[Q] Cast Screen using Chromecast in Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9192 - Android Apps and Games

Hello XDA Experts
I recently bought google chromecast as i was super excited about it. Its really good. It would have been excellent if the app was updated with cast screen capability for Sansung Galaxy S4 Mini. I was bit disappointed but with a hope that google keeps updating apps to keep its customers happy. I recently read in your forum that we can enable native screen casting using mirror enabler apk. I tried the following
1) Make my device root capable
2) Installed Mirror-Enabler APK
3) Installed SQL Lite root
after setting up with the above i tried cast screen option in chromecast app but it didnt work. I keep getting "casting screen to chromecast has ended" message . Screen casting works for say 5 to 10 secs max then i get the above message.
Please help experts.

Would the allshare fix from the gt-i9300 work any?

[Q] screen mirroring problems?

Hi all hope someone can help me with my problem. I have recently purchased a note 12.2 and I'm having some problems with screen mirroring. I also have a note 3 phone and wife has a s4 but neither of these have this problem. At first it wouldn't mirror at all! I looked around on the Internet and found some advice to uninstall all share cast dingle update. I did this and it allowed my Samsung 2013 smart tv to mirror the tablet. But i like to use a app called showbox, and on my phone whilst streaming a film on showbox i can press the icon in the top left of the screen to mirror the film i am watching. I would like to do this for two reasons.
1 its easier and quicker
2 whilst in screen mirror mode and not sending the film through pressing the icon on the top left of the screen. I can only access two screen modes. Standard and entertain. Where as using the other method i can access all screen modes including movie mode which is what i have calibrated to use.
How this is clear and any help would be appreciated.

If you are rooted, you can edit /system/build.prop file with any root file manager/text editor and add a line at the bootom
wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
I don't know how Showbox will behave but it does fix screen mirroring problems.
Only for root.

If I understand correctly you seem to have a DLNA discovery problem rather than a Screen Mirroring problem (or maybe both)
Every now and then I also have problems with the Samsung video app discovering my TV. Some times it is a problem of the router as I and others have found out. In my router I have to disable an option called "Enable UPNP on the Network" and the UPNP connectivity on my home WiFi network works correctly.
I suggest you try the following:
Check your router, if there is a UPNP/DLNA option disable it.
Check if you can share videos with the built in DLNA server (it's in Settings at the bottom of the first tab)
Check a free app call "Pixel Media Server" on Google Play, it is reliable, I use it often with my Samsung 2013 Smart TV, and it also streams subtitles to TV without transcoding.

[Completed] [Q] Screen Mirroring on note 3

Hi,
I have a note 3 N9005 LTE global version. I recent bought sony W800B LED TV. Whenever I try to connect to my TV via screen mirroring on my note 3 it says "failed to connect via screen mirroring". I tried downloading the patch play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.screenmirroringpatch&hl=en but when I open the app it says no patch needed.
My android version is 4.4.2
I am able to pair my you tube app with you tube app on TV and mirroring works fine there.
Any suggestions on how I could get it working.
Thanks!

Ashish

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I have seen the thread you mentioned but it is for screen mirroring with all cast hub. I dont have the all cast hub. My TV itself supports screen mirroring.

Sorry, my mistake. It's probably best to ask in the Note 3 q&a section in that case, hopefully someone else who owns your device can shed some light on the matter.

ChromeCast and Galaxy S6

Hello to all,
i would like to know if Chromecast works well on the Galaxy S6 with:
1) ScreenMirroring ?
2) 1080p 60fps made with the phone (smooth playback on TV) ?
3) 4K made with the phone (smooth playback on TV) ?
I really would like to buy this phone and because of the missing MHL port i want to know if it works fine with the above mentioned points.
Thanks a lot

Someone with the S6 and Chromecast that could gave this info?
thanks and best regards

sgs4 experience
i'm still waiting for the s6 but i have a s4 and a chromecast dongle
when samsung didnt changed anything i'm afraid the default "screen mirroring" function will not find your chromecast
it is only supported by samsung tv/dvd/etc..
you can add a AllShare Cast hub because as far i know this is the only supported receiver
BUT you can allways use the chromecast app to mirror your screen wich works quite well with most things
1080p is ok but i suppose 4K will not work well...
I'm afraid that clonednull is right. I have an S6 and a chromecast and it doesn't find it when using the built in screen mirroring. You have to use the Chromecast app to initiate it.
I had no idea this would be a thing. It used to worked with Nexus 5.
Could this be a Google issue and not Samsung?
The s6 is not on the list of supported devices at the moment. One can hope.

It is working quite well. I bought one for my partner which works with my S6
You have to use the Chromecast app, but Screenmirroring is supported, as are some of the basic apps like Youtube.
But of course the quality is not as good as it would have been using an MHL-Adapter( if that was possible).

It's working for me on the s6. I didn't watch a whole movie, but I got it to connect with Amazon instant video with screen mirroring. When you first turn on Chromecast in the upper left there is a menu that says "devices." In that menu you will find screen mirroring. It says it's a beta version.
There are already 2 things about this phone that Irk me.. Both being chromecast compatibility and MHL. I hope these issues can get worked out ASAP. dont know why samsung could not make the device at least MHL compatible...

Screen Mirror on Note 5

Hello Gentleman, a friend and I were looking for the ability to screen mirror on the Note 5 but cannot find it, is there somewhere I'm not looking or is it disabled?
I have found a way to mirror Pictures and Videos from the gallery, but not a way to share my screen like I could on my older galaxy note devices. Thanks for your help
I take it you have a samsung tv with mirroring capabilities. If so, go under settings, and other connections.. If not get cromecast.

They screwed it up on one of the updates. To cast your screen currently go to a picture in gallery, hit share and select the screen mirroring option at the bottom. If your on a 5ghz wifi it will pass even mobile video to your TV. In my case a roku3. I just make the video go full screen on the phone. My Chromecast works like normal.

[Completed] Sharing Music between 2 Android Devices

Hi everyone. Everyday i take the subway and i usually listen to music using my smartphone, but i ran out of space on it.
I also bring with me, my Android Tablet that has a lot of memory, and where i would prefer to save my songs on.
Is there anyway to listen to my music files that are on the tablet using some sort of wireless casting? Like Wifi-Direct or something?
My Android Smartphone is Vodafone Smart 4 Max/Yulong Coolpad (4.4) and my Tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A(5.0.1).
Thanks for the help
