After upgrade to froyo, I found problem using 3rd party app (calendar pad, Jorte) in managing google calendar content, anyone can help? thx!
I think google edited the way froyo's stock calendar works and added some features so you will have to wait for an update from the app devs
Yup everyone is having the same problem. Gotta wait for developers on the 3rd party calendar apps

I wasn't entirely sure which forum to post this in, so went with general discussion.
Would any of you be able to recommend some decent phonebook/contacts apps for Android? I can't say I particularly like the 'People' app HTC offer, so I'm looking for some alternatives.
Hmm. Anyone?
I've tried the GoContacts app which is free and is quite user friendly. Most contact apps, if not all, use the HTC People app as a source for data and UI as far as I can see but I may be wrong.
GoContacts is the one I use. The Sense one is just awful.
Why don't you like the "people" htc app?
try using acontacts or dialer one...they have t9 search and stuff
Contacts GOWidget
I currently use the People app on my HTC phone. What do these apps do that People doesn't?

I use that one too
Dialer One
GoContacts is the one I use.
Contacts GOWidget is my preferred option.
I tried GoContacts and I liked it, but the stock Contacts is the best for me.
I'd go with GoContacts or the Launcher Pro Plus Contacts Widget
Is there a better replacement for the stock dialer app on Atrix2 ? I'm looking for a contacts/dialer app that also incorporates Corporate directory search into it like the stock app does.
I've tried a couple of apps (Go Contacts, AContact, TouchPal) from the android marketplace but haven't found any with the integrated functionality for corporate directory search.
Thanks
Dhanvi
Try exDialer

Tried exDialer as well and same thing there too. No search in corporate addressbook.
Dear All,
Please suggest me some messages app for my MOTO G, as the default app has very basic features. Is there any Xperia SMS app original available? or Samsung Galaxy like SMS app. If any good 3rd party SMS app is available please suggest. Willing to pay if there is any purchased ones on Play Store.
Thank you
Regards,
I'm currently using Handcent sms. Its great looking, fully customizable, and has free downloadable themes including Samsung, miui, and a bumch more. Best of all the app is free.

Sliding SMS. Very nice application
Evolve SMS is amazing. It's also free (with in-app purchases) and works really well even with the free version

Yes, once you have installed a 3rd party SMS app go into settings of hangout app and you can choose which app to use as default.

thanks,
now i can disable hangouts for good.
I have 8sms app, on cm11 i disabled default messaging app...
8sms
Another vote for 8sms. It does everything I need without the bloat. Beats the stock messaging app by miles.
I used 8sms for quite a while and really enjoyed it.
I'm currently using HoverChat- just downloaded the app and I'm really digging it so far. If you have used Facebook messenger and like the chatheads concept, you'll like HoverChat.

Sure Sir, will take care of it from onwards...
Guys, take a look at QKSms, customizable with Material design !
Hello I came from a lg g2 to this great phone but the main feature I really miss is the default lg messaging app in it's ability too make a pop-up window that shows up in almost all apps for quick replys the killer part being it's transparent if watching a movie or YouTube and doesn't leave or pause the app when replying. The closest I got to getting something similar is the app called textra but it's not transparent. Does anyone know a good app that is like the LG default messaging app?
Chomp SMS, Go SMS, and Handcent all offer pop-up windows that you can customize. Not sure if they can be made transparent or not thought.
Thanks for the options I looked them all over textra is the closest but not transparent can LG's default messaging app on the G series be ported over to my Sony Z3?

Anything is possible with enough developer support. But I wouldn't expect anything THAT specific to be done now that the Z3 series is no longer the flagship device.
