I recently got restored by tungkick777, thanks again bro. But now I can't install custom recovery. Anyone has any idea what could cause these errors? I just get a lit black screen, the notification light flashes green, and blue.

I have installed Rom Manager to flash Team Whisky's 2.1 Bionix ROM. And i click Flash Clockwork Recovery, it succeeds but when i boot into recovery, theres no "green scheme" its just a regular recovery screen.
Samsung Vibrant btw
Same thing if i try to backup, it reboots but takes me to recovery screen. Thats it. PLEASE HELP
Isn't it beautiful though? Orange on black?
Try pressing the home or menu....no moar green.
Wrong place to post anyway.
Hey all,
My phone was acting up and had a lot of clutter so I ODIN'ed to stock WITH root and e3. I downloaded Rom manager and flashed recovery. Seemed to work. I did the double install deal. Loaded green recovery: great. Reboot the phone. Turn it off to boot back into recovery. As i do the two volume plus power button combo, phone boots and i come to the blue and yellow install screen for recovery. Happens everytime.
I even tried going back to entirely stock. No root or anything. I then rooted, added e3, and flashed. Same deal.
Whats going on?!
I'm flashing a rom right now to see if that fixes anything.
It can't be normal to have to reinstall the package everytime i reboot into recovery.
And it only boots into green. Not blue or red.
Help!
Just finished flashing Zeus and went into recovery. Booted right into red. I guess problem solved?
galaxy s phones and the infuse don't conform to the android standard. they use a kernel with initramfs for boot in place of a boot.img partition. the initramfs can't be modded short of compiling a kernel and flashing it to the phone. the behavior you described is absolutely normal for high end Samsung phones. there isn't really any other safe or easy way to do it. the green recovery is the one designed for the i9000 with the stock kernel. the red/blue versions are themed and modded version that are baked into the kernel. once you flash a rom with a custom kernel you will have red unless it is cm7 or miui which will have blue.
Thanks for the explanation! Makes sense now.
Hey guys, complete noob here hoping to run a custom rom. I followed the instructions for the infused V2 rom for rooting, getting cwm red(coming from stock froyo), and heres where I have a question.
When I hit boot into recovery in Rom manager I get the green cwm.
If I hold the vol and power buttons while powering on, I boot into the red cwm.
Just wondering if I'm good to flash emancipation?
Yes. If you use Rom manager to boot into recovery you will be green, however boot a second time within CWM and the second time you will be red. Which is just how Rom manager works to reinstall packages, but eventually you get to red. Once there, you are good to go for Emancipation.
I ran XZRecovery, then chose install recovery, then it rebooted, got green led and two vibrations, and the phone is stuck there:
.... boot logo, steady green led, two vibrations several times, then blinking green led, two vibrations, and repeat..
Vol-Up will get to Philz and Vol-Down will go to TWRP, but from either recovery, the Rebooting System option will just get the phone back to the green led & two vibrations. How do I get the phone to boot into system??
It's a D6616, rooted and running fine until I got stuck in recovery boot. Any help would be much appreciated!
Solved.
I downloaded XZDualRecovery zip to the SD card, and flashed it from TWRP (could be done from Philz too). Choose System Reboot and now system boots up just fine!
Nandroid backup will be first order of business. Phew.
Note: the zip file is from XZDualRecovery (thanks @[NUT]) and the APK that I ran to get something twisted was XZRecovery. Some init file must have been stuck pointing at recovery.
Every time i install a custom rom it wont boot up, when i click restart to system after install custom rom, it will restart and but wont boot up full black screen and a blue led light come with vibration,
Only solution to install a custom rom, is install custom rom twice without restart, after installation of second time restart to system and it work all,
But every time i need to install twice to boot up the rom,
Why this will happen?
Any solution?
