Make sure you have an up to date recovery.
Twrp 2.8.3 that was posted should work.

i used TWRP 2.8.2.1 i got that error too,
try to move the zip file to your external sdcard, that worked for me.

Need help from you.
i tried to install kitkat4.4 in my n7000 with omnirom. Followed the steps mentioned in the webpage.
first i rooted my phone with PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.
then i started to instal with zip from sd with the rom omni-4.4.2-20140214-n7000-NIGHTLY
but it displayed an error message and execution aborted.
it displayed like
error in /emmc/4.4kitkat/omni-4.4.2-20140214-n7000-NIGHTLY
(status 7)
installation aborted
can anyone please help me out..

what version of CWM do you have? i wanna say you got that error because its a kit kat rom and they require most recent version of the recovery they have.

As you said it might be a problem with the version.
i updated with the latest version and was able to install kitkat.
but still searching for the suported gapps version.. would appreciate if you could provide me the link.

with most roms you would just search your android version and gapps after that. try this it has a huge varity of options if you dont care what its inncluded with or just a smaller package of apps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Can miui official roms be flashed with twrp? Or do they only flash on MI stock recovery?
If you have it as a zip for recovery than you can also flash it with twrp

Are you sure? Because I saw that someone said they are supposed to be used with MI stock recovery on miui forum. But it was just one guy...and I never saw anywhere that those roms provided by miui website could be flashed with twrp, that's why I asked. Have you tried that?

because when i restore stock stable recovery image from miui 6, i got bootloop & not reboot to recovery.
EDIT >> i use mi toolkit too, but same bahavior. no reboot to recovery.

how can I go back to MIUI ROM ? I want one message which I took backup using MIUI PC Suite. I was on CM12.1, copied 6.6.6.0 & 6.7.2.0 in my phone (for safety). I did clean for system, cache, dalvik-cache, data. Now when I'm trying to install 6.6.6 or 6.7.2 it's giving me error.

Steps i followed are: 1. download rom n gapps 2. Rooted and installed cutom recovery(TWRP) 3. wiped cache and reset everything. 4. i tried to install custom rom and im getting error saying something about MD5 and partition. Help me please

Whenever u switch from miui to any new custom rom , flash a patch 6.6.10.0 file .. u can avoid this error .. And then follow the usual process after flashing that patch file....

I faced a problem with my OPO yesterday
my phone was on the latest OTA CM OS 6.0.1
so i tried to change to CM 13
i successfully root it and installed TWRP 2.8.7.0
and tell this point everything work supper fine
but when i try to flash the new rom using TWRP it keep giving me
" ERORRE: 7"
i tried many version of the cm13 but the same thing happen
can i have explanation why is that happen and how to fix it ?
TWRP 2.8.7 is a faulty one. Try after flashing TWRP 3.0.2 or 2.8.6.

at the start i was on twrp-3.0.2-0 but the same error came so i changed to 3.0.0 then to 2.8.7 but still same result
Try going to COS 13 (previous one, not COS 13.1), then flash CM 13. Try and let me know.

Hello! I have been using mi-globe & previous smiui for quite some time and never had an issue with dirty flashes. Now, I try to install 6.12.22 over the 6.11.24 version and I always get an "Updater gave an Error 7" and the update fails. I want to flash 6.12.22 to prepare myself for android 7 update. I have also tried to flash 6.12.15 version and also fails. I have tried with TWRP version 2.8.7.3 and later with version 3 which also fails. What can I do ?

Are you sure you took the right one? DL again via a computer?
Your nov. build should have the last TWRP version. Did you tried to update it via fastboot?

thanks for the help but i succeeded by dirty flashing xiaomi.eu 6.12.22 over mi-globe 6.11.24, for some reason it worked. I don't know which one recovery I have, i flashed the 3.0 version using the TWRP app from tha playstore, I don't know which of the two is this ( I think the file I flashed was around 45mb so it's probably the first...).
UPDATE: I have the 3.0.2 TWRP version. Is it compatible with nougat ??
I'm not sure it's about the number only. On the mi-globe topic, it's explained. Flash nougat. Then unlockdevice, then flash twrp compatible
hone doesn't have any OS so how can I install os 7.1.2 no matter what i tried to flash I keep on getting incompatible . Is it because phone has 6.0 and I cannt go to 7.1.2 ??

If the device has 6.0 and you're trying to flash 7.1.2,there shouldn't be any firmware issues.
Can you post a screenshot of your error?
Cannt do screenshot it says updater process failed with Error 7 . This is while flashable zip of slim rom 7.1.2 .. Same error is coming in trying to flash different rom

Twrp supports screenshot.Just take screenshot like you do.Which Twrp you're using?
