Hi...
i just bought this phone... & looking for a working call recoding application... i tried many ones from android market... but either they record only my side or crashed out.. i really need a good application which support call recording facility... specially other side... & in normal mode only... not speaker mode...
I hope you guys also faced the same problem like me... & some of you guys find the solution. Please guide me.Thanks
The problems is almost all manufactors modified the android they put on their devices in to disable call recording. There is actually build in functionality for this, but if you select call as source, you just get an empty file. It's a shame that most cripple android like that.
The only hack i know of where they got it working is the i9000 from samsung. They hacked the phone.apk to enable call recording.

Hey i know it's pretty old thread but i found working app that works really great on our beloved P500. Records you and caller and saves it in mp3 files. There many options of configuration all you need to do is root your phone and install from market "rVoix for rotted HTC Hero" (can't pasate link cause of lack of 10 posts )
I'm using it on rotted LG p500 with ICS on board.
App it selfs starts a service which is fully configurable, you can set up to record all calls, calls from desired numers, unknow call etc. Maybe someone will need it
It's suggested to not record all calls but only few which one you want to have recorded, casue during the call quality of call is avarage.
Hi
I got a question which Im quite unsure on what to respond to, so I hope you guys can help me.
As headline says - Is it possible to record phone calls with a Android smartphone, without rooting and flashing another kernel? e.g., is there a working app?
It should work both for outgoing and incoming calls and record caller as well as speaker
thanks in advance
the call recoder app i have used requires root so i did a permanent root via z4root
It is not necessary to root or flash another kernel on a untained android device.
The API natively supports recording calls. A simple app would do the trick.
The problem is that manufactors like samsung, htc (i don't know one that did not do it, except google themself) etc. changed the android code to disallow this, because they are afraid of legal problems.
Some phones support it natively...

Hello,
I tested a lot of recording calls apps for Samsung phone S5301, unfortunately none of them work properly, when I play recorded files back they're like fast forwarded sounds, but voice recorder app works great without any problem, also I installed and tested all custom and stock ROMs from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291865 but same issue exist, any help?
Thank you.
I'm experiencing the same issue here. I think it has something to do with audio drivers messed up by Samsung.

do you find any useful app for call recording?
There is a problem with call recording.
Most modern Android devices block the option for direct call recording.
The sounds you can record are through the external speaker.
So actually call recording only records your own voices, and the other side voice is recorded through the external speaker which has a very poor sound quality.
So it's not a problem of a specific app, but a problem in the device itself.
Maybe a combination of a specific ROM with a specific voice recording app can be a solution.
Hi, I've tried using many apps but they don't seem to be good at recording the person on the other end of the line.
The app I'm currently using is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord&hl=en
In the recordings I can only hear my self speaking perfectly, not the person on the other line.
Are there any apps that record both people perfectly?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I use Call Recorder by Skvortsov. It works great for me, but your phone has to be rooted. I have tried several others but this the only one that worked. If your phone isn't rooted then there aren't any apps that work with the nexus5. Hope this helps.
I'm on lollipop. If I root it will it cause me issues receiving updates in the future?

I've been using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=en It doesn't feature any particularly elegant design, but it has worked reliably for me every time. I don't think there's any recorder that will be "good" at recording the party at the other end -- but this does catch them and, if you pump the volume a bit, they're clear enough. This one is also free.
Best call recorder
The call recorder I spoke about in an earlier thread does great at recording both sides of the conversation. There are several settings for it. The phone can either record all conversations or you can have it ask you after every call whether you want to save or delete. It is really an excellent app. I've been using call recorder apps for my last two android phones. My last one was a Note 1. The problem is Google did something to Kit Kat that doesn't allow these apps to work properly without rooting the phone. I wish they would correct this problem. The main reason I root my phone is for the call recorder. I need it for business.
You will still get updates if you root the phone, but you will lose root on major updates. There are ways not to lose root on the lesser updates like small fixes to problems in the software. But you will lose it on the major updates. I haven't updated for KitKat to Lollipop yet because a some of the apps I use a lot don't seem to be working with the update. I'll wait until it gets fixed.
