[Q] Camera2 ( new ) API? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I was wondering when will we have support for camera2 api. This is the new API with more manual settings like the manual focus and a lot of new things.
I have CM 12 Nightlies installed but there is no support yet.
Thanks!

I'm not sure why you are wanting this. You realize to that the camera on C11 has absolutely everything camera2 enables, right? Sure 3rd party apps don't allow this except for fv-5, but they doesn't support Clear Image either. What is it your wanting that we don't have?

FV-5
I have cm12 20150116 in my OPO and camera FV-5 and cinema FV-5 installed.
No support for manual focus or 4K video so no camera2 API in the phone.
Hope to see drivers updated soon.

Camera FV-5 doesn't support RAW either. Only Camera Next from Cyanogen does.

Manual Camera not supported. It requires the Cam 2 API.

Manual camera is the best camera app on android (if you don't care about video). Not selling my nexus 5 for this solo reason

NEW: LGCamera Port for Android 4.3 ALL and i9500/i9505
Hi Guys,
I have compiled the latest LGCamera App and its supporting depedancy libraries to make it work on Android 4.3 General ALL and i9500/i9505. This is a tested package and All the features are working as expected. Device to Device features might work or might not work.
"BSDgeek_Jake_LGCamera_Port_AndroidGeneric4.3ALL_i9500_i9505_CWM" to be Flashed from CWM recovery.
"BSDgeek_Jake_LGCamera_Port_AndroidGeneric4.3ALL_i9500_i9505_MANUAL" to be extracted to '/system' and manually set permissions to '0.0' (root:root) and '644' (rw-r-r). You might want to use "Root Explorer" to achieve this or your prefered explorer which has root capability.
NOTE: Before doing any modification to your device, please Remember to take Backup for your Device through CWM. Although i have tested this package thoroughly and found no issues BUT I am not responsible for any issues which might arise.

I think the lg camera is less blurry in low light than the s4.

Great, thanks for this. It works great without any FC's and pics seems very clear than ones shot with TW camera.
Found two problems.
1. Even thou i chose 10M, 16:9 it always takes pictures in 4:3
2. no possibility to chose external SD card and it places pics always on internal SD.
Thanks.

For second one,
Since this has been taken from LG G2 & G2 doesn't support External SD, Camera app doesn't have save to External SD option.

Google Play Edition requires a seperate modified LG Camera App since it's completely AOSP based or Pure Android.

Shutter sound bug is default problem part of Samsung firmware. Not camera app problem i think.

One Plus One camera RAW out put ?

Hi guys, could and any one tell me if OPO can shoot RAW DNG files. I had look on the Oneplus site and it say it can. Thanks for any help with this
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Free mobile app
No, I don't see an option for that in the camera app. Maybe it's planned for a future update.
From what I've heard, CM will hopefully release a patch/update, that allows the camera to save in raw mode.
Thinking it will be when CM updates to Android "L", due to the new Android Camera API Supporting DNG Image Capture.

The Oppo Find 7/7a with almost the same specs and ColorOS are able to capture RAW images. I hope CM will patch this soon. This would be just amazing

I personally have no issues with the stock Samsung camera app and it's got a great set of features.

Ditto! Also I found the stock camera is faster than other 3rd party cameras.
Does the Samsung camera have 360 panorama?

No its not. Select Mode on the main camera interface to the left of the shutter button. Then select panorama.

That's why it required a download from the Samsung Store on mine? Perhaps, Check your device to see if it is pre-installed....would be a better way to say it.

My post wasn't meant to sound condescending and I apologize if it did. And yes that would be a more appropriate way of saying that.
But back on topic: I had the panorama feature right out of the box and after each clean flash. Its possible it was removed in the ROM you're using (if any).

Any workarounds for DPI changes, the camera really freaks out if the DPI is different than stock
360 panorama is different from panorama.

360 Panorama is pretty much photosphere.

I see no need for anything other than the stock camera as it's fantastic to me.
I agree that the stock camera app is good. I tried the Google Camera app but did not see how to make it save images to the SD card.

[Q] Which camera app do you use on your Nexus 5?

The new stock camera app is good however I loved the options / features with Camera Awesome!
Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Android 4.4.4 anymore.
What do you guys use?
i use the aosp camera mostly, for closups and most my normal shooting. and i use the google camera for panoramas and photospheres.

Can you post the download link please? There are plenty of similar looking apps on Play Store but I hate the ads in them.

just because the app is capable, does not mean that your phone is capable. the nexus 5 can not record 4k video.

Didn't really try the 4k recording thoroughly.. Just happen to went thru its features.
Snap HDR CAMERA is the best. I am using it from the start.

I've just tried the latest BSG one and it didn't crash on me. I've selected HDR and taken a photo but I can't easily test if it's actually working.

Doesn't seem to process hdr+ images, so they are just normal ones.

Model and HDR+ enhancement are not working. We need to wait for devs to make it compatible.
Okay,
Thanks for confirming! Hopefully between the various Devs, they will be able to make a OP6 compatible version.
Sent from my OnePlus6 using XDA Labs
I read in another thread on this issue that the DEVs will need to wait till Google makes an updated Google Camera to work with the SD845. So maybe not till 4th quarter of the year if that is indeed true.
