I am considering getting the metal blue Aluminum Spigen Neo Hybrid case for my Note 4.
Has anyone experienced signal degradation due to the metal frame? Also anyone have this case and can provide pics on the phone? Looking for something slim, but also protective. I had the Neo Hybrid on my GS4 and was ok with it.
Just don't drop it. The aluminum will bend and look like hell thereafter.
I normally dont make a habit out of dropping my phone. With the Neo Hybrid on the GS4, you could buy replacement trim rings.

Well if you are just in it for looks and don't care about protection get it bro.
No signal loss on my end.... Loving the case so far!

Im in it for both. I dont want something thick and clunky like an otterbox, but want something that does offer protection.
From the looks of it the Spigen Neo Hybrid has the same cushion pockets in the corners that most of their cases have. The only real issue, like you stated, is that if you drop it 1 time on a hard surface the aluminum will bend and look janky from there on out.
Can someone post up some "Real" pictures of this case?
Wow, I didn't even know they made one for Note 4.
I didnt know this case was made out of aluminum.

Yes, but the quality of your picture leaves much to be desired. :silly: Is that the satin silver version?

Nice, thanks.
Neo hybrid aluminum in the titanium color. Also own the verus iron shield while a good case not as quality built as the spigen case. It feels better in the hand thanks to the tapered edges. Its exactly the same size bulk wise as the plastic neo hybrid which i own as well. Buttons on this case feel AMAZING!! Feels like pressing the bare buttons. Very tactile. It has slightly more lay on the table lip on the front than the plastic neo hybrid. The same as the iron shield i would say. Loved my iron shiled but this one is even better fit and finish. Overall this case a win for sure. Only downside i think is installing it is a really tight fit. Harder to install than the plastic neo hybrid or iron shield.

Thanks for posting the pictures. This case is nice because it doesn't make the phone too thick. I'll definitely keep this in consideration!
Really like the Spigen but I'm guessing it will make it pretty wide for my tiny hands. But if I had to choose, I'd take Spigen over the Verus. Verus like 99% of the other case makers just cuts out one big hole for the camera and flash. I like how Spigen has 2 spererate cutouts. It's the little details...
So the case has microphone holes that align with the Verizon Note 4?
I had these cases, but recently switched to a non-aluminum case because if effected my GPS a lot. It was extremely difficult to get a lock. Not sure if it effected the signal because I never did a comparison, but the GPS comparison was night and day.

If you are a fan of SPIGEN cases, you will definitely want to check out the Slim Armor. It offers much more protection than the Bounce and Ultra Fit, while remaining slim and pocketable. It features a dual layer design that includes an inner TPU layer and an outer hard shell. Consider it SPIGEN's version of the Otterbox Commuter. It is offered in five colors and runs about $25.
wow, thank you for the review.
awesome
Such horses*** that they made the lip too small to provide any real protection for the phone if it falls on the front side.
WTF were they thinking?
Even though I got mine on a price error for $12.50 I'll probably just return it now...

I don't go through the inconvenience of a case to improve the grip of my phone. I use a case so that if I drop my phone it has side, back, AND FRONT protection so that the screen doesn't shatter... which the slim armor doesn't.

Again, it's called the "Slim Armor" for a reason. It was designed to provide a decent level of protection while staying slim. It might not be the case for you, but that doesn't make it a bad case.

To anyone who received their Slim Armor already, are you having issues with the responsiveness of the volume rocker buttons and the power button? I saw in another thread on here, someone was having issues with their buttons, and now it has me worried since I ordered 2 of these cases.
I pre ordered 3 slim armor cases from Amazon and they ship it to me yesterday!
I read today that it has issues with volume buttons!
Is this true?

Yes, all buttons work fine. They feel pretty soft, no "clicky" feeling, but they haven't missed a press yet. I have also had no issues with buttons being pressed accidentally when put in my pocket or while riding in my pocket that I've noticed either.

I have to say, one of the first things I noticed is a lack of lip. Mine is especially bad because I am using a Glas.T Slim screen protector, so there is essentially no lip at all, despite the claims on the image. Definitely one of the few downsides of this case, imo, with the other significant downside being that the polycarbonate shell, on the Soul Black variant at least, is a fingerprint magnet. Which is really unfortunate, considering the front side is very resistant from the Glas.T.
Does it get scratched? I want to get the white one but afraid it would get scratches and black marks/lines easily. Can you post pictures of its current status? Scratched or not and how many days used?
I've looked at many cases and I've narrowed it down to these two:
http://www.amazon.ca/Nexus-Case-Slimline-Synthetic-Manufacturer/dp/B00O3JA8AQ
http://www.amazon.ca/Google-Nexus-Case-Lightweight-Smart-shell/dp/B00J2QUWTW
Has anyone had hands-on experience with either of these, and can you please tell me your thoughts on them? I've heard good things about the Poetic cover and in Droid-Life's Nexus 7 2013 comparison of the two, the Moko case seemed to not keep shut as well, and the three folds wouldn't magnetically snap into a stand properly. The Poetic case seems better in that regard. However, the Moko case for the Nexus 9 seems to be much revised in design, so I'm wondering if it's much better now. Also, in the pictures the sides look shiny. Are they metal? Or just really shiny plastic? How do they both feel? Hopefully not too plasticky and cheap. About the price, why is the Moko case's original cost so much higher? Is it really worth that much/that much better? Looks almost identical to me.
My main concern is actually just something to cover up the back so the camera won't get scratched. Much like the Nexus 5, these cameras that stick out frustrate me to no end. I don't care at all for drop protection, corners, sides, etc. Overall, all I want is something that can cover front and back (and does it well! so front must stay shut), be as thin as possible, and feels good.
moko ultra slim
The moko ultra slim is too tight and excacerbates light bleeding ( my N9 is not bad in that respect), and since it is hard plastic it can warp the tab and make the issue permanent.Going to try the moko folio next which is leatherette and from past experience stretches to fit the tab just right.
I have the Moko slim one and its pretty nice.
Looking at the Poetic one, it looks like a clone or carbon copy of the Moko one I have. The only difference I can tell is that the cutouts are a bit different.
On the Poetic one, the cutout on the bottom for the MicroUSB are much wider than they need to be, and on the volume/on/off cutout, the angle of the cutout are more right-angeled compared to the the curved cutout on the Moko

How does the moko one feel? Does it feel "premium"? Does the cover stay in place when shut, and does the stand snap into place? Also, do you feel it's too tight and causing light bleeding or warping the tablet like the other guy? Thanks!

It feels pretty good and feels fairly premium but that'll be very subjective. I will tell you that it feels no less premium than holding the tablet bare with no case.
The cover has no issue staying closed if you flip the tablet upside down, but it will open if you give it a shake while you're only hanging onto the backside, but I don't expect this to be an issue under normal use.
When you fold the cover into the triangle position as a stand it stays put pretty well. The magnet in the flap actually magnetically links itself to the other end of the case when in the triangle position so it feels pretty secure.
It doesn't cause any more backlight bleeding compared to without it. The case is pretty tight though when trying to take it out. If you're not careful, it could separate one of the corners of your tablet. This is what happend to me the first time i took it out, but the corner snapped back into place without any issues.

Well, the designs look near identical, so I don't know if the Poetic case will be any different in terms of tightness.

All the slim cases poetic, moko etc. are exactly the same in terms of design so I doubt one brand is better than other apart from a unit variation in which one case may be less tight than the other. I think given the exact match between then different brands IVSO, poetic and moko they are all made by the same factory in china with different shops' labels to sell on ebay and amazon. Just my $0.02, I would rather get something bulky than risk damage to the tablet.

This is the case with many slim hard plastic cases for phones/tablets including slim cases from big name brands like Spigen and rearth, not just from cheapo brands like poetic, moko, and IVSO.
Partly to blame though is the design of the Nexus 5 and 9 design which has sides that concave outwards which makes it more difficult to remove the case. I had a Rearth slim case for my Nexus 5 that was even harder to take out and separated a corner of my cover as well.
I have the poetic and ivso ones. They are different in subtle but important ways. Poetic is better since the magnets are not exposed in the sides of the case. In the past when exposed the magnets would pull out of the sockets they were glued into. Poetic will not do this.

If the Poetic is anything like the Moko case, which I expect it is, then the magnets on the cover are attracted to the magnets built into the Nexus 9.
I have always thought that it was pretty redundant then that the IVSO has the magnets on the case. However after thinking about it, I can see a benefit of having the magnets on the case itself: It would probably reduce how much the cover shifts around when in the closed position and it probably has a more secure closure. Just a guess.

Do you feel the poetic cover is too tight, like people have said about the Moko one? And what about the IVSO one? I'm not too sure about IVSO (never heard the brand before) but the Amazon reviews seem to be good. Also is the metal thing on the cover any risk to the display? I feel that if I close the lid just slightly off it's going to smash into the display.
Both poetic and ivso are tight but that more likely due to the design of the nexus and its back, which extends slightly past the front. Just have to be very careful removing the case so it doesn't snap the back plate off. I don't like the metallic tab on the ivso... Feel like it could rub and scratch the screen. This is one of the reasons I prefer poetic.
The poetic is nice. I finally got it and it comes on and off pretty easily. Not as easy as the n7, but not bad.

I have the moku case and the poetic slimline case . They are identical. I really can't tell any differences at all.
I'm really struggling to find a case that I like for my S6. They're either too bulky, or too slippery, or accumulate to many fingerprints. I've tried a few clear cases to help retain how cool the phone looks, but the fingerprints are killing me. Can you guys share your recommendations?

Try the Diztronic case. It has a matt texture, so its not slippery, and its slim, yet provides protection to the screen (raised lip) and camera.
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Mat...8&qid=1430497562&sr=1-1&keywords=diztronic+s6
Could you point out what you didn't like about each one?
I'm using a clear case right now (Spigen Ultra Hybrid), and you're right about fingerprints. I also have an issue with the crud that accumulates between the phone and the case, which is then totally visible. It's also a tad on the slick side.
I'm considering the Spigen that is just a ring around the edge with no actual back.
Sorry, I'm not really any help, but I feel your pain. I have the Verus Iron Bumper (no front or back protection) and while I love it, the glass is a smudgy mess. I'm not really concerned as I use it, but I carry a microfiber cloth just in case anyone wants to look at the phone. And then 3 seconds later it's a smudgy mess again. The struggle of owning a beautiful phone.
I'm gonna give this one a try now, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VSOIBAS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I had a body glove case on my LG G2 and really liked it, so we shall see.
Is that case good enough for $15?
I have the incipo feather however that one is very slippery and i just ordered the original samsung case which is silver and a clear case.

I had a silicone TPU on my old Samsung Blackjack, and only used it for a week. They tend to get every bit of dust and pocket lint sticking to them.
Seems like you are just being too picky. It's a case.
I've tried the spigen liquid crystal case, but i took it bak because the sides flexed too m uch and the back got too slippery, plus it was just ugly, then i tried the verus crystal mixx white case, I loved that one but it didnt have a lip to protect te camera bezel.
Now i've settled on the Verus crystal light case. It's like the spigen liquid crystal but has two cutouts on the back for the camera and flash instead of one big one. Plus the buttons are more clicky. i found one on ebay for $6 and i love it. fingerprints accumulate on the back but it seems to have more grip than the spigen version so i'm keeping it.
Just got the original silver clear case from samsung and it is really minimal even more minimal then the incipio feather case. I do like the feel of the case since it gives you a lot of grip and there is no additional bulk on the sides of the phone so when you are holding it, you are holding the phone.

I received this today and really like it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00VSOIBAS
Extremely happy. Case fits my phone perfect. The cut outs are spot on however I wish the nexus scanner were wider however I'm sure it's something I will get use to.
The case makes the phone feel a lot more solid and not as fragile as it once did. My phone always felt like it was one drop away from being destroyed completely. Spigen did well by not adding a lot of weight to the phone and having the phones buttons cut out well but not perfect. There's not much separation between the volume up and down. It now feels like one large button. The headphone, camera, rear mic and charger are cut out clean with enough space.
The lip between the phone screen and case are perfect where I feel comfortable placing the phone on its screen side and not worry about it being scratched. The lip isn't so large that you feel this huge separation between phone and case.
9/10 imo. Hope this helps. Ask any questions you need.

There are 2 parts, the back is hard but the top, bottom, sides and corners are all softer and rubbery to absorb shock.
Tyvm! When I first saw this case I thought it was kind of ugly. It grew on me to the point I am actually looking forward to this one more than any of the others I already have.

Is that a hairline crack on the bottom right corner of the cutout for the fingerprint scanner? It's faint so I can't really tell.
Looks really similar to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/accessories/spigen-ultra-hybrid-crack-finger-print-t3247766

Yeah overall I am very happy but I am not that guy that has several cases. I usually buy 1 and stick to it. I cant complain.

I literally have less anxiety knowing my phone has a case now. I may contact spigen but I am not that anal. Plus I dont want to go without a case again.
Anyone know how this compares to the Ringke Fusion clear case? I thought they were exactly the same at first, but it looks like the Spigen leaves the whole visor exposed, while the Ringke only has a small cutout. I had to return my Ringke to Amazon because the TPU had a medium sized tear in the corner. I'm wondering if I should get this instead.

Mine has the hairline crack too. I guess it's just a design flaw.

Yup. I got a crack in mine too. Probably how its molded. I spent a couple minutes trying to get it off thinking it was a smudge.
Spigen. They are top notch and you can't go wrong with them. I surely wouldn't let the crack stop you. I don't believe it effects the integrity of the case doing its job

Does the case affect the finger print scanner on the back?

Out shouldn't, Spigen cases have some of the best cutouts and Ive never had any issues with it on their tough armor that I'm using now. The cutout is likely the same size as their other case which would make it ~14.45mm according to my caliper. It's the perfect size in my opinion

If they put out a Slim Armor or Neo Hybrid, I'd buy them! Their "shimmery white" color on the Nexus 6 case was amazing! It was like an iridescent white. Very cool. The Frost N6P would look so damn sexy in one like that.

I have a graphite one after owning a CW Nexus 6 its a nice change. I would like a NeoHybrid in clear ideally but it won't happen

Whew, glad I'm not the only one with that weird line where the fingerprint cutout is. I guess it's there on purpose?

Over at reddit some users are seeing that line too:
reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3sl3iu/just_got_the_spigen_ultra_hybrid_crystal_clear
Interstingly, in the reddit OP's imgur album you can clearly see that there is no crack/scratch before the case was installed. In the later photos the crack appears when the case is on the phone.
Direct link to imgur album: imgur.com/a/pLn4g
Im guessing that the tension introduced to the case when snapping it onto the phone is causing the crack to appear. However, from the few cases I've seen it seems that so far these cases have the exact same small crack at the same position, so it may could be there on purpose. Only the guys at Spigen will know for sure.
I experienced the same hairline crack and contacted Spigen's CS team. They're helpful and sent out a replacement one for me. If you're willing to deal with the short wait time, then i'd say go for it.
I posted in the two case threads that I found on here, but I will post here anyway because I am pretty excited. I have used UAG cases for many of my phones and their build quality is fantastic. Unfortunately they did not have a model made for the LG G3, but it looks like they decided to produce one for the LG V10. That is great news to me! I was under the impression that they would not be making one according to a previous thread.

I had the cases for Note 3 and G4 and they're nice.
But $40 is...?
Finally! Knew this was in development and been running my phone naked for a while so I could get this. Thanks OP!
finger print
it says on their website they it is compatible with finger print reader, i wonder if they mean the issue with the case and finger print scanner or simply that it does not block the finger print reader .
I was waiting for this too! I have one for my note 2 and I really like it.
I hope they do some sort of sale though cause I'm feeling pretty cheap right now.
So are they both "clear"? I have to decide which color to get now...
There were no translucent cases when I was buying stuff for my note 2. I really like the idea though!

So I haven't seen any pictures at all really of the UAG case, specifically the Ash, so I decided to take a few.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm waiting for mine to show up sooner or later.
I don't know if my OCD will let me live with the scratches on a brand new case.
Does the Spigen Glass scratch that easy?

The scratches can only really be seen if you angle it in the right lighting. It's not that bad in my opinion.
And yeah at least mine is. Kept the phone in the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case and babied it. Saw one day that I had the cluster of scratches you see in the picture. Decided to see if I could make any more scratches in that specific area with a knife or a razor blade, but it didn't scratch it so I'm not exactly sure what caused them.

Nice, so the case does not touch the tempered glass protector on the sides at all?
Is the rubber at the bottom/port area thin or thick? The UAG for my Note 5 is real thin at the bottom and I'm hoping it's a little thicker on the V10 case.

Looks Great, Thanks for the pics.
My UAG went to New York on it's way to Florida and I won't see it until next week.
You're welcome! If you'd be willing, could you update the thread with your findings regarding the scratches near the screws? Maybe mine is an isolated incident.
That's funny, mine has scratches in pretty much the same spot. I'm rarely staring at the back of my phone though so it really doesn't bother me. I'm really not feeling the fit of the case though. The UAG cases for my note 3 and 4 were much more squared off on the sides making them much nicer to hold. The v10 case is rounded on the sides so it's definitely much more slippery than what i'm used to from them. This case feels a lot like the Spigen slim armor case for my g3, which I wasn't a huge fan of.
I'll probably keep it on for a while to see if I can get used to it, but it's definitely disappointing as I was really looking forward to getting this one on and not worrying about a case again.

Will do, I have noticed those same lines/scratches near the fake bolts on other UAG cases for the Note 5 and S6 that I purchased in the past. It seems to be a problem on the transparent cases and not the solid colors.
Hopefully mine will show up Monday.
Just received my UAG case today. I have the same scratches. Questions. Did you receive a screen protector? Does your fingerprint scanner work?

im curious
how does the case make the phone feel in the hand? the phone itself is wide but with the added width from the case how much further do your figures stretch out?
Not much at all. Very comfy.

UAG has not been providing screen protectors with it's latest cases. I know the Note 5 UAG did not come with one.

Hey there, no I did not get a screen protector. The fingerprint scanner works just fine if you take advantage of the cutouts they made so you can make contact with the stainless steel.
http://imgur.com/hDqi3wC.jpg
This is how I'm accustomed to holding the phone now. Ring finger, thumb and my palm can all make contact.
Thanks for the tip. Came in handy.
