Thank you for this. The timeout bug however made me flash cwm.
Also, I am able to access the entire filesystem over adb in cwm recovery mode but not in twrp. This is very much needed for instance if you want to delete some files using QtAdb or using the adb plugin for Total Commander (prolly a driver issue I suppose)

I was stuck at last command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
What I did:
1. Rooted (Sucessfull)
2. Installed ADB and Fastboot to C:\ProgramFiles\
3. Paste recovery.img file to the above folder
4. Followed the instructions and succeeded 1-4 but was stuck at step 5 (It states that <waiting for device>)
What I did wrong please clarify. Where to place this recovery.img file???

make sure it is detectable, to do, type "adb devices", your device will be listed if not so install drivers.
And place the recovery where adb.exe located.

did the same way but was unsuccessfull, any way used "Recovery Tools - Flasher". It did the trick for me..

It would have been nice if there was a little bit of a community that would support the Neo M1.
The phone has got a nice design, decent hardware, and price is good. Neo has not been able to deliver the promised Windows Phone OS and the phone does not have the promised Sony Exmor Camera, but still it's alright for the price.
Biggest downside is there's just no active Dev support for this phone as compared with iNew V3 - the closest rival. Another thing is the M1 has got bigger batteries than the V3 but is not removable so it may be a draw in this case.
Even the Neo Mobile forum has been inactive for quite some time, no news for any updates, did not answer questions..which leads me to ask myself: Is it really a good buy?

Our closest rival, iNew V3 already has Android 4.4..hopefully we can get one as well..

I decided to create a clean tutorial (as the method started with several bugs and issues) for those who want to root their DigiFlip PRO.

First Step : Download Brush elves and Root script for DigiFlip Pro.zip to use
1. Brush elf download
2. Root script for DigiFlip Pro
After the download is complete, run the brush machine elves, connect the DigiFlip Pro Tab , while the downloaded [Root_script_for_DigiFlip_Pro.zip] decompression, all into a folder inside the folder name changed here [root], as shown below:
Then the extract from the [root] copy this folder to the root directory of the DigiFlip Pro (on Windows8 is a "computer \ model*\ Memory Device"), that is, put the tablet inside.(*model-->Your DigiFlip Tab Model)
Next, select the Brush elf [utility] inside [Adb command line] , as shown below:
The next step is the most important part was knocking on command, you will see this picture below looks similar to the interface:
Complete command as follows, please turn follow the prompts, enter the following content in red text . (Input after the carriage return)

Any idea if any of the digiflips will support Windows - since they're Intel-based as well? Would love to have a cheap Windows tablet. I already have a 2013 Nexus 7, so Android is covered.

Tried your method, but when I type in "adb shell", the next line comes up as below:
shell @ Android: / # cd sdcard / root
and nothing further goes as you mentioned

this shell is not root. you have to run this in the root shell

I use digiflip pro xt911 tab. two weeks back i tried flashing custom recovery and got stuck in fastboot mode... i searched google to slove the problem and got to know that ASUS zenphone 5 has the board as xt911 .. so tried flashing zenphone ROM. i stuck in USB logo, but i used xFSTK tool to bring it back to fastboot mode, now not able to flash ROM as it gives FAILED (flash_cmd error)!

Notes:
This is latest twrp as of the date of the post, it comes with the updated kernel from our lineage project, and it has support for encryption (no decryption yet as we are on a samsung), ive decided to make a thread for the recovery since i dont have edit access on the others, It is currently "unofficial", which is confusing as i am the maintainer, but i can only change it to official when my trees and up at the twrp repository and they run a build for this version.
Ignore this block if you dont care about encryption:
This recovery version is mandatory if you want to use encryption in the future lineage builds! please note that you must do a Wipe> Format Data > Type "yes" if you are using this version for the first time, this is required so the TWRP creates a DATA (internal storage) partition with the correct parameters and disk space to allow for encryption to work. if you skip this step, encryption is unlikely to work, Do note that once you encrypt in lineage OS, data will be unreadable by any twrp version, until you perform a format again (otherwise encryption is useless). currently this TWRP does not have the ability to Decrypt your data, only the ROM is capable of doing that. for complicated reasons that might get solved some day in the future, but not today.

So How do i install this ?
Through Odin :
Download : Odin (Sourced from Here)
Download and install Samsung Drivers (Sourced from Official Samsung)
Download TWRP_*.tar from the github link corresponding to your device (.TAR and NOT .IMG)
Switch off the phone
Use Home+Volume Down+Power to enter Download Mode and connect the device to usb
Open Odin and tick autoreboot in "options" tab. Also make sure that your device is detected
Put TWRP_*.tar.md5 file into AP tab
Click Start
When Odin shows "PASS" At the precise moment the screen becomes black, immediately press the "Home" + "Vol. UP" + "Power to enter TWRP (This is done incase the stock rom tries to replace TWRP with stock recovery)
If it didn`t work, redo the steps from #4 and be more careful this time.
Through existing TWRP :
Download TWRP_*.img (.IMG and NOT .TAR)
Copy it to your phone storage
Press install then Install image
navigate to the downloaded *.img file, select it
select to flash as recovery (RECOVERY and NOT BOOT)

TWRP incase you are on older than 3.3
Modem and BL package are optional, you should flash them if you are running very old ones, refer to https://sourceforge.net/p/galaxy-note-4-exynos/wiki/Bootloaders and Modems/ for instructions
Linage OS + Gapps (bitGapps or Open Gapps)
perform a successful boot then flash Magisk if you want root
