The new stock camera app is good however I loved the options / features with Camera Awesome!
Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Android 4.4.4 anymore.
What do you guys use?
i use the aosp camera mostly, for closups and most my normal shooting. and i use the google camera for panoramas and photospheres.

Can you post the download link please? There are plenty of similar looking apps on Play Store but I hate the ads in them.

just because the app is capable, does not mean that your phone is capable. the nexus 5 can not record 4k video.

Which is the best camera app?
For me? Camera 360, free and best the camera stock
I like perfectly clear the best, it has the best focus and exposure features of all the apps I've used, though it is a little slow to load at first.

Stock camera app is the best camera app for our smartphone

I actually really like the stock Samsung camera app shame it can't be used on CyanogenMod.
The stock camera has an awful menu system.

+2 . Also stock application of galaxy s4 is also good.
There is a thread dedicated to discussing the merits of different apps. Feel free to repost this in the App discussion thread.
Thanks!
Is there a grid mode or rule of third in the stock camera app?
is there a way to add this type of feature to the stock if there isn't any?

You would need to download a new camera app for this. The stock camera app is still lacking features, and the view screen is not even the same aspect ratio as the pictures its taking.
Focal is a good camera app with grid. You can download it on play store.

Hear about this in my research but it looks bulky, so many features for a camera app. I am not sure if many of them are necessary.
what is your preferred camera app? Do you use Focal personal?

Is it close to the stock camera. From what I've seen with the stock camera, it looks great and easy to use, not too much unwanted junk.

There isn't that much features. It got flash, white balance, scene mode, HDR, effects, exposure comp., burst mode, timer and settings which has image size, toggle exposure ring, auto-enhancement and grid mode. Yeah I use focal.
Which apps that take great panorama pictures would you recommend? It doesn't matter if I have to pay
The stock camera app takes low res panoramas, around 3 MP , the colors are washed out/weird , it's awful, just like the stock camera app itself, I mean, really google no 16:9 6 MP picture option? No 60 fps 1080p video? No burst mode? I could go on and on ...

What about spherical pictures?
The N5 cam does a bad job of stitching them together... Any suggestions?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the stock app is the only one that does photosphere. I know Focal had some sort of spherical photo but I don't know how well it works. Anyway, photosphere stitches it well for me. Have you tried holding the phone in one place and simply tilting it? It won't work if if you just wave your phone around everywhere.
noticed too the stock camera is terrible at panoramas... bad stitching and really low res...

Hi,
I was wondering when will we have support for camera2 api. This is the new API with more manual settings like the manual focus and a lot of new things.
I have CM 12 Nightlies installed but there is no support yet.
Thanks!

I'm not sure why you are wanting this. You realize to that the camera on C11 has absolutely everything camera2 enables, right? Sure 3rd party apps don't allow this except for fv-5, but they doesn't support Clear Image either. What is it your wanting that we don't have?
FV-5
I have cm12 20150116 in my OPO and camera FV-5 and cinema FV-5 installed.
No support for manual focus or 4K video so no camera2 API in the phone.
Hope to see drivers updated soon.

Manual Camera not supported. It requires the Cam 2 API.
Manual camera is the best camera app on android (if you don't care about video). Not selling my nexus 5 for this solo reason
I want test a different Camera App so let me know what is your favorite and post here your opinion, And if you want to put some photos to compare results :fingers-crossed: :good:
Nice idea. What camera are you using right now?

I'm using the Moto G4 camera app for 2 months but i feel the quality is not the one that should have for this phone, some times is slow to take photos and more slow when usig HDR, i tried the original Motorola camera and the results its the same only few differences in HDR mode. Tried Open Camera and is very bad the quality in all
