never got round to using it, they are hard to fine and I am now selling it due to having a new phone.
I wont link you as I don't think I'm allowed to but I will tell you that it is on eBay titled " Samsung Galaxy S4 Battery Door NOTE 3 STYLE RARE"
Please Note I am only accepting UK bidders due to postage

Amazon offers them for as little as $5 (before shipping). They are designed to fit any model of Galaxy S4, regardless of carrier.
Hi,
I dropped my phone from about 4 feet onto carpet, the phone was in a Spigen Hybrid case and survived the fall with no damage. The "S Pen" though decided to fly out and break exactly where that line in after the "Samsung" logo...
It probably fell at that exact right angle to fly off but man it is frustrating that I'll have to pay 50$ for a replacement pen...
Are there good alternatives to the "official" S-Pen?
Nope, sorry... if you want the bluetooth functions, it's the only one of its kind, supercapacitor and all...

At least in EU the price is around 25euro, so it's not that bad.
I strongly suggest you buy a replacement from their official store online. Lot of bad replicas out there. I've lost an S-Pen before and I bought one from Samsung directly. No regrets.

Yes go for an official replacement I broke my Note 8 s-pen on week before trading it in for the Note 9 ... 3 different pens from Amazon were fake nibs couldn't be replaced

Even worse, the fake pens in general do not provide pressure sensitivity.. This is one product that you definitely do not want to be fake...

Hey, I actually have the same one that I use when I'm at home. The bigger size makes for easier long-term use when I'm playing a game.
For some reason I feel note 9 S-pen is too fragile and will easily break when i'm trying to find the damn button to mostly erase notes as it's placed little below center at weak breakable point.
It's only $30 on Samsung.com
